    Why didnt Korg add a realtime function knob that just relates to any selected parameter on screen. As soon as you touch on the screen to highlight a controllable paramater use a decicated function knob to control it, surely that would be a very quick and easy way to change a setting on the fly. I hope something like that could be added into v2

    • @JuliusDeBerryJr
      @JuliusDeBerryJr  Рік тому

      korg has had this for EVER. It's called the value slider. Basically able to manipulate any parameter by selecting it then moving the slider. We all know the Nautilus utilizes the touch screen for parameter changes. So you can just touch the screen and modify from there.

    thanks for the vid. very cool. im thinking of retiring my kronos and getting the nautilus. one of the deal breakers for me was exactly that...controlling the volumes using knobs (i do that on my kronos - constantly mixing things in and out with its faders). although i wonder if i could still use something like a korg nano control to do the same thing?

    • @JuliusDeBerryJr
      @JuliusDeBerryJr  3 роки тому

      I'm not sure yet if you can use the nano controllers on the Nautilus.
      Are you saying that was the deal breaker that's causing you to keep your Kronos or that was the deal breaker that's making you get rid of it for the Nautilus?

      @@JuliusDeBerryJr i basically need my next keyboard to pretty much do what my 2011 kronos v1 61 does - individual outs and faders (as i said to control combi volumes). something that didn't break the bank either. MODX6 is cheaper and has 4 faders but no individual outs, Fantom 6 has everything but is really out of my price range. nautilus 61 sits comfortable in the middle. now after watching your video, i think that's the one. my kronos will be backup..or i might just even sell it. still very curious to see if anyone has managed to use nano control with it. if not maybe Korg does an update in the future that will allow this. still at least the knobs are cool!

    enjoying your videos so much! Question: when you get through making these adjustments, and that is the way you want this combo to sound all the time, so you go to write it, does it have to be in a new location, or can you write right over the established pre set location of this sound.

    • @JuliusDeBerryJr
      @JuliusDeBerryJr  Рік тому

      You can overwrite the default location or you can save it to a new location so the original sound stays intact. This is one of the big advantages of Korg boards over the other major companies... Overwriting presets. This means your entire board can be filled with your sounds and be completely different than any other out there. 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

    Julius, very good presentation! I liked, I subscribed!😊
    But let me ask you (if I may,) once you’ve set the knobs up like that, can it then be assigned to any of the foot switches? You know, so you don’t have to take your hands off the keyboard?

    • @JuliusDeBerryJr
      @JuliusDeBerryJr  3 роки тому

      I will check. Foot switches can possibly be assigned to expression which is a midi cc control that technically controls volume. So maybe you can assign it to a realtime control instead of a mixer control. Tie that element to expression.... Maybe? 👀👀👀
      I can double check for you. Does it make sense as I explain it?

    Hello Julius, thanks for all your videos. I've been trying to apply the same concept to assign the USB (1 & 2) volume to a User knob but I dont see a way to it similar to what you showed on the combi. The USB volume is under Global -> Audio Input -> Audio. I use the audio interface on the Nautilus when connecting the Mac. However, I cannot adjust the volume coming out of the Mac via the Nautilus unless I use the screen on the Nautilus to manually adjust the volume. I can adjust the volume directly on the Mac but that too is inconvenient. If you've done something like that or adjusted a value in the Global page via a user knob, can you post a video on how you did that?

    • @JuliusDeBerryJr
      @JuliusDeBerryJr  2 роки тому

      I'm not sure that they have a way to control the USB volume on the Nautilus.

    • @JuliusDeBerryJr
      @JuliusDeBerryJr  3 роки тому

      The jury is still out. I believe it can control some aspects, but most likely not layer volume. It used sys ex to send instructions internally and the are not easily copied..

    • @JuliusDeBerryJr
      @JuliusDeBerryJr  3 роки тому

      So you want to play recorded tracks from the board and then just play on tp of it? Yes I'm sure that would be fine. More than fine.
      As far as patch changes are you wanting to make patch changes WITHIN one combi/sequence as the backing tracks are still playing?

    • @JuliusDeBerryJr
      @JuliusDeBerryJr  3 роки тому

      Oh ok. Sorry not sure why my post posted after yours.
      So yes this would work. But the easiest way would be to just change the active track in the sequencer. So instead of trying to fumble around with program numbers and banks numbers etc.... You can just pre-set all the sounds that you want to use and just assign them to individual tracks. Then just change the active track to initiate which sound you are using.
      With that said, that will also limit the number of tracks available either for the sequence or for the play-along sounds.
      Does that make sense?

    "Who Needs Faders, When You Have Knobs?" Anyone who plays organ. The faders on the Kronos work like drawbars. The knobs can't work that way, and using them from the touchscreen isn't practical while performing. A shame, as the organ engine is the best part of the Kronos.

      Yes, I believe so. If the channel is set to 'ext' as is assigned to a midi channel that's controlling an external sound source... You'd use midi cc control to do it. I haven't tried this so don't quote me. But I'm theory, it should work.
