"I think the shot is pretty good with what I have to work with". Yeah, there's not much there. Just a bunch of rocks. Riiight. Just a little bit of an understatement. Personally, I like the first shot because you can see more detail in the background peaks. All I can say is, holy cow Mads! The whole video is just one phenomenal shot after another. Of all the locations I've seen from all the photographers I watch I think the Dolomites just might be the most epic. That includes places like Iceland, The Faroes and Antarctica. Thanks for the adventure.
Yes the little tree is great, so many great mountain images almost numb to them, but that tree image stands out as different.
Three times I have watched both videos into the last year. It's absolutely amazing enjoy watching. In each time I have learned anything more. Thanks so much for your incredible content and your training in UA-cam.
No words that do justice to the video and the photos. Stunning.
Absolutely spectacular ! Again!
I am glad for you to be lucky to visit this location.
Amazing! Beautiful ! Incredible!!! Not enough words to describe the images you have captured!!!! Well done!!!!
I am absolutely speechless & thoroughly marveled! Looking forward to your April 2023 Dolomites. 26:57
Magnificent images captured in this series. Outstanding video and music selection. It's really difficult selecting the best since all the images are stunning. The one with the reflection by the lake is awesome! As well as the one with morning light and pink clouds reflecting in the lake. Thank you for Sharing this adventure. We live in a beautiful world. I'm always amazed at your ability to "see" and capture all the beauty, especially when not a "planned" image.
the last picture is super epic that's all I can say WOOOW ❤️❤️❤️
too much beauty for me to choose a favorite. Stunning.
Another blast! Thanks Mads!
Favourites: lone tree collection and the new “smokin’ peak” 😁 epic!
Just two words Mads - Absolutely Epic!
Just wonderful thank you. It’s fantastic pondering shots with you like this. All magic!
Dolomites are unique indeed and your stills and vlog are excellent
Thanks for putting so much good composition information in your videos. The epic mountain shots are amazing but I also loved the single tree backlit by the golden sunrise.
I love the way you say “Tre Cime” :D Amazing work and video as always!
Absolutely outstanding Mads. both parts 1 and 2!
Two fabulous videos, Mads. So much work - thanks for sharing! Love the many moody images here!
After all the admiring comments below, I would like to drop a critical remark on Mads’ Dolomites videos. But firstly the pros. The photos: absolutely stunning. The drone videos: breathtaking. The video overall: cool.
Nevertheless, I would have welcomed appreciation not only for the spectacular landscape but also for the cultural identity of the Dolomites, i.e. their people, geography, and history. As a resident of the Alps, who climbed many of the mountains shown in this video, I truly miss that these alpine landmarks were not addressed by name, calling them frequently “background mountains” or “the peak over there”.
In fact, almost all rock structures in the Alps, including small pinnacles and spires, bear names. As a visitor you cannot be familiar with all of them, but when producing a Dolomites video, I would expect the most prominent mountains to be addressed correctly. Some examples?
At the beginning of video #1, after having shown the famous churches in the Villnöß valley at the foot of the Geisler Gruppe, it would have been respectful to mention that Reinhold Messner, the most legendary mountaineer ever, grew up in this village and acquired his phenomenal alpine skills in the Geisler mountains. And, unlike Mads suggests at the vista-point on the summit of Seceda, that range is not called “Seceda mountains” but Geisler Gruppe (Grupo di Odles) and the stunning mountains are the Fermeda towers, Furchetta and Sass Rigais. Such information is readily retrieved from a map or an app like Peakfinder.
This lack of sensitivity is present throughout both videos, e.g. the stunning mountains seen from top of Lagazuoi are not only impressive landmarks but bear truly epic names including Tofana, Antelao, Pelmo, Civetta, Averau, Nuvolau that need not be concealed. Not to mention that the “sharp peak” seen from Drei-Zinnen-Hütte is the Paternkofel (and by the way, that peak played a most prominent role during the fights in World War I) and the “Matterhorn of the Dolomites” above Baita Segantini is Cimone della Pala. Just to mention a few …
So, besides the excellent photographic performance, there is room for improvement, and I am looking forward to see this in forthcoming videos.
Mads wonderful two part journey. Great photography and great vlog. Loved it, great stuff. Great to to see someone living the dream 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Excellent lets keep commenting on his Video so we can push him. He deserves it
That litte tree at cinque torre is beautiful!
Once again, an EPIC video Mads. Wish I was there.
I like the sun star effect.
an epic journey ❤️,
Cinque Torri is beautiful and my favorite location in the Dolomites. But with only a wide-angle lens it’s hard to find unique compositions.
Love the vlog and photos. My favorite photo of Cinque Torri is the one you took early morning with the sunrise. It’s 👌🏽
You are currently the World President of photography vlogging. Thank you for creating and sharing.
Mads, thank you for another amazing video. I agree the small tree with the sunlit background was amazing, but the reflection photo with colorful sky at the end was my favorite. You also seem to always choose music that adds to the drama of you videos.
Wow! Thank you Mads! I've been on vacation with friends and family numerous times in Südtirol and the Dolomites, but have never had the good fortune of a workshop like that, so thank you for sharing and inspiring! Personally, it is perhaps the most beautiful place I've ever had the opportunity to visit. And I live in the Rocky Mountains, which is also quite "Epic"! We actually just returned from Südtirol. I'd be very interested in knowing how one can participate in such a workshop.
Epic Mads, loved these 2 video's on the Dolomites.
I love love love the image of the little tree growing on the hillside. It made me almost cry. It is how I feel sometimes, like that lone tree in a massive landscape.
Such a beautiful place! Great shots! Amazing!!!
Perfect timing. Lunch time entertainment sorted !!
Having finished watching. All I can say is wow. Absolutely incredible images and as always perfectly portrayed and explained throughout the video
Once again......WOW! It's hard to pick a favorite but if you had to twist my arm I would say the reflection image with Monica in the image for scale. I loved that one.
What a trip Mads - Epic shots indeed. Especially love the reflection shots near the end and the wee tree at 12:41. Out of the two Cinque Torri sunrise shots I do like the one with the sunstar - although both are wonderful.
Absolutely stunning!! Loved the style of your videos, Mads…really makes me want to pack my bags and head to the Dolomites today! My favorites are the moody cloud scenes…they would also make for some epic black n whites!
Once again, your images and instruction are phenomenal. The lone tree growing on the side of the mountain may be my favorite image of yours that I’ve ever seen…and I rarely miss your videos. Besides being absolutely beautiful, this picture tells a powerful story of strength, survival, and independence! Great work and thanks for sharing!
Mine too Love it 😀
Hey, Mads))) This video is soooooo goooood! I'm absolutely in love with your photos and that locations!) AMAZING! STUNNING!) Thank you for inspiration!)
Absolutely fantastic,Mads!!!!
Poor Monica. Did she get to take any photos herself 🤣🤣🤣 Great video. Looks stunning
High contrast sunrise with little tree was my favourite!
Hi Mads,
a wonderfull trip to the Italian Dolomites. Watching this video was amazing. A lot of epic spots and pics I found. My favorites are the ones at 12:30, 22:16 and 23:20.
For me it is still unbliveable how you find all these amazing compositions like the one with the little tree. That's what is called experience. I need to learn more about compositions :-D
Thanks for sharing this video with us.
Wow, can't say anything else. I liked the moody image the best out of the two side by side photos.
My favorite ones are in 8.26 and 25.30. Awesome place.
The one with rhe flowers in the foreground.
Epic, as Part1. Congrats, great tour Mads
Beautiful work again and wow, what a location 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Magnificent area, beautiful pictures and great video.
I never get tired watching your video mads. Love from Philippines
Mass, wow 🤩: as you said, truly epic images form your trip 👏
You definitely need a merch shirt that says “absolutely epic”
Haha yeah, I'm sure that could work 😁 just need to find one ;)
So great like watching a wonderful movie!
I can’t choose they are all stunning
Epic location and images. Absolutely need to go there ! Thank sou for sharing this trip with us Mads
Awesome video Mads! My favourite shot is the moody one from cinque torri, that picture is just perfect to me
what an successful way to capture this journey! kudos!!
Artistic images Mads, I'm always amazed at the amount of gear you pack around! I suppose if you want a particular look, you need a lot of gear.
Stunning imagery. Very inspirational!
Totally amazing. Love it all.
Absolutely Epic!
Breathtaking photos and videos, thanks!
Thanks for all the videos and the all effort you put, they are very inspiring. I'm learning a lot from them and after getting your books last year now I decided to get your photoshop for beginners course too, to continue learning. By the way, that photo of the tree on the cliff is amazing and truly epic! WOW!
Great stuff,Dolomites are uniquely wonderful, glad you had fun. I always feel that while photos like the tree silhouette are amazing they could be anywhere. The uniquely Dolomite shots are the likes of the last one, the Tre Cime - really like the one with sunstar.
The tree om the ledge (12:32) is the one i would go for
Incredible photos at 12:40...
I’m longing to visit the Dolomites now. Absolutely fantastic stuff and thank you for sharing. Best wishes from Singapore.
Really nice shots, you have been very lucky with the weather , I think your photo of Baita Segantini ( the cloudy one) in the best one I've ever seen.
One word….sublime !
really really fantastic photography I like so much congratulations
Ohhhh man this channel never Ceases to amaze me 😊
These images are all fantastic
Stunning as always!
I love your videos and images Mads, my favourite though is of course the one of cinque torri with the sun flare, stunning.
Stunning video. Very inspirational scenes. Thank you for sharing your amazing trip with us ❤️
Beautiful country!
Such an amazing journey. I loved the small tree against the golden backdrop. I also loved the evening shoot at the last location with the lake reflection. Thank you for the hard work involved in capturing this journey for those of us home bound to enjoy ❤
18:41- I prefer the left one, just because of the dynamics, and warmer colors (which couldn´t seems it for first glance, but it is warmer, and i like warm colors 😁. Bud as always, all of your images are even slightly above first class👍).
I loved the first video in this series and the second is just as breathtaking. I love how light plays over mountain landscapes and your work captures that beautifully.
Wonderful video of an amazing location. Thank you for sharing the details of how you look at the scenes.
absolutely magnificent!
Excellent!
Really good job!
Congratulations.
another great viseo amazing photograhy enjoyed this
Hard to pick a favorite from such stunning photos. Normally I don't like people in landscape photos, but with these mountain shots the people really make it more epic because of the sense of scale.
i loved the lone tree photo at the beginning. damn i so want to go there and take shots
Beautiful images. Looks like a great trip!
the first thing I can tell you is that my favorite photo is the one with the little lonely tree ... really beautiful!
I understand very well your emotion on this trip ... I have been going to these places since I was a child and I still get excited when I see "my" mountains.
thanks for these great videos!
p.s sorry for my English translation 😬
my favourite is the lone tree at 13:00 and of the two comparisons I liked the one with the starburst best. Thank you as always for such an awesome video - you are a master. Take care and be safe out there....
Spectacular!
I think one of my favourite shots is the lone pine tree on the cliff edge with the distant sunbeams in the background at 13:00. At 18:35, I'm kind of torn, I like the action in the stormy clouds on the left but I like the simplicity and the light of the sunstar peaking around the edge of the butte (pillar). I love the photo at 26:15, the colours in the clouds and the reflections of those colours in the water are beautiful.
Very nice! Very, very nice!
Again absolutely awesome video. Love your style, completely down to earth. Beautiful images, would love to go there myself, maybe next autumn ....
Wooow..., Incredíble photos, congratulaciones...😉👌
Having flown over the Dolomites dozens of times en-route to Greece, they never cease to amaze me.
Another trip in my bucket list…
Amazing photos, what a nice trip.
Just fantastic.
Very fine Video, Mads - as always .... inspires me to go there!
Beautiful images and so inspirational. Thank you
Superb 🤘🏻 one of my Top 5 cars of all time is the Triumph Dolomite Sprint 😁
Just amazing! It's really hard to pick out a favorite image, they are all so beautiful. But, if I have to, the last image of the mountains reflected in the lake with that awesome sky is, in your wors, "just epic."
