I returnied it after the original video but then repurchased it for the trip. While I think the bag is great if you’re carrying it on your shoulder, I absolutely hated it in too if my luggage. It kept sliding off and around the suitcase. The luggage sleeve is too big and thus leaves too much wiggle room on your suitcase. Ended up being a fail for me for that purpose. So glad you love yours. Just wasn’t the best for me.
I have both and my longchamp has been my workhorse for over 15 years. It has been all over the world with me. Tami was a later edition but love them both.
Hi Lisa. I have the Longchamp Le Pliage expandable and it’s wonderful as you can extend it need be. However I also have the Tumi which I always throw in my carry-on when travelling. So that way I always have an extra bag if I do more shopping as it folds up quite nicely. I couldn’t decide so I bought both and love them both. I have 2 daughters and they both have the Longchamp expandable and love it. It is a bit more $ than the Tumi but worth it. Hard decision. Can’t wait to see what you choose.
@mtbadua1 so I originally returned them both. I repurchased the Tumi to take on my recent trip to Europe and ended of really disliking it. The bag would not stay on top of my suitcase. It kept sliding off and falling around the back, despite me holding it by the handles, too. I just wish they would make the luggage sleeve smaller. It’s just too big IMHO. Glad you love yours, though!!💜
This *yutulu* tote is beautifully colored, very sturdy and the perfect size. Not too small, not too big. I look forward to joining my rotation hand-pink-waving
Hi! Lisa, I would keep and use the Longchamp! Only because I love their bags. I think if you used it, you would fall In love too. But then again I don't 3to walk around New York! You'll make the right decision for you. Have a nice weekend.😊
Love that! I love the concept of the tumi but it slides way too much around the top of my suitcase (the luggage sleeve is too big) so returned that one.
Both are nice bags. Tumi carry’s more for you and folds up fully….Longchamp is classic, but the flap always a bit fussy……several of my friends have nylon Prada totes or goyard?! ☺
My first thought would be the tumi since it folds and you can put it away, but would you take time to do it will shopping. If you are carrying a small bag then it would not fit so where do you put it. Carrying in the hand would get annoying after awhile. The longchamp can be put on the shoulder but would look awkward with a crossbody bag but you can carry it on your wrist. I think it is something that you will need a lot. I would keep both and see what works best. You just have to test drive them both.
I have the Longchamp and love it for throwing folded up flat in a suitcase when traveling for a beach tote or for carrying home souvenirs. One point I thought of is are you really going to want to carry a handbag as big (Marc Jacobs or Birkin) as another tote with your filled tumi tote just so it can be stored after? I like the Longchamp folded on a shoulder with a crossbody smaller bag. I would say keep the Longchamp and if your finding you really need that extra space you can always re-purchase the Tumi!
Tumi. The handles on the Longchamp are a pain if you’re really wanting to carry it folded inside another bag, even if you get the hand held version over the shoulder one. I have a small collection of Longchamp shoulder bags (Nick J Snell’s influence 😆) but I use them when I know I’m bringing things home. Even then, I get miffed they don’t fold up small enough to fit in my bags so I just have a double bag kinda day.
i saw you ended up returning them both. i was going to say in my research, e pliage has an expandable tote and the tumi, you cat attach the ouch you fold it into as a pocket inside and there is supposed to be a hidden zipper section in the front pocket...
I was just looking at Longchamp bags, and they make a larger le pliage. I can’t see using the trolley sleeve on the Tumi because the bag lacks structure.
The Tumi is the best bag for your needs. It hold more, zips closed when filled with several large items and it folds up better than the Longchamp. You can't really do much with the stiff Longchamp handles... I love Longchamp and own several of their bags; I just find their handles a bit fussy.
Hey Lisa! I can only speak on my longchamp experience. I have a couple different sizes for my longchamp totes. It’s the perfect tote for my errands and city commute. Plus, they have some amazing colors that I think you would enjoy😘
Hi Lisa, ask your self if you are looking for more practicality or aesthetics, then you may find it easier to decide. Size shouldn't be the deciding factor between these two bags. I don't think you will be carrying more boxes than Longchamp can hold, otherwise your bag will be too heavy! And often, if you have boxes in your bag, you can't use the zipper anyway, so don't worry about the "annoying flap". This is just my opinion. Have a nice weekend. Irina
Hi Lisa! I’m guessing you have this figured out by now but I wanted to tell you my favorite. My daughter lives and works in Manhattan and we both love MZ Wallace. You probably see them all over NYC because the line was started by two women who are native New Yorkers. I’ve been hooked since I first saw the black metro tote in Saks many years ago. My daughter and I now have more than I want to admit but I find them chic, lightweight, well designed and perfect for most of my needs. Love my Tumi backpack for long flights though! I hope you’re enjoying this new phase! Love your channel:)).
I’ve looked at a couple MZ Wallace bags when I was still in KC. I know they have a ton of options though so I’ll have to take a look the next time I’m at Saks. Thanks for the recommendation!❤️
Hey there, Lisa. This is a tough one; there’s an argument for either of these. However, if you’re more concerned with carrying a lot more items then, the Just in Case Tote would be the way to go I feel. You’ll probably be carrying an aesthetically pleasing handbag anyway, so you don’t have to worry in that regard. And it has a lower profile once you fold it up. However, if you don’t always have many things to return, then maybe the Longchamp? I don’t know if this is a concern, but the Longchamp could double as a weekender or a beach bag. I hope some or any of this is helpful. 🤷🏾♀️
They are both great bags and in similar price ranges. For what you are talking about I would use the Tumi more, just because once you’re done with it, you can put it away and no one is the wiser. I like the Longchamp esthetic, but once it’s empty, unless you are putting your handbag in it, it would become cumbersome to carry around in the City, I’m going to look at the Tumi tote, maybe to replace my Neverful, it looks like it holds more and is more pliable for airplane travel…..Thanks for the video. Enjoyed the review. PS, I too prefer more put together totes, than a basic store plastic bag to run errands.
I ended up returning them both. I realized I didn’t need to spend money on a bag just to return things. Now I just take a reusable tote from target or wherever and carry a larger handbag so I can fold up the reusable bag and put it in my handbag after I’m done.
@@luxuryandlifeinthemiddle Absolutely fantastic outcome. Both bags are great....but the cost for what they provide???? Hmmmm. My wife uses the Longchamp bags a lot and my daughter has inherited the love of them but we all put a store branded bag in our bags for when we need a little more space. Much better than carrying around a bigger bag than you need. My problem is that I will probably fill the bag I carry so I opt for a sling or a small backpack most of the time. Love the outcome. Great video as well. Thanks for the reply!
Great video and will be helpful if others are trying to decide which to go with. But I'm going to make a case for keeping both. Tumi for travel and Longchamp for town!🤣 I think the Tumi looks too big for town and I think the Longchamp tucked away and on your shoulder will look nicer and great for grocery shopping at the end of a day out. But for travel days the Tumi looks excellent and I think would be an excellent protector bag to put over a nice travel bag under the seat on a plane.
Lisa, have you considered getting the econyl baguette tote Fendi released for the 25th anniversary? the one that Meredith's husband liked and encouraged her to get. I'm not sure about the dimensions but it looks big enough, it's foldable and at comes with a hook on the outside like the nano baguettes. The only issue I could see with it is getting noticeably dirty since it only came in 3 light colors, or you not liking those colors for that matter, but i think you might still be able to source it
Goodness, why are you returning so much? If it’s that serious, just shop in person to begin with. You really hurt the store you return to if you didn’t shop with them to begin with.
I just watched your packing for Paris video and saw you kept the TUMI. Excellent choice. Love mine, so handy
I returnied it after the original video but then repurchased it for the trip. While I think the bag is great if you’re carrying it on your shoulder, I absolutely hated it in too if my luggage. I was just looking at the expandable version. Might need to check that one out.
@@luxuryandlifeinthemiddle maybe exchange the Longchamp one you have for the expandable one and do a comparison with the Tumi.
Great idea!
Same. I love both my expandable longchamp and tumi tote. Keep both 😅

Both, I love them both for travel!
Very true!!
I have both. Love both. Keep both. (But, Tumi if I just HAD to choose.)
Love that! I love the concept of the tumi but it slides way too much around the top of my suitcase (the luggage sleeve is too big) so returned that one.

Tumi, so great for travel and the size. I don’t like the flap thing on the Le pliage, always gets in my way.
Glad I’m not the only one that feels that way!

Great points. And you’re being a very bad influence telling me to keep both 🤣😈

Thank you for your insight. And I might just have to suck it up and carry 2 bags.

I was just looking at Longchamp bags, and they make a larger le pliage.

I’ll have to see if they have a larger one. I think I have the largest though with the long handles.

Thanks Irina! Great points.
I have both - don’t like the folding issues with the Longchamp - my vote is Tumi
Thanks, Susan!

Thanks for understanding my #firstworldproblem if not wanting to carry around an unattractive tote! Made me feel better ❤️🩹

@iu1191 thanks for watching!💜
I just watched her packing for Paris video and it looks like she bought the TUMI again, as that was her personal sized bag for her trip.
Longchamp 😊
❤️
Thank you, I just subscribed.
Thank you! Hope the video helped you!💜
I have the tumi I love it
Awesome!

Fiona I love the idea of using the Tumi to protect your handbag on an airplane. Genius!
I don't think i can take credit for that idea💕
I say keep the tumi they have a better customer service in my experience.
Good to know. Thank you!
Look at The Row, nylon Sam tote bag
Thanks, Neal
Longchamp of course…
Thanks, Rita!

I saw that back in November when it was released. It’s a great idea. I can’t remember how big it got but I’ll ask my SA about it. Great idea!
Goodness, why are you returning so much? If it’s that serious, just shop in person to begin with. You really hurt the store you return to if you didn’t shop with them to begin with.
Thanks for the feedback
Or she can shop online and do whatever she pleases too.
