One of the fundamental rules of stage-directing is: to give a character gravitas, seriousness, to make him a force to be reckoned with, you have him stay still, or move slowly and deliberately. Hagen is one of the most serious characters in opera, very dangerous, very deceptive, absolutely ruthless, and a long-term planner. And his "watch" monologue is where he reveals his plan to the audience for the first time. For him to be jerking around and making faces the way he does just torpedoes his standing as a seriously dangerous character. It makes him look like Mime, the comedic, doomed plotter in the preceding opera SIEGFRIED. Sit (or stand) STILL, fix your gaze on one point in the distance, and SING, Mr. Rydl. When it's time for a gesture, gesture slowly, with mass. Well, here's how it should look, and sound:

And sound-wise, Rydl lacks depth and upper resonance, he sounds two-dimensional and woolly. There's not much a singer can do about that-- your voice is what it is. But he shouldn't be taking on a role like this. I would advise him to stick with smaller-theater basso-buffos like Dr. Bartolo in THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO and either Bartolo or Basilio in THE BARBER OF SEVILLE.

I think Mr. Rydl is pretty small person in height, and we could see it earlier in comparison with the other characters who was with him on the stage before this cut out scene, so he can let himself be mobile and agile with his dimensions, even in this role

And Mr. Salimen have a big stage presence, yes, but with his flabby and non-intensive singing this massiveness and restraint in his presence at this video are not work at all, you still can see, that he is nice and smooth
      my opinion

@@163fank Oho! You are probably listening to his (Matti Salminen's) late work, after he passed his prime and lost his ability to really lift his weight. (I noticed it first around the turn of the millennium.) Listen to him when he was 40 years old:

thx for the recommendations 😊 I really appreciate Hagen but I have (to) clear expectations how he should act so it’s difficult for me to find a video which fits my taste

Hi, are you a stage-director? I have a few questions to ask, can you give me your contacts? Thank you in advance

Ein bisschen zu hektisch schnell. Als wollten sie schnell in die Pause. Da hab ich schon wesentlich bessere Versionen gehört.
