More on anatomy and medical terminology would be great!
Thank you so much! These review questions are very helpful.
My biggest hurdle to pass the exam is time. 😢
saaammmmeeee!!!! 😢
Mine also! I get very anxious and make mistakes when I feel pressured on time. There was not enough timeframe for me to pass that test and I tried very hard twice. I know the material, but I just could not beat the clock.😢
Same here !
Hey Victoria, thank you for your videos. My biggest hurdle is finding the right CPT code. I simply don’t know where in the index to look. 😢 please help.
you are a savior
Perfect timing for this video for me. Thank you so much!
Thoughts on an anatomy "coloring book"?
I have one~! I got one where they have you write the names of everything next to the image. I mostly used it for that and to color code with notes.
@@rowanrose1530 which one did you get if you don't mind my asking? I'd like one i can label like that
@@starlingsbones763 The Human Body Coloring Book: The Ultimate Anatomy Study Guide. (DK Human Study Guide) I'm a perfectionist and use pen so I also have white out if I label wrong.
It looks like they have a second edition I wasn't aware of when I purchased mine XD
Also, if you have a chance could you discuss how to know what certain terms mean in surgical reports? For example; in the cardio section I had two questions for cath procedures, one used the term “manipulated” (which was more precise wording) the other stated “moved”. I assumed they meant the same, so I got the question that used the word “moved” wrong. How am I supposed to know the difference?
so question is there any type of tutor to help learn medical coding ?
Hi, i have a question .. (I'm not a coder), when a coder codes a diagnosis / procedure, do they just code what the doctor put on the patient summary report or do coders have to decipher every little detail ? Generally speaking how would a coder do it ? If a coder has to code like 50 cases in an hour or whatever their quota is - it seems difficult
Please I am interested to pass the APPC CRC exam. Do you offer a training?
Lack of knowledge around anatomy and medical abbreviations is making the process of learning coding more difficult than I anticipated. In my studies I can search meanings of these, but when exam time comes, I won’t be able to. Plus, even looking them up brings up more medical jargon that I also don’t understand. I really wish I had been told knowledge of these things was as imperative as they are before starting my class. I understand many, not all, of the root words, prefixes and suffixes, but that doesn’t help as much as I was hoping. I’m really going to have to focus on this when I get closer to the exam (I don’t have time right now bc I’m barely making it through the assignments weekly🥴
Write them down. You have blank pages in the back of HCPCS and your CPT I know for sure. I never took notes in my HCPCS back section so I put all Medical Terms I struggled with back there. There are playlist centered about medical terminology which can be very helpful especially if you are just trying to gather a master list. For the abbreviations write down everyone you don't know but come across and make them into flash cards. Making the card sometimes is the most beneficial part.
Only 4 questions? Does that mean over 100 questions will be all medical reports?
Here’s the breakdown of the questions on the exam:
Medical Terminology: 4 questions
Anatomy: 4 questions
Compliance and Regulatory: 3 questions
Coding Guidelines: 7 questions
ICD-10-CM: 5 questions
HCPCS Level II: 3 questions
CPT® Codes:
10000 Series: 6 questions
20000 Series: 6 questions
30000 Series: 6 questions
40000 Series: 6 questions
50000 Series: 6 questions
60000 Series: 6 questions
Radiology Codes: 6 questions
Pathology and Laboratory Codes: 6 questions
Medicine: 6 questions
E/M: 6 questions

Cases: 10 cases, 1 question each
@@ContempoCoding you are the best! Thanks :) I finished Preppy in April but since self paced, I want to do all the study questions and get a tutor before the exam.
