You just described... well, a lot of players. Including me. Why should I even want to learn this... its concepts are too complex to understand yet, and I want to lose at least in mittelspiel.
There are 10-20m kid videos on the French defense that explain the thematics of the position in so much more digestible detail than this video. Not to resurrect the Finegold-defense army again via this comment, but this is honestly just 7m of blabber and one opinion about the French exchange. Beyond move 3 how does this prepare you in anyway to play this variation much less chess in general?
I like these short opening videos that get into the logic of positions
I liked this video as a good quick summary of a position I don't aim to play but may end up in. Also good to know a way to force a 'non boring' game.
Yasser never facing the Exchange variation is crazy
I play the French quite a bit. I've tended to avoid IQP positions but I guess c5 is a viable move.
French exchange is really annoying when lower rated players choose to play it almost every time because they don't know the French defense!

The kings indian attack beats the french every time if you know the opening and it's a fun opening to play
Hey I'd go against you I just hit 803 elo and I play the french
Dammit man thought this would help me but it’s for my opponents 😭
Thanks Ben more please
Great commentary

We get it, you don't like the exchange variation. 😂
For anyone who already plays the French, that was almost completely void of useful information.
he said that the target audience is bellow 1400 elo
If you say so.
I think it's meant to just give a little insight to us know-nots who only play the Chewbacca Defence.
Thanks for sharing Andrew. You sound like you are devoid of some bitches in your life
Stop spewing garbage.. I play the french and I found it very useful. Thanks
