- Here is the great classic "The Pirate Song (Original)" by Ray Stevens, from the "I Have Returned" album.
Stevens later re-recorded "The Pirate Song" on his 1991 album "#1 With a Bullet" and re-recorded the song a third time in 2000 for a hilarious music video found on Funniest Video Characters.
I will be posting more of original Ray Stevens songs, so subcribe to keep up to date.
LOVE this song!! So many good memories from the 80's...back when things were simple :)
This man is a musical and comedy genius...
Have always had a smile brought because of this guy.
The vehicle is a Marine Corps AAV7A1. The man on the top of the vehicle was our active duty Navy Corpsman). Myself (with the rifle), and the man with the camera were active duty Marines stationed with the unit. The two men in the background to my left in the picture were Marine Reservists. The gentleman to the left of Ray was his Manager. The picture was taken in Gulfport, Mississippi. I still have my copy of the album autographed by Ray. Best duty station I ever had. :)
If that is true,... I'm so jelly Twenty thumbs up for you you lucky Bas.....! I would love to have met him!👍👍👍👍
OMG! I have been searching for this version for 25 yrs. I did a skit of this in high school. I'm surprised I still remembered my lines.
This song is the very quinteessence of Monty Python. He even got the British accent perfect!

On the "I Have Returned" album cover, I'm the guy on the right holding the rifle. :)

I sent the link of the song to one of the developers of the video game Sea of Thieves which is a game based on pirates, humor, mainly PVP and it just added pirates of the Caribbean characters for the latest update.

Thanks for commenting rrsaga. "The Monkess (The Theme From)" was on the album before this one (I Have Returned) and it was called "He Thinks He's Ray Stevens". I did try to post the song but UA-cam blocked the song. I am sorry that I could not share that great song with you.
Hilarious!
I want to sing and dance.
When I was a kid, I always envisioned the angry pirate as Grumpy from "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" and the dancing pirate as Pepe Le Pew, and I still do. Don't know why.
The copy of the song that I have is off the original album and not a download.
Ray stevens is a singing comedy geinus

Well song lol
The Great George Patton WW2 I have returned
Wrong. The portrayal in parody here is that of General Douglas MacArthur upon his return to the Philippines.

who elsethinks it's kinda weird that the captain changes his accent after the dancing pirate starts talking? just me? OK, carry on.
Why didn't Monty Python think of this?
Great humor. Too bad Ray Stevens has completely lost his mind.
I'd make the "I don't wanna" guy walk the plank kin or not. a sissy don't belong on a ship of any kind least of all a pirate ship.
From Hank Williams touching, heartfelf Stone That You Throw to this stupid thing, I never know what I'll get into when I come to you Tube. This is so cool because it's stupid.
