UA-cam proposed this to me after watching today "They're Coming to Take Me Away ". I could still sing it word for word although I heard it for the last time probably 50 years ago.
My late Dad used to "sing" (for want of a better word) They're Coming to Take Me Away all the time as a joke, and I do the same for my daughters. RIP Jerry.
Rest in peace, jerry. His second napoleon xiv album, "for God sake stop the feces" came out on 4/20 this year. 53 year's too late. It's a masterpiece, and far ahead it's time.
Lovely to hear from him! I listen to his album "The Second Coming" pretty often. To descibe it 'just' as a novelty song dismisses so many wonderful great things about it, it's truly a piece of art right up there with the early Zappa albums.
I found this by chance, but what a wonderful glimpse of this talented man. I've known this song from my childhood in the 60s, and thanks to Dr. Demento I was introduced to several of Mr. Samuels' other songs that followed. Great to see him still doing so well.
glad you liked it! I really enjoyed chatting with him too. You may like to check out all the interviews on my website too www.abreathoffreshair.com.au. Let me know what you think?
@@sandykayepresents-abreatho9146 I've already been to your site, and will listen to more, I promise. Saw the Corrs at the top of your page, and I had met them when they were in Los Angeles, recording their first album in (I think) 1995. At a Mary Black concert, I found myself sitting next to these three lovely, young Irish ladies and their brother. Little did I know how much success they were about to have!
@@Rollin_L how amazing! they are the most gorgeous girls aren't they! Thanks for coming onto my website! If you listen to podcasts maybe susbscribe? And do you have a favourite artist you'd like to hear from? I could track him/her down for you?
When this came out in '66 it was EVERYWHERE. So much fun!
