  • On a freezing cold January day, see how I tackle the overgrown hedge at the back of my allotment to open up it to a spectacular view with the sun shining. In this video you'll hear all about the tools I use, the wildlife benefits that hedges bring and learn how I reuse all the clippings!
I never did have that tea break but speaking of tea, thank you for all of your monetary support (and cups of tea) I really do appreciate it. 💖

Wow, great view...job well done. The birds will be happy...more light, more plants, more bugs for them to munch on.🙂 Continue to get done all those tasks you have desired to do because soon you will have another excellent job that won't give you as much time in your beautiful secret garden. Love the hat and cozy sweater...take care!🙂

ive been following you for about a year now and I must say I have always liked your channel but it was never my favourite gardening channel until recently. I really look forward to seeing your garden grow and I especially appreciate that you don't try to be a "how to" channel. I just want to see peoples gardens and that's what you do, love it. You have passed Charles Dowding on my all time favourite gardening channel list, so congrats on that!

Brilliant job! My plot has become very overgrown and untidy whilst my brother was ill with cancer. I’ve been lacking the motivation to get it straight again because there is so much to do. I’ve only come across your channel this week and what you have done on your plot is so inspirational. Really enjoyed your videos and your plot is beautiful. Love how you take care of the wildlife too. Seeing what you have achieved has made me excited to do my plot again!! Looking forward to seeing more videos x

I always cut back the ivy hedge in April.
I cut it off quite severe ...but already in may I have fresh growth ...
I spontaneously think you could plant honeysuckle to this hedge ...
Nice flowers , red berries for the birds to feed
If you cut back the hedge ...the Honeysuckle becomes more bushy .
I have planted honeysuckle to an older hedge of ligustrum with ivey ...the end result was fantastic.
    I highly recommend .
    Kind regards from Belgium .

Very satisfying to cut back hedges that have gone wild. One of my favourite jobs, especially when in the mood to do it. Its good way to blowing off a bit of steam during lock down. The results can be seen immediately as well as a sense of achievement Ivy is the killing the trees in our garden. So I'm keen to remove it from around the bark ,strip back as much as I can and let the rest wither in time. A lot of the green foliage can be composted. Next job is the corner of shame put to use. Keep up the good work..
