He's definitely right about it being based on emotions. If the Traveler's primary function is to terraform the physical world and create life through a space-magic variant of the fundamental forces of physics, then it stands to reason that the Veil's primary function is to create fully formed minds using its own similar process. To do that you need willpower (stasis), thought/memory (strand), and emotion (the 6th subclass). Whether it's 'Strife' or some other variant, emotion will be the basis for a 3rd darkness subclass. I hope you're right. Makes sense to give that as free content because it's more of an update for what we already have and save something brand new to the dlc. They already released the rocket pistols early, so I wouldn't be skeptical about your idea
I can imagine in the final shape us losing against the witness in the raid in some brutal way, then we unlock strife out of anger/desperation and use that anger in the final big mission
@@NicholasJScott I disagree. Every time that we have had a subclass tied to the DLC the narrative has been awful. If Bungie can pull it off with the extra 6 months they have, then be my guess, but I'd rather it be a post-campaign unlock rather than butchering the campaign.
@@NicholasJScott Well we are already getting the light ones in the middle of the story, so we might as well unlock the final one after the raid. And then just like everything else post beating the raid, everyone gets a cutscene etc etc.
I know the darkness subclasses are related to the mind but when stasis came out i thought it was supposed to be atrophy or the lack of movement in a physical object, while strand was just a representation of string theory.
It would make sense to use the strife subclass in that final mission, post raid clear. Maybe use all the classes up to that point to damage the witness then the last super/abilities would be from the Strife subclass. Then the first episode would be about using and controlling it. I always said that a new subclass would be better suited for a season introduction over a major DLC. less clutter to the overall story.
I was hoping we’d get that in witch queen with strand where we use it in the final fight with savathun then we learn more about it and how to use it in lightfall
Now, I do 100% believe we will be getting another subclass, and I already thought it was stupid to think it'd be SIVA way back when I first thought of the concept, so I was already figuring it'd be something kinda like the nightmares on the moon, all about emotion and everything, because SIVA was already confirmed to be off the table and there was still way too much unexplored about how the darkness manifests nightmares to just never circle back to it in a subclass again. But are we sure it's gonna be done like THIS though? I have not been informing myself very much on strife, I only heard bits every here and there, but nothing deep, so I don't know how reliable the leak sources are here or how fixed any of this is. But there are some things that still rub me the wrong way. For example, why are we so sure that we are gonna be making our enemies bleed and take damage over time? There is no way the new subclass is just getting solar scorch reskinned. Also, now that we are talking about copy-paste: Why is every super I've heard so far just a different twist on a super that already exists in another subclass? Why is strife warlock just red bathrobe behemoth, why is strife hunter just blood barrage, and why is strife titan just evil well? I'm sorry, I want strife to become a thing, and I think it will one day. But I think that the only thing we can take away from this is that a red darkness subclass based on emotion can most certainly happen in the future. Every detail I have heard of it so far beyond that though just looks like any nondescript member of the fan-base recycling pre-existing things and feeding them to us for a hit of "my ideas made it out there". Although do correct me if I'm wrong, as I said, I don't know how reputable the sources of the leaks are, so I could be just doubtful for no reason.
If the subclass is based around chaos and rage, the obvious way to take it is that is can be CONTROLLED by giving into blind anger, but only truly MASTERED by defying the directionless destruction it drives you towards
I cant remember and I cant find a video of the first runs of root to actually look at the 2nd encounter wall for root of nightmares. But looking at the 2 enemies coming in Final Shape heads they are the same symbols as at least one of the symbols that glow for the wipe mechanic. If there is a third glyph on that wall or anywhere else we actually might have a more definitive answer before bungie announces it or us playing Final Shape.
A heal based off DoT effects on enemies would be pretty cool if they wanted to add a survivability aspect to this. Especially if we have like a self-target AoE DoT effect. Think that'd be a new cool thing.
ever since that chair emote has been bugged that isn’t synced properly to your subclass and will cycle to a red chair had been brought back i’ve been convinced that’s just bungos version of a light tease for what’s to come
Still coping I’m hoping there is this subclass, however don’t think this leak is right (or I hope not) Titan and warlock supers maybe just to me see the same, subclass seems one note. And the big one for me which doesn’t make me believe it, that trace rifle is meant to be the traveller light beam, strife doesnt sound like that.
When I think of rage in destiny I think of rhulk and tormentors and I guess calus and nezarec! When you deal enough damage to them they go into this beserk mode where they turn black and make loud angry sounds and they chase after you u can't think of any other enemy of the top of my head that do that and they're all desciples so it adds up I suppose
I hope we finally get a dash style ability in hunter with strafe Hunter so far has embodied every flank and rouge style playstyle from every game except oddly enough were missing the simple flank with a dash archetype and I know it would be broken in pvp but they just gotta finally separate pvp into only two camps. No abilities at all and than we need a full fledge hero shooter like gamemode with siege aspects where abilities are actually buffed. Which d2 could fill the spot in the hero shooter genre of creating your own hero instead of premade ones and than the other side of the pvp community can enjoy what is effectively halo since they dont want abilities lol
If this "strife" is what ends up coming, I really hope that the supers are nothing like this. I hope they actually try to get at least a little bit creative there instead of "kinda like that but bleed"
A new subclass would be cool, but it's either a great DLC or a new subclass. Look at the points where we got new subclasses and look at the DLC as a whole. If we do get a subclass I don't think it will be till the last moments of D2.
Hope it's not called strife, I'm sick of subclasses starting with S. Stasis,Strand,Solar, and possibly Strife. I know it's a weird thing to complain about but it's weird at this point if we get a 4th one lol.
So we're not listing sources or even showing a screenshot of the leak itself, we're just blindly assuming that hes not reading from a word document that he himself made?
I hope we still get this on top of prismatic at some point. Prismatic though awesome as hell definitely seems easier and quicker to make than an entirely new damage type, that and it doesn't make sense to me to have two darkness but three light if theres supposed to be symmetry. Womder whats gonna come out now
I agree. I hope we do too. It does make sense to have three darkness subclasses. Destiny has always dealt in themes of symmetry. I think we will get one final darkness subclass/element, and new darkness Supers. It just may have been pushed back to the episodes after Final Shape. Bungie even said in an article, that there will be three darkness subclasses to reflect the three light ones. May just be at a later date.
From a business point of veiw, its a realy bad idea bungie hiding the reason that will really sell the new campaign, but releasing it in episodes could be a possibility, by the sounds of things final shape is story based some believe it could be d2's last expansion, changing the moddle to stories so relesing a new subclss in the first episode that has a red colour scheme could be likley. But still this could be a great way to make more money and bring in support for the game, and it doesn’t make sense why you wouldnt anounce or even slightly hint at it in the the reveal.
Nah if you see on the color spectrum the opposition colors to the light subclasses of orange(solar) =Dark Blue(Stasis) purple(void)= Green(Strand) and light Blue(Arc)=? Maybe Red But there have been themes to the inverses of each . Like Fire And Ice Chaos Theory and String Theory So in theory the third subclass would be in the opposite of what ever Arc or lightning is. It could be a yellow luster of dark light and sound. It could be a red burst of emotion that grounds but we wont know until its here.
Pretty sure the heavy trace rifle exotic is supposed to be akin to the traveler’s beam weapon. Having it not be a light based element doesn’t make sense. It could be triple elemental meaning it counts as solar, void and arc all at once? No exotic actually does that, only changing between elements or firing 3 separate projectiles of the different elements
if we go by opposites for subclasses, stasis is the opposite of solar which is the most obvious of the 3, strand is manipulation of environment whereas void is darkness and gravitation, and if we had to look at the opposite of electricity, it would fall under the same color spectrum that was shown in the video as the opposite of arc would be the charge, positive or negative. in shows and movies we've seen cosmic rays and the entire infrastructure of anything beyond as red, therefore the new subclass apart from being red, would be a power which cant be understood or rather a power which is unknown and darkness subclasses have been known to be categorised as unknown or dangerous. This last subclass if we do get another subclass to close the light and dark saga with 3 subclasses each, would need to be the end of all that is known. Siva could also be what the subclass has embedded in it due to being a golden age breakthrough that Clovis Bray merely tapped into what siva represented in its full extent
I highly doubt that warlocks will get another one and done super. Beyond light gave Hunters their one and done with Silence and Squall, warlocks got theirs with Needlestorm, now it’s the titan’s turn
Please please pleeeease let the titans have a one and done super. Solar is my favorite on titan, but I hate the fact that burning maul needs an exotic to make it a one and done when it should have already been that. We have throwing hammers as a roaming, no reason to have the maul as one as well.
Strife comes out of chaos and anger , u can compare destiny 2 light fall and final shape to marvel infinity war and endgame where both universe looks the exact a lot which gives me indication that someone will die in the final shape like widow girl died and sacrificed herself in marvel endgame and that’s prob gonna be zavala since also his voice actor died , if i am not wrong we might be able to gain that power after his death
feels like bungie will kill somebody important to awake the anger from the guardians. killing the ghost for example would be really sad also strafe reminds me hulk or jean (phoenix) from x men which their power are attached to their emotions
Cool video, but I'm trying to understand where this whole 6th subclass thing is even coming from? They said they aren't doing a new subclass and if they do try to throw something together for The Final Shape, 6 months is not long enough for it to be polished. I may have missed something but I really don't see a 6th subclass happening.
It wold be cool to get a stationary super for Hunter honestly. Like maybe it’s a banner of war radius but gives ultra instinct reaload and no flinch and double precision Damage. Cuts out audio for anyone inside. Name Ambient Fury
Hey man, great video. Would have to say though that trace rifle shown in the showcase was a tease at a weapon that imitates the beam the traveler used against the Witness, I would highly doubt that bit of info of it being this “strife” darkness subclass if it’s designed around the traveler like bungie said
@VargasTheOne I mean, they're just allowing themselves to get their hopes up. There'll probably never be a 3rd darkness subclass, and we should accept that

I hope you're right. Makes sense to give that as free content because it's more of an update for what we already have and save something brand new to the dlc. They already released the rocket pistols early, so I wouldn't be skeptical about your idea
This makes so much more sense, hope this ends up being the case
VINDICATION AND PEOPLE LAUGHED AT ME WHEN I SUGGESTED THIS
Earned my sub buddy. Proud of you keep up the hard work
I really want a darkness support class.
I know it's going to happen, it's just a matter of when. Ether way im here for it. love the video Red, keep them coming man! 💪
I can imagine in the final shape us losing against the witness in the raid in some brutal way, then we unlock strife out of anger/desperation and use that anger in the final big mission
I would love that! Sounds Amazing!
@@RedRixor, we slowly get exposed to this strife by the witness in the raid, and we somehow absorb it , so many different ways we can get this
@mkloven101 I think via the story would be better, since locking subclasses behind raids be kind of bad.
I know the darkness subclasses are related to the mind but when stasis came out i thought it was supposed to be atrophy or the lack of movement in a physical object, while strand was just a representation of string theory.
strife is just another name for the sword logic aka the final shape the witness wishes the universe to embody
The Titan area of effect super sounds like death and decay from WoW.
10:10 also not saying this is evidence, but if Strife DOES happen; the trace rifle is literally red lol
Didn't one of the devs say that trace rifle is gonna shoot a Traveler Terraform Beam?
I just want to skate with the class man
Hey @redrix what caused you to private your most recent video?
Not in final shape, but echoes, which comes out like a month after final shape.
I figured it’d be a nightmare/pyramid subclass and it makes perfect sense for the end of the light and dark saga.
Yo where did the latest vid go with the ‘trust me bro’ sources?
I cant remember and I cant find a video of the first runs of root to actually look at the 2nd encounter wall for root of nightmares. But looking at the 2 enemies coming in Final Shape heads they are the same symbols as at least one of the symbols that glow for the wipe mechanic. If there is a third glyph on that wall or anywhere else we actually might have a more definitive answer before bungie announces it or us playing Final Shape.
A heal based off DoT effects on enemies would be pretty cool if they wanted to add a survivability aspect to this. Especially if we have like a self-target AoE DoT effect. Think that'd be a new cool thing.
ever since that chair emote has been bugged that isn’t synced properly to your subclass and will cycle to a red chair had been brought back i’ve been convinced that’s just bungos version of a light tease for what’s to come
Still coping I’m hoping there is this subclass, however don’t think this leak is right (or I hope not)
Titan and warlock supers maybe just to me see the same, subclass seems one note.
And the big one for me which doesn’t make me believe it, that trace rifle is meant to be the traveller light beam, strife doesnt sound like that.
Keep up the good work man
When I think of rage in destiny I think of rhulk and tormentors and I guess calus and nezarec! When you deal enough damage to them they go into this beserk mode where they turn black and make loud angry sounds and they chase after you u can't think of any other enemy of the top of my head that do that and they're all desciples so it adds up I suppose
I hope we finally get a dash style ability in hunter with strafe
Hunter so far has embodied every flank and rouge style playstyle from every game except oddly enough were missing the simple flank with a dash archetype and I know it would be broken in pvp but they just gotta finally separate pvp into only two camps.
Sounds like some sort of blood magic to me, which I dig.
unfortunately i dont see how the traveler beam weapon can be a darkness element but the strife info sounds really cool
Bro took 10 min 16 seconds and 0.9 microseconds to finally tell us the leaks💀💀💀
I'm leaning more to mind control because darkness embodies control and order while the light is more chaotic like emotions
So we're not listing sources or even showing a screenshot of the leak itself, we're just blindly assuming that hes not reading from a word document that he himself made?
I want everything I paid for back. I don't care about a new subclass as much as I care about having all the content stolen from me returned.
I could see rage and chaos being the aspect of Strife, we may have to lose something to send our guardian into a incomprehensible rage.
Good luck! Great video!!
It would be so awesome if the Strife powers were similar to that of (Prototype) just pure rage
Do we know if we are getting another darkness subclass in final shape??
From a business point of veiw, its a realy bad idea bungie hiding the reason that will really sell the new campaign, but releasing it in episodes could be a possibility, by the sounds of things final shape is story based some believe it could be d2's last expansion, changing the moddle to stories so relesing a new subclss in the first episode that has a red colour scheme could be likley.
But still this could be a great way to make more money and bring in support for the game, and it doesn’t make sense why you wouldnt anounce or even slightly hint at it in the the reveal.
Titan should have Super with spikes like Alex Mercer in Prototype game.
Nah titan should have a ranged super. We don’t need another melee based super. It’s getting old
I like what you’ve done here! Thank you.
Honestly since it’s delayed till June they might as well give us a new darkness subclass at the end of the campaign
They should make titans srife like the original but add it to where we are faster, resilient, and act more so like doom guy or kratos’ bloodlust
I think I saw a leak recently that Strife would get released the moment the Witness is killed in a raid.
I’m hoping it would be like when rhulk mentioned luster and his enrage mechanic
Hmmmm... ST-asis, ST-rand, and ST-rife. Why do I see a pattern....
Is it just me, or did anybody else notice the Ager's Scepter statis core in that trace rifle? That just looked like an Ager's ornament.
Nah if you see on the color spectrum the opposition colors to the light subclasses of orange(solar) =Dark Blue(Stasis) purple(void)= Green(Strand) and light Blue(Arc)=? Maybe Red
But there have been themes to the inverses of each . Like Fire And Ice
Chaos Theory and String Theory
So in theory the third subclass would be in the opposite of what ever Arc or lightning is. It could be a yellow luster of dark light and sound. It could be a red burst of emotion that grounds but we wont know until its here.
"What if maybe this power comes from our emotions"

How about posting a source?
I created a whole subclass for all Three classes based on Nightmares from the moon, i called it Rammification.
Im fine with this. We dont get siva but we could still use siva fashion with it since its red haha. Would still be fitting
We have spiky (stasis), wiggly (strand), now we need gloopy (the next subclass)
Yeah, yeah, but does it have red blink on warlock?
I highly doubt that warlocks will get another one and done super. Beyond light gave Hunters their one and done with Silence and Squall, warlocks got theirs with Needlestorm, now it’s the titan’s turn
Not impossible tho, Nova Bomb and Needle are the only one and done supers for Warlocks. Well doesn't really count as it fits it's own tier.
@@RafaelHipolit0 I guess, but if you leave the light supers out of it, titans are next
Please please pleeeease let the titans have a one and done super. Solar is my favorite on titan, but I hate the fact that burning maul needs an exotic to make it a one and done when it should have already been that. We have throwing hammers as a roaming, no reason to have the maul as one as well.
I thought what could make our guardian mad....we might lose our ghost in the beginning and get it back at the end, just a story idea who know now
Strife comes out of chaos and anger , u can compare destiny 2 light fall and final shape to marvel infinity war and endgame where both universe looks the exact a lot which gives me indication that someone will die in the final shape like widow girl died and sacrificed herself in marvel endgame and that’s prob gonna be zavala since also his voice actor died , if i am not wrong we might be able to gain that power after his death
feels like bungie will kill somebody important to awake the anger from the guardians. killing the ghost for example would be really sad also strafe reminds me hulk or jean (phoenix) from x men which their power are attached to their emotions
would it make more since if red death was a strife exotic and not the traviler beem wep...???? just saying.
Unless they have a new trace rifle the one u showed from the showcase is gonna shoot a traveler beam
Strife bring tied to emotions is an excellent idea.
Didn’t bungie confirm we aren’t getting a new subclass but instead new supers for some of our light subclasses?
Cool video, but I'm trying to understand where this whole 6th subclass thing is even coming from? They said they aren't doing a new subclass and if they do try to throw something together for The Final Shape, 6 months is not long enough for it to be polished. I may have missed something but I really don't see a 6th subclass happening.
It wold be cool to get a stationary super for Hunter honestly. Like maybe it’s a banner of war radius but gives ultra instinct reaload and no flinch and double precision Damage. Cuts out audio for anyone inside. Name Ambient Fury
I just want a subclass to not be the center of a DLC, pull a taken king, give it to us and leave it alone from the campaign
Hey man, great video. Would have to say though that trace rifle shown in the showcase was a tease at a weapon that imitates the beam the traveler used against the Witness, I would highly doubt that bit of info of it being this “strife” darkness subclass if it’s designed around the traveler like bungie said
Also didnt bungie confirm that final shape wouldnt include a new darkness subclass
@@lukethepotatokingan employee mentioned there not being one also, let people dream
@VargasTheOne I mean, they're just allowing themselves to get their hopes up. There'll probably never be a 3rd darkness subclass, and we should accept that
im really hope we get it because this sound awesome and like a dream tbh i feel it be the make or break for the expansion
great content keep going!
