Yes, the Envoy S Metered (now the IQ Gateway) has both Ethernet and WiFi. You can connect up to 13 Enphase AC Batteries (model IQ7-B1200-LN-I-INT01-RV0) per 20A circuit. However, note that these AC Batteries are discontinued, and Enphase has transitioned to the new IQ Battery 5P (model IQBATTERY-5P-1P-ROW) in Australia and NZ, which you can find at AC Solar Warehouse : www.acsolarwarehouse.com/shop/enphase-iq-battery-5-19718#att.
Although USA residential home is only one phase...we have a split phase...hence...two hot lines....each one at 120 volts...hence do we need two envoys ??? Thanks.
Good video. Just to get an understanding prior to getting a solar system installed, I was wondering how this is installed on 3 phase. Are groups of panels allocated to each of the phases or is it collective and then split into each of the phases? Can each phase be monitored? Or do I just see a 'total' in the app
Hi Timothy, 3 phase installations typically have a third of the solar panels on each phase. For example, if there are 20 solar panels, there would be 7 on two of the phases and 6 on the other. A 3-phase Enphase trunk cable is used to achieve this. In saying this, it does depend on the roof and how the installer designs it. Each phase has a CT, and you will see the sum of the energy generated across the 3 phases. Below is a link to a video which shows the operation of the App. Hope this helps. ua-cam.com/video/1YCkS8pP3ck/v-deo.html
Ok brilliant, and then the neural lines goes to the neutral bus bar on the switch board? Just drawing up a final wiring diagram for my electricians. Many thanks
how does it meassure the production of individual pv-panels / output of single inverters? in this scheam production seems to be only meassured in cumulation . sry for my english, im not a native speaker. :)
@@ACSolarWarehouse thx for the fast reply! ...i wasnt expecting any sort of wireless connection as envoys can link to such a big amount of microinverters.
The Envoy collects individual panel data via a power line carrier (PLC) connection to the microinverters. This data is collected every few minutes from each micro. The CTs provide total instantaneous production and consumption data which is used for other purposes - like export power limiting.
Technically, any AC coupled battery can be used with an Enphase system. The advantage of using Enphase AC batteries is that the battery operating data can be seen on the Enlighten monitoring platform. An AC battery from another manufacturer will have it's own (separate) monitoring system.
Very informative. I enjoyed how your walked through the process calm and cool. thank you for the video.
Does it have an Ethernet port? And 20a battery breaker should have said 20a Per battery? Upto 80a as max 4? Unless 2nd breaker added?

No, just one Envoy required.

How many modules to connect? Instead of 3 ,we can connect how much
How about with the battery, does it have a CT?
Should there be any problems if the envoys is behind a rcd. The same phase as inverter breaker which are not behind a rcd
Hi, an RCD in the circuit does not negatively impact the Envoys ability to communicate with the microinverters.
From the engage cable, the green goes to the earth busbar and what about the neutral line? Thanks
The neutral line is connected to the blue conductor in the engage cable and the active is connected to the brown conductor.

so how does it monitor each panel if there's only CT for all panels?

Is this actually the Envoy-S ? the one ive been sent doesnt have any current transformers ?
In Australia, the Envoy-S Metered is supplied with 2 x 100A CTs. Not sure about other jurisdictions.
how to restart mine got disconnected from internet or router ? thanks
Here's a link link to a video that may help...enphase.com/en-au/support/how-do-i-update-password-my-home-wi-fi-network
Can any battery be used with the Envoy-s-Metered ? or it must be only Enphase ?
