    I picked up this one and their mobius .2mm airbrush a week ago. I use an infitiny cr+ 2.0 for everything except priming and varnishing (I'm a miniature hobbyist), and I haven't touched the infinity nor felt the need to since I got the gaahleri brushes. At first it felt silly to own an airbrush dedicated to only 1 needle size, but it draws out finer detail than I can usually get with the inifinity, and the GHAC-98 is robust enough that I can do everything from priming to painting to varnishing with it if I wanted to. Seriously impressed with these products. Looking forward to a review of the mobius airbrushes in the future.

      oh man that is gonna be awesome! Im fascinated by some of those older airbrushes. Can't wait to watch your video on it. I always tell myself I'm going to buy some old airbrushes on ebay to review, but they are just so expensive@@dredfxcustompaint

    Great review, thanks. My main concern with these Chinese airbrushes is that getting replacement parts and company support is uncertain. For $30 or $40 it's probably worth taking a chance, but for $85, I'd prefer to stay with an established brand like Iwata, Badger or H&S.

      I have read and seen countless UA-camrs rave about their customer service and support for replacement parts. Maybe this is a company worth checking out.

      Yeah, that's a good point. I think I said the same thing in my last review. It's the same with any new company, but I have pretty high hopes for this brand.

      You can actually buy an airbrush with similar features in China for $35. Similar 8 channel nozzle, hardened polished needle, polished cup, body and rear end. The only difference is a non-removable cup and nozzle size, and is instead called Super Hybrid 63 airbrush. As for why the GHAC is $100, idk. Maybe they've been spending the money on customer service?

    I bought the GHAC-98 D which is the same airbrush as the GHAC-98, but comes with a .38 and a .5 tip and needle. The lever guide is swedged loosely onto the needle spring guide so it doesn't fall off when disassembling the airbrush. Picked it up last October for $75 on some kind of deal. It's a pretty good unit.

    no air speed test or did i miss that?
    also bought it, really like it (not without my own niggles), will pick up a trigger type Swallowtail (not a artist, just a gunpla nerd). Great to see such great AB at such a low price.

    @FUBuddy Рік тому

    im pretty sure the 98 needle is thicker than the cheaper one too, i tried to put the better .5 in my cheaper airbrush and it would not fit, i did not get the calipers out, but it felt thicker by hand.
    i need to get a packing nut driver and see if loosening the nut makes it work.

    I buyed the GHAC-98 on Amazon. It looks great but another problem outside this video that I can't use it. Air blows out of the paint cup... WHY? I tested with paint, made a mess, tested after many times with water and disassembly and re-assembled 3 times making sure I put it all well together. I wondered at first with the split lever (if it was broken), watched this video. Still not working :( I don't know why air comes out of the paint cup. I really want this airbrush, but if I can't use it, I will have no choice to ask refund on Amazon. If you the reason why it is doing this, please tell me.

  • @FoxiAndMolly
    @FoxiAndMolly Рік тому

    Hi........ can you specify if this is 100% solvent proof? On the form on the box, several words are used such as "o" ring, which usually means rubber ring that is not solvent proof? However, in the video it looks like the gasket under the cup thread is Teflon? And what about the many other gaskets?

    • @CFster
      @CFster Рік тому +1

      All modern brushes are solvent proof. Any black o-rings an airbrush may have are air seals, not fluid seals. In the case of this brush anything that comes into contact with fluids is PTFE (Teflon) - the white nozzle, cup and needle packing seals.

    • @FoxiAndMolly
      @FoxiAndMolly Рік тому

      Ok... Thanks. I do understand. The reason for my question is that I have a tendency to soak all parts in thinner/acetone when deep cleaning, except for the trigger air valve. And it doesn't work with rubber O-rings, regardless of where they sit on the airbrush, and I've even had problems with the takumi cup seal. (Not teflon or rubber, looks more like cardboard seal)

    I grabbed the neoeco one just because it was like $50 and trigger response and very similar to the Talon, I definitely did NOT need yet another AB but hey when some are gunked up it's nice to grab another one and just go, nothing kills the mood to paint like a 30 minute deep clean of an AB. I despise my H&S ABs because of the trigger response, still awaiting their 2024 "game changer"
