Saturday Recycling Centre Blockage - Nightmare Job

- Welcome back to another video, not every job goes exactly as you want, on a lovely wet Saturday morning we are going to go down to a local recycling centre where they've got some blocked drains for us to try and clear.
It might be time to send in some bigger equipment on this one.

You did great to keep up the perseverance as jobs like these can be massively frustrating. Once cleared, they need a full site survey doing and maybe some sort of catchment system for all that rubbish and debris as the amount in that system is a joke. They need that correcting ASAP
It turns out this drain was a interceptor catchment system that had long been forgotten about, unfortunately I didntn go back on that job myself
This is a tough one. You will win with drawings outlays.😊

Solid effort trying to figure out what their drainage schematic is. Hopefully they can be vacuumed out so you can see the bottom of the manholes.
Hopefully it can be sorted out, i think they are just ignoring the problem at the moment i really want to go back and find out whats going on

That was a tough one but you persevered. You'd think they keep a drainage map handy but that's my logical mind and common sense at play. I'm surprised and disappointed they're not keen to get it cleared
it would be a lot easier with a map they should definitely keep one handy, I really wanted to get it clear apparently the last manhole turned out to be an interceptor but they still don't know where the outfall is

Its been sat there a long time as well which makes it worse, 🤣🤣🤣🤣

That was one hell of a job, the level of debris in the pipes and the lack of a schematic really makeing things impossible.
Its impossible unless i stumble across the manhole hopefully they find one or we can empty it and see whats going on

I have done drainage for 20 years. I know you couldn't unblock this one yet, but when you started jetting the first and second manhole take the rubbish out of the chamber before it goes down the mains, which I've seen you do a few times..

I would think that on a commercial property you would bring out the pumper truck, oh got ahead of you. What no blueprints???
Im sure they will have some somewhere its just knowing who has them

I thought the cover would be knocked in by a massive front end loader & chock full of packed in garbage...

The drainage and condition of the lot itself is horrible, without the manhole issues. Sloppy mess. Bring on the vacuum truck.

Oof ! That really sucks you had to lift all the manholes all over that yard and still not be able to find it! Also... Wtf would they put a pipe like that going through a drain?!? Silly people!
Its annoying I really wanted to clear it, I think the pipe is only temporary for a cabin but I still don't know why you would do it like that
Why are the manhole covers hinged down the middle?
I know its stupid they are half covers with bolts thru to join them I don't know why they do it in the uk
