Wilt was a smart person. Scoring 100 points in a game is not only unbelievable but also the perfect number. 100 sounds better than 101 or 103 points if you ask me
Big Blue the thing is there would be players who would be pissed if there teammate did that. The coach might be pissed as well. It has to be a star on a shit team to beat it, playing a team said Individual Player would have to play multiple minutes and just have a green light and have it fed to them. That’s the reason why Mr. Mamba had 81.
Pres Rock You can't adjust the records books based on perceptions and opinions. The records are based on facts. Events that took place. If you tried to adjust the record book based on opinions that concern era and competitive context, things would get crazy and confusing quick. People wouldn't be able to agree on much of anything. Some people actually think that the competition was better in the 60s because they only had eight or nine teams, meaning that all the best players were all on those select teams, and not spread out over 30 teams. Rules are also constantly changing too. Is Michael Jordan's 69 point game more impressive than Kobe's 81 because Kobe didn't have to deal with hand checking? Is Steph Curry a better point guard than Magic Johnson because the modern athlete is far superior to athletes of the past, meaning Steph has greater competition, so Curry's accomplishments are greater than Magic's? The record book would quickly turn into a joke list of records based on biases from "expert" opinions. Personally, I don't want that. Just keep a record of the events that took place, and let the fans debate over it. Its part of the fun anyway.
R Quest I got 54 winning streak with the rockets Starting Lineup Pg Chris Paul Sg Mike Conley Sf James Harden He Was 6' Pf Ryan Anderson C Clint Capela
The Bucks didn't "break" the Lakers 33 game win streak. The Lakers had their 3 tops scorers (Goodrich, West, AND McMillan) all shoot poor-to-HORRIBLE that night. West stated flat out that the Lakers LOST that game, that the Bucks didn't win it.
1) Russells 11 rings 2) Wilts 55 Rebounds 3) Wilts most shot attempts in a game with no misses (17) 4) Wallace's Technical Fouls in a season Nobody will ever pass these
Russell Ham that one is actually possible. Stockton averaged 10.5 assist through 19 seasons. And Magic averaged 11.4 assist through only 12 seasons and retired during his prime. If Magic never had HIV he would've past Stockton's record if he played at least 5 more seasons if you do the math.
Oshodi Sherifdeen He cant, back when Wallace played you didn't get suspended for technicals but now you do, so it's almost impossible to get as many as Wallace got ( I think he had over 40 in a season, Boogie usually gets about 20 per season)
The only unbreakable records are really the rebound records. No one will ever come close to Wilt's 55 boards in a game. Probably never hit 40 again. Same with Wilt's career average and single season average. Never ever.
Justin Peralta Overrated is the wrong word. I mean, he was still the best rebounder of his time. But the rule changes and change in play has made it all but impossible. Namely, the defensive 3 second rule and the fact that teams take 20 less shots per game, plus the rise in efficiency means less missed shots. I mean, 16 teams played yesterday and not one TEAM got 55 boards. It's just not going to happen.
Justin Peralta he'd own everyone on the glass. He probably wouldn't average 25 or so because of the pace, but who's gonna keep him off the glass? Especially when playing a team with out good rebounding centers. Too strong, too athletic.
Kobe also scored 55 in a half... Kobe could have easily scored 100 in a game if he were trying to. (In the 81 point game he wasn't trying in the first half and scored 55 in the 2nd half)... but Kobe doesn't play anymore. Devin Booker isn't Kobe.
Players won't score 100 points if they keep getting benched in the 4th quarter. Also the point that you made about there being no 3's in Wilt's time, in my opinion makes Wilt's 100 point game more remarkable than any 100 point game done by mostly 3's in today's game.
In order to become a reality that someone will break the Wilt Chamberlain's 100 Point Game (around 101 or 102 points) are in three ways: 1. An NBA Superstar should be both physically & mentally healthy. 2. There'll be no INTENTIONAL FOULING from an opposition team (aka no Hack-A-Shaq strategy). 3. If possible, more & more OTs on a game. And if possible as well, if Mr Mike should include this list that someone could beat the most number of OTs or overtime in a single game which is there's a single game that had 6 OTs & it happened on January 6, 1951 on a match between Indianapolis Olympians & Rochester Royals: www.cheatsheet.com/sports/nba-the-3-longest-basketball-games-ever-played.html/?a=viewall In which I hope that in the near future, there'll be an NBA game match that made a 7 OTs on that night and an NBA Superstar even broke a record for the highest number of points in a single game on that same event. Killing two birds in one stone, and that will be exciting!!!
Wilt did it without the 3 point line, while the knicks were intentionally fouling the rest of his team to keep the ball away from him in the fourth quarter, and scored 100 with 42 seconds on the clock with no OT; so your last two points don't matter. It should be easier than ever to score 100 points now that everyone is shooting 3's constantly and freely because many players are horrible at defense nowadays, and are hampered by way too many regulations, like the gather step and the banning of hand-checking. Wilt dominated the game despite playing in an era where there weren't really any rules to help him, and defensive players could get away with all kinds of shady crap. Context means a lot in these situations IMO.
Irl I got a double double with blocks and rebounds. Would've had a quadruple double because I only had 4 points since people were ball hogging and I was literally open in the paint and had 6 assists, would've had 13 if people could hit open layups. I would've gotten quadruple double if people knew how to play and if that one guy didn't ball hog the entire time. So let's just say I had a quadruple double "technically."
Great video as always Mike! Would like to a see a video with NBA Records that are unbreakable or pretty much nearly impossible e.g 55 rebounds in a game, 8 straight championships, A.C. Green's Ironman streak
Bill Russell's "rebounds in Finals games". #2 is WIlt - at about HALF the total. Lebron has an outside chance at #3, has to make one more Final and have a fair series - then he'll be at a hair ahead of Elgin Baylor at ABOUT 1 THIRDS of Bill's total. Honorable mention to Wilt's "50 point+ games" record - where he managed more of those in ONE SEASON (45 in that crazy 50.4 season) than #2 (MJ) managed in his entire career (32). BTW - the next season, Wilt "only" had *30* such games - and a 44 PPG average.
probably someone like Klay or RW could do it. I mean Klay had 37 in a quarter and 60 in 3quarters. So for him it should be possible, but I guess he cares too much about winning. Maybe in an losing effort like with Devin Booker, when a player from a tanking team gets hot they could get him to score 100 with force feeding and always fouling the opposition in order to get more posessions.
It's safe to say a lot of Wilt's records will never ever be broken. For instance, Wilt had 45 games in the 1961-62 season where he scored 50+ points. No other player has had more than ten 50-point games in a season. In his CAREER, Michael Jordan had "only" 39 games where he scored 50+ points.
Wilt has several records that will not fall. 100 points, 48.5 minutes a game for a season, 55 rebounds in a game. 22.5 career rebounds, and most impressively 20k women in a nba career. All hail the King!
the problem with 3's is you can double team a 3 point shooter and they'll be done but you can't double team a 300 pound 7'2 center who has good space awareness
The thing to remember about Wilt's 100: It is recalled that once he got to 80 points, he was the only player to score any baskets for the Lakers aside from one jumper from Tom Meschery. His entire team was trying to get him to 100, intentionally holding back on easy layups to hand him the ball, inbounding it to him every time, stuff like that. Coach Frank McGuire even pulled his other 4 starters, and had his team foul as often as possible, so they could inbound to Wilt. It is also worth mentioning that while the Lakers were doing everything they could to get Wilt to 100, the Knicks did everything they could to keep him from reaching 100. They would foul every player except Wilt to keep him off the line, or they would literally quintuple (5) team him to try and keep him from reaching the rim. Seems like a fun game to watch, with an interesting "Good vs Evil" vibe around it.
predictions to break records mentioned: Ben Simmons/James Harden, 2018 Warriors (maybe with this year added), Malik Monk? (or no one), Devin Booker or Russell Westbrook or Klay Thompson (and I hate to say it but Lamelo ball-hog)
Wilt was a smart person. Scoring 100 points in a game is not only unbelievable but also the perfect number. 100 sounds better than 101 or 103 points if you ask me

Aditya Parmar if his pace stayed the same (which it wouldn't have cause he would get tired) klay would've gotten 97 points in 47 minutes.

MJ had 32 such games in his career - slightly higher than Wilt's #2 SEASON at 30.
Mike: All those people are wrong.
7-8 months ago
Mike:These records will never be broken
*Once A Philisopher Said: "I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying"*

Mike, do a what if that goes... What if Lebron James never left Cleveland

It's a waste of time thinking of something that hasn't and will never happen.
It's like thinking " what if the world was flat"?

Wilt has several records that will not fall. 100 points, 48.5 minutes a game for a season, 55 rebounds in a game. 22.5 career rebounds, and most impressively 20k women in a nba career. All hail the King!
NO-ONE will be better than lavar ball.

RICKY RUBIO WILL BREAK THE MOST ASSIST PER GAME 'CALLING IT'
Derek zarn I'm not talking about the wolves I'm talking about Ricky Rubio if he actually 'tried to break the record im pretty sure he could'
Derek zarn in like 4 yrs tho? It's possible
Keep up the great work Mike !
Another factor...Wilt Chamberlain played 48 minutes out of 48 minutes. To break his record someone would need to that sort of superhuman stamina.

I broke the assists record in myCareer, does that count?
I freaking loooooove this channel
the problem with 3's is you can double team a 3 point shooter and they'll be done but you can't double team a 300 pound 7'2 center who has good space awareness
Reggie Miller, Ray Allen, Steph Curry, among SEVERAL others, disagree with your false opinion.
Also MOST teams routinely doubled or even TRIPLED Wilt.
Didn't you say that wilts record wasn't gonna be broken in another video 🤦
I DID IT I BORKE 100 RECORD.....
Meanwhile in 2k14 106 points
DP Same except it was a playoff game so it wasn’t listed ahead of Wilt’s 100 point game in the records
Lonzo ball will get 200 points a game and 60 assist
-Lavar Ball
Stamatis Paleocrassas he was a warrior when he scored 100
In the Wilt Chamberlain 100 point game, he made 28 of 32 from the free throw line (.875)
predictions to break records mentioned: Ben Simmons/James Harden, 2018 Warriors (maybe with this year added), Malik Monk? (or no one), Devin Booker or Russell Westbrook or Klay Thompson (and I hate to say it but Lamelo ball-hog)
