    I love your Teach and Playthrough videos. You both do a phenomenal job of explaining not only how to play the game, but why you're doing what you're doing each turn, strategically. This game has been on my wishlist for a while now, but this video is pushing it to the top!

    This is, by far, the most relaxed, clear explanation and playthrough I've ever seen. I like the way you explain your thinking with each move. Signed up as a subscriber and I'm searching your past playthroughs for other new games! Well done.

    I don’t think this game will ever leave my collection, it’s a favorite for sure. It’s one of those rare games that you can teach to anyone in 5 minutes, but it’s also super fun to play even as an experienced gamer. Plus the production is stellar. You might even learn something along the way.

      We somehow missed this title when it was on Kickstarter. Didn’t know too much about this title before we prepped to cover it. Great to see so many people also enjoy it in the comments! ☺️

    If Monique took King Tut's tomb card (that Naveen took) as her last card, she would have scored 16 points (-3 for starting a new single trek), instead she took an ancestor that got her 8 points (5 for increasing her Trek and 3 for covering a spot).

      @@zuhdizaaimuddin7058 What op suggest is to start a new trek while not intuitive cause you take -3 for having only one card in a trek. it would have bring her 16 points from bonuses on her expedition card. you can always start a new trek.

  • @jamesrhodes3763
    @jamesrhodes3763 Рік тому +3

    44:09 Monique, you should have grabbed tuts tome as your last play. It would have netted two points (13 on your itinerary and -3 on the trek length for a total net 10, vs 3 on the itinerary and 5 on the trek length for a net 8 gain).

    • @ambarishprakash16
      @ambarishprakash16 Рік тому +2

      Its actually a total of 5 points. Taking the tomb would give 16 on the itinerary (3 for blue, 3 for green and 10 for the row with the wild)
      Not to mention it would block Naveen from getting a point as well (He would have to go for 1909 Sigmund Freud instead which would not let him get that extra point from the blue token)

    • @jamesrhodes3763

    What a coincidence. I just played this solo yesterday (after having played it with my sister and her boyfriend). It's a very thinky game. But I think after five plays you know how many treks you should make to get the most points. I'm also not very sure if the iteneraries are well balanced. They all have different points and crystals on them. Maybe the difference isn't so big. I like all the colors though and the game itself :) It reminded me a bit of patchwork. I know that might sound weird, but instead of picking a tile, you choose a card now. The card has some benefits/costs here too and just like in Patchwork you need to see if the card/tile fits. And you have to move your marker on the clock.

    • @BeforeYouPlay
      @BeforeYouPlay  Рік тому +1

      Naveen said the same thing about patchwork after I first taught it to him. We played the game 3 times and definitely saw the score gaps getting closer with each play.

    • @nihlify
      @nihlify Рік тому

      They recommend picking the itineraries after you've played a couple of games. A simple draft would balance it enough for this type of game (at least multiplayer, haven't tried solo) .
