I actually got to meet Daniel through the make a wish foundation in 2006 before I had open heart surgery. We played a few hands and after like 3 hands he knew what I had the next hand it was wild. I lost pretty quickly lol, but it was one of my best memories of my childhood. It's nice to see the energy and love he has with poker is the same as it was back then. Great interview Lex.

Hey Lex, as a Poker Player for the past 55 years, I am 67 and playing for cash since I'm 12 years old, having this young man on is great! I have watched Dan play since he came on the poker scene. When I would watch him a decade ago, he would call guys hands, J Q he'd say... And the fucking guy had J Q!! Or the next best either way... Always blew me away. He has a gift that not too many will ever figure out or get a piece of. The game of Poker is ever evolving in what strategies are available to a player. Remember, one night, you clean up, the next, you get cleaned out. LOL I prefer playing only tournaments these days. Pay the entry for a great payoff. Cash games anymore are too volitile and anyone can make stupid all in bets and hit on the river and take your straight to the cleaners when he hits the flush on the river. Good luck, Lex. Let's play. I'm in NYC!! Greenwich Village!
im at my mid 20's now and struggling with life and the only thing I target for this video is his lowest point in his life and how he made it what lessons I can learn from his struggles in his younger times❤️
I was just casually binging poker videos lately, out of the blue. I fell in love with Daniel Negreanus plays and personality. then bam, podcast on Lex? that's straight up telepathic.
I've seen Daniel call other players' hands on numerous occasions. "So you have fives, huh?" YEP. "I guess you got suited connecters...what, seven, eight?" YEP. "Sitting on a open-ended straight draw..." YEP.
I've been watching poker for about 20 years. Absolutely loved this interview! Perfect balance in energy between host and guest, with intelligent questions and intelligent answers in equal measure.
As someone who plays very often and would love to go pro, I’ve never been so captivated by a podcast. This is the kind of conversation I often have with people all the time, and you asked daniel most questions id ask. Love it thanks
Daniel is a class act - He heard I was a big fan, got my phone number and called me. Talked like we were boys and was in no rush. He does tons of things for fans/ people and doesn’t need the world to know he’s doing it.
I don’t know Jack about poker but I loved listening to this !!! Daniel’s passion and enthusiasm is wonderful to hear. Thanks for another incredible guest, Lex!
This has to be the best interview with Daniel and definitely one of the most informative videos on poker I’ve seen. Every player that thinks he is good should watch this. You’ll realize how many mistakes you’re probably making, and if you don’t realize that than you should probably stop playing poker
Really enjoyed it! When you talked about Daniel’s Mom and how she fed people. The first time I saw Daniel playing on TV he was young. Had a packed lunch from his Mom. They showed his Mom. Most people would be concerned it made them look like a Momma’s boy. He didn’t care. He Loved his Mom and didn’t care who thought what. My respect for him began then. 🤙🤙
Excellent job Lex, you really held your own for someone not very familiar with the game. I could say its the best poker conversation ive ever heard between two men who aren't both poker pros. Well done.
Idc what people think of Lex Fridman. This is one of the best interviews I have ever seen. Its not just Daniel Negreanus way of talking into the mic and listening/ waiting but great questions being asked.
Amazing interview. Lex does a great job letting Daniel just open up and talk when he asks those simple questions. My biggest pet peeve is when interviews talk over their guests.
Hey lex. I avoided you for along time because of you kinda be pushed on me in algorithms, but I've become a fan of your podcasts. I'm glad I started listening to them and thoroughly appreciate your interviewing style. Thankyou.
Long time fan. He's added a lot to the enjoyment of the game from a fan perspective. I like how he thinks, and I just think he's a good dude. Like if everything was stripped away he'd still be the same guy, which means he's fully himself as it is, w no superficial ego propped up by success and material things.
Amazing Podcast! It's such a pleasure to listen to Daniel talk Poker - the passion with which he speaks on the game, carefully choosing his words, so beginners and intermediate players alike can understand where he is coming from, it's just awesome to see. A true legend of the game, and it wouldn't be the same without him. Just so fun to listen to at the tables or at a podcast - one of the greatest ambassadors we have in the game (even to this day).
What I love about lex Friedman is that even though I don't like the current podcasts, his doing. I can still get the recommended podcasts from 8+ months ago, and they'll still be 🔥
Great seeing Daniel on your show. I was part of the self help group in Vegas (Choice Center) were I got to meet him and several other poker players who also took that course as well as many people from other walks of life. I'm not into the game so I didn't know who he was but after getting to know him and doing to of the "stretches" we all had to do I became a fan of the man. Great guy and really funny. Glad to hear he's happy in love. Wonder if he ever got the six pack abs yet;)
I had the fortunate opportunity to meet Daniel in the Bahamas. He was in the middle of a tournament on his way back to play from the hotel, he stopped and obliged a photo and was as cool a dude as he was here. Love ya Daniel win win win brother!
Around 30 mins in,you hit on exactly what I have the most fun with at a table...I get to be absolutely ruthless...with a smile on my face. As a bonus, if it's a great table, with great players, I'm welcomed by a group of those who think the same as me.

You don’t try to inject things that have nothing to do with the person you’re interviewing with and curtail the conversation into something it doesn’t need to be. You’re great, keep it up
Daniel is a nutcase & genius, and should be consider one of our greatest poker influencers of all time.
Lex has a unique skill of making all of his guests comfortable so that they all "spill the beans", just like Daniel does
People who have either a lot of beans or very valuable beans are just begging for the right opportunity to spill them
@@jordanlewis4308 valuable beans lmao, im gonna use that from now on xD
Kindness
And he is humble
It helps that Dnegs is a big talker
When he explained a leveling war going back and forth I immediately thought of “so I can clearly not choose the cup in front of me”
So you’ve made your choice then?
Lol... great trivia reference.
This is amazing! D Negs is one of my favorite poker players ever. Following him for years. Watching also his channel. Thank you Lex for this! I have 2 amazing hours ahead of me!
Lex, love your approach to every interview. This one was great (as usual)😁
Your voice is the one that it would comfort me even if presenting the meteor entering the atmosphere and ending this world 😇
And Daniel, you grew into a wonderful human that has much to share outside his passion.
Thank you for what you shared with us this time 👏👏👏
This is super exciting having Daniel on here. I come from the same area of Toronto as he does, and I've been a fan of him.for 20+ years. Good interview lex!
My man had a rough WSOP this year. Hope he can get a big upswing soon.
someone mentioned that the threat of someone coming after him at his home early in the summer shook him for the whole summer
but i dunno.. maybe a little
Dude is worth hundred million who cares
@@wurdofwizdumb1928 smh... Why the hell do you think I'm saying that, genius? Because I'm a big fan of watching his endgame tournament play. It has very little to do with the money. You sound poor.
@@fmcdomer He's just running bad in so many spots. I watched all his vlogs the last two series. Last year all his aces were cracked. This year none of his draws would hit and he couldn't make a wheel to save his life. He snapped at one point and broke his selfie stick. He also got trampled during the shooter scare towards the end.
@@carpeimodiem nah.. something was wrong mentally. I think the draft fucked him up because he tried to play as many events as he could. and he tried to push every event to try and win and maybe his steam room gave him a false edge. cuz you would think it would be a huge one. other people without the advantage of a steam room won bracelets
Love it thanks
well that was an absolute treat! so much to take in.
thank you Lex and Daniel
Been watching Daniel since Late Night Poker on GSN. So stoked for this interview
High stakes poker you mean
Daniel is a class act - He heard I was a big fan, got my phone number and called me. Talked like we were boys and was in no rush. He does tons of things for fans/ people and doesn’t need the world to know he’s doing it.
He heard you were a fan from who?
You told him you were a fan ans he called you lol? Thats pretty wild
@@brizzlex1919 yes he did, actually twice
Rephrasing @brizzlex1919 question, how did Daniel hear that you are a big fan?
@@harold7792 I actually met his brother who is also an amazing person. I think he put the word in for me but I’ve never asked 😊
Daniel had so many teaching words in this. A great conversation.
Just heard the whole podcast over a 3 day period. Thank you Sir Lex Fridman and thank you Sir Daniel Negreanu
This channel is from its format the most valuable I ever watched at youtube.
I don’t know Jack about poker but I loved listening to this !!! Daniel’s passion and enthusiasm is wonderful to hear. Thanks for another incredible guest, Lex!
Welcome to our world Lex! I'm having goosebumps while watching this! Thanks Dan for helping me think this way through your books!
Daniel is just a cool and humble guy. Appreciate him being so successful and sharing his knowledge.
This has to be the best interview with Daniel and definitely one of the most informative videos on poker I’ve seen. Every player that thinks he is good should watch this. You’ll realize how many mistakes you’re probably making, and if you don’t realize that than you should probably stop playing poker
Daniel`s mindset is just awesome.
Thanks again for a great guest to interview, Lex!
Thoroughly enjoyed the wisdom and humanity of Negruanu in and out of poker. Good work Lex.
Daniel was at his best version in this podcast..no wonder he went on to win 1st in the High Roller. Inspiring to say the least 👏
I need more of this interview... 2 hours with you guys are not enough. Great guest!
One of the best pod casts I have ever watched. Thank you
You need to watch the Magnus and Daniel episodes back to back. Fascinating.
So excited to see Daniel hes my favourite poker player. Thanks Lex for having awesome guests on!
Tom and Phil and the other Phil were always fun as well
@@B-RaDD For sure seeing them all play is awesome. I really enjoyed watching them back in the day on Poker After Dark.
This was such a treat. A true poker great. Thanks from the people, Lex.
Is this youtube premium?
shut up. dumb question
One of the best interviews I ever heard, thanks .
Amazing interview. Lex does a great job letting Daniel just open up and talk when he asks those simple questions. My biggest pet peeve is when interviews talk over their guests.
Glad you guys linked up!
Amazing interview, thank you Lex, thank you Daniel!
You hit it right on the nail. Daniel is a real star new real excellent human being all around.
We need more of Daniel!!!!!!!
This is one of the best podcasts I have ever listened to. Daniel has so much knowledge about poker
(about life)
Hey lex. I avoided you for along time because of you kinda be pushed on me in algorithms, but I've become a fan of your podcasts. I'm glad I started listening to them and thoroughly appreciate your interviewing style. Thankyou.
Such a refreshing feeling to see this interviewer, to the point and did his homework. Listens and reacts with good questions! Kudos Lex!
Lex is probably the best conversationalist the internet has. The level of his content is so deep and surreal. Keep going brother, more power to you!
Calm down
Long time fan. He's added a lot to the enjoyment of the game from a fan perspective. I like how he thinks, and I just think he's a good dude. Like if everything was stripped away he'd still be the same guy, which means he's fully himself as it is, w no superficial ego propped up by success and material things.
Lex is on fire
Amazing Podcast! It's such a pleasure to listen to Daniel talk Poker - the passion with which he speaks on the game, carefully choosing his words, so beginners and intermediate players alike can understand where he is coming from, it's just awesome to see. A true legend of the game, and it wouldn't be the same without him. Just so fun to listen to at the tables or at a podcast - one of the greatest ambassadors we have in the game (even to this day).
What I love about lex Friedman is that even though I don't like the current podcasts, his doing. I can still get the recommended podcasts from 8+ months ago, and they'll still be 🔥
Liv boeree and negreaneu in such a short space of time! Feel very lucky for these 2 worlds to be colliding, please have more poker pros on
One of the best interviews I've seen!
Lex, whenever you doubt yourself, watch this episode. This was perfect. Thank you.
first time in my life I watch a podcast end to end, he genuinely looks like a very nice guy, props to Daniel!
Great interview 👍 Really enjoyed that.
Daniel is one haircut away from becoming Kratos lol
slightly off with the physique, skin colour, height & also personality but aside from that ur pretty spot on lmao
@vvvs 2145s you seem fun
Thank you for this guest! I love his poker style.
Daniel is such a gem. He is my favorite famous person. And Lex is a great Interviewer. Smart people do their homework.
