Mit dem Stück: Einzug der Gäste auf der Wartburg, aus Tannhäuser, stelle ich euch heute fünf Instrumente des genialen Erfinders der ersten Kontrabasstuba (1845), V. F. Červený vor.
Die fünfte Stimme habe ich auf einem Kaiserhelikon mit Walzenventilmaschine gespielt.
Das Instrument ist von ca.1920 und kommt aus Schweden. Deswegen hat es einen Zweitonzug als drittes Ventil. Die Bohrung beträgt 21 mm durchgängig und der Schallbecher misst satte 62 cm!

Die Stimme 4 ist auf einer B-Tuba gespielt die in Malmö an der Oper ihren Dienst getan hat.
Ich habe diese von Tore Grön bekommen. Sie hat einen Schalldurchmesser von 49 cm und eine Höhe von 114 cm. Die Bohrung beträgt 21 mm. Im Grandioso habe ich auf eine Es-Tuba gewechselt.
Die Bohrung beträgt 1. & 2. Ventil 21,2 mm und 3. & 4. Ventil 22,2 mm. Die Höhe beträgt 105 cm. Eine echte Es-Kaisertuba. Die dritte Stimme ist ebenfalls auf diesem Instrument gespielt.
Das Bariton auf Stimme 2 ist ebenfalls mit einer Walzenventilmaschine ausgestattet. Der Klang ist sehr schön weich und die Intonation überraschend gut! Eben echte Handwerkskunst. Die Bohrung beträgt 1. - 3. Ventil 15,2 mm und das 4. 17,2 mm.
Die Tenortuba als Solo- und Führende Stimme ist ebenfalls ganz fantastisch zu spielen.
Auch diese stammt aus Schweden und hat einen Zweitonzug als drittes Ventil. Die Höhe beträgt 74 cm und der Schallbecher hat einen Durchmesser von 26 cm.
Die Bohrung ist 1. & 2. Ventil 15 mm und 3. & 4. Ventil 16 mm
Ein sehr schöner und charmanter Klang, wie ich finde.
Leider besitze ich keine Original Mundstücke, deswegen habe ich auf modernen gespielt. Aber der Klang ist trotzdem einzigartig.

Homage to V. F. Červený and Richard Wagner
With the piece: Entry of the guests on the Wartburg, from Tannhäuser, I present you five instruments of the brilliant inventor of the first contrabasstuba (1845), V. F. Červený.
I played the fifth part on a Kaiserhelikon with a walzenvalve machine.
The instrument is from around 1920 and comes from Sweden. That's why it has a two-tone slide as a third valve. The bore is 21 mm throughout and the bell is a full 62 cm! Thanks to Nils-Olof Bergström.
Part 4 is played on a BBb tuba that was used at the Malmö Opera.
I got this from Tore Grön. It has a bell diameter of 49 cm and is 114 cm high. The bore is 21 mm. In the Grandioso I switched to an Eb tuba.
The bore is 21.2 mm for the 1st & 2nd valve and 22.2 mm for the 3rd & 4th valve.
The height is 105 cm. A real E-flat kaisertuba. The third voice is also played on this instrument.
The baritone on part 2 is also equipped with a walzenvalve machine. The sound is very soft and the intonation surprisingly good! Real craftsmanship. The bore is 1st - 3rd valve 15.2 mm and the 4th 17.2 mm.
The tenor tuba as a solo and leading part is also fantastic to play.

A very nice and charming sound in my opinion.
Unfortunately I don't have any original mouthpieces, so I played modern ones. But the sound is still unique.
