People are really struggling to understand the point of the video it's not about how good a fl2 can be or about driving skill but purely what if any difference the various settings make even when the tires are not terrain appropriate. Good vid I enjoyed it mate
Just trying to show the difference between MODES, and what you can do with this car with the normal "set up", not upgraded for off-road. The tyres set up makes a big difference for sure.
The LR Terrain Response system doesnt work under ~2k revs due to the risk of stalling the car by braking the spinning wheel(s). You need to hold the revs over 2000 rpm for the TCS to work. first time I tried my FL2 off road I did the same and thought I was stuck, then revved it higher and it drove out of the mud. Just close the windows before revving the car in a mud puddle!
That is not properly correct. The differentiat locks don't acts below those rpm. But the terrain response also controls the acceleration, spenning and break . This others parameters are controlled with independence of the rpm.
For 1800kg kerb, I think 420nm torque and 140kw is just right... As a soft roader, it does a great job... and I quietly think it is the bargain secondhand buy. Essentially an Evoque with a more stout, Range Rover-ish shell for a 1/3 of the price.... Yes please.
Last winter I got stuck on a terrain that seemed simple, I was in TR auto mode. Both front wheels muddy. the rear ones on hard and flat ground. I put the traction in mood mode and only the front wheels were driving, the rear wheels did not move....what did I do wrong????...should I have put the mood mode before entering the mud...????
Yes, I get your point. The video it is about how the 4x4 sistem works with road tyres, if you put AT tyres it would be the same in all modes. Nobody (would use road tyres) it's for those who have an SUV and they rarely go off the road not offroading.
The video it's about the car finding grip with normal road tires and how different modes are working when activated. If the car had A/T tires it would just go up, right?! 90% of the 4x4's are on road tires these days and my video's are about what you can do with that setup.

Exactly 👌 thank you!
I think the tyre choice could be better, a set of AT ones would have made a big difference

Just bought one and I need to learn how not to drive it off road so I will watch this video again lol
@@nw8000get some all terrain tyres. They work perfectly
Looks like the mode choice is helping
Yes, the mud&ruts mode seems like the best choice!
Yes! 😎

Sunt 100% deacord cu tine că anvelopele fac diferența aproape în orice situație.
@@4x4check înainte de nokian am avut good year wrangler all season dar fără fulg și pe zăpadă erau praștie
Manual gears, start in second gear
👍
Tyre pressures are too high. 22psi would be best on that surface
Too bad almost all of the attempts had different momentum to start with. Still appreciate the work
I'll try my best next time, thanks for the feedback 😁

Maybe you have a problem with haldex, do you have the ESP light on in your dashboard?
@@4x4check no, I press esp on/off but the rear wheels don't respond.
Later I have made others tracks with ok response.
I seemed to read that TR mode should be selected before starting the track...???
Yes, but it should work anyway even if you select the mode after entering mud or rough terrain.
You must empty the tires brother.. otherwise it will always get very difficult.
💪
Sall de ce se activează HDC la mud and ruts?Trebuie dezactivat când urci cu masina și activat când coborî?
Așa lucrează "programul", nu trebuie să faci nimic.
What did you expect to do in the mud with those tires?
Nothing, just to show difference between the traction modes
can you switch off all modes ? and drive only on 4x4 ?
Yes. It has a normal mode.
Why would u test terrain response with tyres suited to tarmac, who would put those tyres on if they were serious enough to need terrain response

8:25 why engine shut down?
It's a manual transmission
I killed the engine 😅
which year / model is this?
2007 Land-rover Frelender II Hse 2.2 diesel
Salut, mai ai mașina? Recomanzi acest model?
Salut, nu o mai am. Da, mie mi-a plăcut mașina. 👌
Good car, bad driver.
😎
Unimpressive even with Pirelli Scorpians I felt little steering control either uphill or downhill.Maybe BF Goodrich would be better traction?
Hello.I change BF Goodrich KO2 with Pirelli Scorpion. For off road BF Goodrich is better,in mud,not in rain, for on road Pirelli .
👍👍
😁
You have no idea how to drive that land rover your TC is off.
😅
Wrong Tyres for that sort of driving, should of used All terrain tyres
You didn't tell us which modes you were trying. Difficult to appreciate what was going on
If you look closely at the beginning of every try for a few seconds it appears on screen in what mode it is.
@@4x4check missed that while skipping
I hope that it makes sense now 😁
I'm pretty sure, that this is not your land, that you are ploughing. :(
No, actually it's a forest road 😅
@@4x4check He means the car
It's a bit confusing 😂😂 works either way
How can I active the 4x4 of my freelander 2 diesel?
A Freelander 2 4x4 is always 4x4. You can't turn it off. But when you have a 2x4 version, you don't have the option to turn on the 4x4.
@@BKersemans the Mine one is diesel, i think that is 4x4
Look underneath the chassis, if you don't have a drive shaft or a diff. than it's not 4x4. So you only have front wheel drive.

Watched until 3 mins, the driver cant drive. A normal car with road tyres could be driven up that hill.
They are road tires.
Those tyres are ABSOLUTELY USELESS! Not sure if driver is doing a vehicle justice ether...

Those are the worst tyres i've ever seen.
Indeed 🤣🤣
The tires u put on are garbage as well unfortunately
I drive a 2009 lr2 with continental terrain contact A/T and have never had an issue
I'm sure. They are garbage 🤣🤣
Put it in a low gear slow
👌
Just tick over my freelander 1 auto TD4 would walk up there. Plus you got shit tyres.

Painful. Could have been interesting with someone who could drive off road and with decent tyres.
