It makes him look like Mime, the comedic, doomed plotter in the preceding opera SIEGFRIED. Sit (or stand) STILL, fix your gaze on one point in the distance, and SING, Mr. Rydl. When it's time for a gesture, gesture slowly, with mass. There's not much a singer can do about that-- your voice is what it is. But he shouldn't be taking on a role like this. I would advise him to stick with smaller-theater basso-buffos like Dr. Bartolo in THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO and either Bartolo or Basilio in THE BARBER OF SEVILLE.
I think Mr. Rydl is pretty small person in height, and we could see it earlier in comparison with the other characters who was with him on the stage before this cut out scene, so he can let himself be mobile and agile with his dimensions, even in this role
And Mr. Salimen have a big stage presence, yes, but with his flabby and non-intensive singing this massiveness and restraint in his presence at this video are not work at all, you still can see, that he is nice and smooth my opinion
