This is a superb compilation and has settled a - slight difference - between my dear Lady Wife. (I was wrong, by the way... until hearing this recording she didn't actually know everything). Mother Nature's balance is restored and I might get my tea after all ! Real quality sound recording (unlike others round here!) Thanks for sharing.
thanks for uploading this, without it playing out the window, im not sure i'd have managed to lure my cat back in on this silent winters night! haha! the look of confusion on his face! "..but..wheres the birds?!"
Many thanks for this video. It was well done. I have used it in a training programme for disabled people with Aphasia. I hope you don't mind. Many thanks.
Beautiful song. We have many blackbirds around us, who are screaming out their war-cries to protect their territory. We also have some who sing at night, like my video response...!
The most beautiful pictures and the most wonderful music. Beautiful is this world, let him take as long as possible. Thank you for the wonderful moments in this winter evening:)
I didn't realise it's been 13 years since I posted this comment! I adopted and lost a sweet baby cat in all that time. Now I'm playing it for the cat I adopted 2 years ago, let's see if she reacts!
Wonderful! As I was young the air was full of bird sounds, now there is jus traffic noise and the birds are gone. Thank you for posting this vid on YT.
Wonderful sounds of many birds and my own bird was reacting directly :-)))))))) The list of the birds you can read below. 00:00 blackbird 00:31 blue tit 00:49 great tit 01:09 yellowhammer 01:38 hoopoe 01:49 skylark 02:12 nightingale 02:41 thrush nightingale 03:09 swift 03:24 chimney swallow 03:44 grey wagtail 04:05 chaffinch 04:19 sedge warbler 04:36 wren
Very beautiful bird sounds, Jeannette. They are a bit alien to me, coming from Europe. But some of the songs sound familiar. I did not know there was a Eurasian Hoopoe. There is a bird which looks the same, but comes from Africa. That was a surprise to me. And of course, the Skylark -- of whom Percy Bysshe Shelley wrote his great poem, "Ode to a Skylark". And my favourite -- the Nightingale, of whom books and poems and songs have been written. Such beauty in God's creation. Thank you for this video, Jeannette. Take care now. Many hugs. Liz. xo
Every Blackbird's vocalization (not really a "song" when doing warnings) is different. I heard one every morning in Dorset in '96, Whitchurch Canonicorum, that I wrote a jazz piece based on. I also have a snippet on my website, habitableworlds. I gave a talk in Italian on "Un Merlo Buon' Veneziano," A Good Venetian Merlo(t), pun intended. Some of it, in Italian, is alos on my website.
When I was around 4, my dumb dad gave me and my brother each a b.b. gun and said, "Don't shoot robins." (Mich state bird.) A few moments after hearing him say that, my brother shot a bird. We ran up to it and it was fluttering up-side down bleeding with its beak hanging out the back of its head! Too much psychological stuff to mention hear, suffice it to say that I went down a long, bad road before I came to my senses. PLEASE DON'T GIVE B.B. GUNS AS TOYS! GOD DIDN'T CREATE BIRDS TO BE SHOT!!!
What is the bird I can hear in the background while the Nightingale is singing? You can hear it well around 2:30 ~ 2:35 I heard this bird just a few days ago while I was outside enjoying the sunshine =) that little bird sounds so peaceful and gentle, I really want to hear more of it. It's just a shame that here I can always hear a noisy road. P.S. ty for making this video =) 5*s
When you search Hassan Malouf on CD Baby he has a piano song that he recorded called "Birdwind" and when he recorded it the birds actrually would chime in on the musical spaces. Just search his name, its very nature like sounding piano music and peaceful, just close your eyes and relax to it
my dog goes crazy every time she hears birds chirping in the backyard...so i brought her in my room to listen to this, and it was hilarious...she stared at the computer, turned her head, and started barking...then she was looking up at the ceiling, thinking the birds were hiding up there haha.
This is great, my cat loves this so much! She even curled up in a ball on my lap while listening to this, she never does this. I'm going to play this more often.
Thank you for posting this, its fabulous. They sing for themselves not for us, but its wonderful to share it. So much power from tiny lungs. To me this IS music, and beats anything that man creates on his peculiar electronics wizardry.
This is the sound I love when I now spring begins... it always makes me feel so happy inside and I'm so glad to walk trough the nature to hear this wonderful sounds of birds.
I'm in Lethbridge Alberta, and I've gotta ask - WHERE THE FUCK HAVE ALL THE BIRDS GONE??? It's as though Rachel Carson's "SILENT SPRING" has finally come to pass. It's the kinda shit that I have to just let it make me feel depressed and suicidal about, 'cause if I don't then it makes me feel HOMICIDAL about it - Whomsoever is responsible for killing all of the birds should be made to learn these bird calls and THEY can go shiver outside and make the music, while the rest of us throw scraps of bread to them. And that would be a START towards making things right. I swear, this is the type of thing that makes you wanna fly an airplane into a building. What bothers me even more is how nobody else even seems to give a shit!
who else got here cuz of Google assistant?
general andriy same lol

I had the laptop on my chest in bed and my cats nearly mauled me.
Don't have cats. They're evil.
Richard S. they aren't evil it's just a myth or an opinion
They have toxoplasmosis and that is very evil. 30% of all people in the US have toxoplasmosis. That is - all cat owners have it essentially.
Richard S. I was about to mention that-- I do believe it's true. I have horrible balance and always have (that's one of the symptoms.)
WTF. All cat owners have toxoplasmosis?!?!
same here :)) he is so cute walking around the speakers on my screen and keyboard, now he is exploring the whole room looking after something xD
what is great about blackbirds is that they are also very common birds even in towns so you can enjoy their song even at home
Many thanks for this video. It was well done. I have used it in a training programme for disabled people with Aphasia. I hope you don't mind. Many thanks.
Come here from Google Assistant. Tell me I'm not the only one.
