That sweater is killer. I think $200 is dead on. Just a matter of getting the right collector to see it.
My best finds were a 1920 silver ware set for $ 6.25 sold on EBay for $1,500. A 1950 ice blue tinsel tree I took out of the garbage-Free sold on EBay auction for $1350. At goodwill 12 frogs- 2 were signed- grabbed them all total of $53. Sold all on auction $1275. They were carved vintage frog ice fishing lures. I was happy with them All !
Those are some amazing finds! Especially a free $1350 tree!
Thank you !Yes, not like that everytime we're out. But that Hunt is sure fun!! Love the Yale sweater awesome find !!
I found a pair of Givenchy shark lock loafers at my local thrift. The leather was cut on the bottom from both pairs. It was done on purpose from the former owner. They retail for $3000 I paid $15 and resold them for $750
$750 for cut shoes??? 🤯🤯🤯
Great Scott! What a find on the Yale wool sweater! NICE! One of my best finds was at a garage sale where I found an automotive tester for $25 and sold it for $230.
My local university changed the name in 2002. The vintage school clothes are hard to find. I find 2 or 3 items a year they always sell for a great price.
Always nice to have a local connection!
Me and my wife’s best find was a Sealed 1982 Mickey Mouse Game & Watch. Sold it on eBay for $2,500 back in Early 2000
I remember you telling me about that. Such an amazing find!
My biggest flip that I found at a thrift store was a new inbox 6-ft skeleton horse. I paid $25 and it sold for $600
I remember that. Spooky find!🤣
I found 2 Vintage York 9 pound dumbbells at my local Goodwill. They were 9.99. I listed them for $299.99 and they sold within 😮hour. The 9 pound is very rare i probably could have got more for them but I think I did alright!
Now I'm going to be looking at every dumbbell I see. 😁 Thank you
Mine was a lot of 5 Haviland Limoges "Nappy" plates. They were one of the oldest marks and were in mint condition with double gold rims. I knew a lot about Haviland but had never seen this shape or pattern before, and it was not in any of the books. I finally found a sold listing on eBay Europe and that's how I discovered the actual name of the item. I paid $28 for them and listed them for $495. They sold within 14 hours. I have to admit, I love the research when you come across those one of a kind older items. Thanks for your videos, I always enjoy watching.
I love the research too, and you just gave me some. Going to look up plates now😁
Mine was a storage locker find owned by a family member of a famous impresario and rock concert promoter. We found original recordings of music tapes and a very nice piece of artwork. I too did a major rabbit hole search to find out the origins and owners. Very fun history lesson for me too! The Yale sweater is very cool and love the background rabbit hole to chased!
That sounds amazing! I would have had a blast researching that.
I found a 1974 Pink Floyd dark side of the moon belt buckle in the original packaging at a garage sale for $1. I talked to the lady and she said her late husband played on the tour and that she had a ton of stuff in the attic. She wouldn’t let me go through it unfortunately
Oh man! I bet your mind was stirring just imagining what was up there!
Over a year ago I found a Panasonic boombox "RX-A5"...I bought it for $45 and it had just sold in december for $1200. When i first discovered it i was shaken taking it up to the thrift store counter because there was one that was mint listed for 2000. I had no idea what I would end up selling it for but I knew it was an amazing find once I seen that listing. Its amazing to me what one person will give/throw away, and what another person will pay for it. Love the content!
Absolutely! You never know what you will find.
Every thrift store I have been to recently had overpriced items that are not worth what they are asking for them. They wonder why the shelves are full and no one is buying them. It’s getting crazy with the prices.
Ours are definitely hit or miss. They seem to try and send all of their good stuff to the online site. They still miss stuff though.
Great find.
Thank you!
That sweater is an awesome find indeed! Haven't found any history only turned small buys into big sales. One was a big Epson projector, paid 60 and sold 2 years ago, weeks before the super bowl, for 1000. I do have a few antiques that I recently acquired and doing research on, so we shall see.
Hopefully they sell quick and for big money!
My best find was a Bose system at Goodwill that I paid $600 for 🤣🤣....
That Yale sweater is so sick !!
You literally made me laugh out loud! ...and now my wife is giving me a weird look🤣
@@flippymcflipperson I'm glad it tickled your funny bone!!!! Lol
At the bins, I found a PGA tournament golf ball stamped with the Burning Tree Club logo and personal stamp of John McElwain. I know zip about golf, but it was super interesting to research that ball. It sold for $25.
That's right up my alley! ...and for basically free at the bins!
My best find was a surprise find. Bought an older 35mm camera lot (camera, couple of lenses, bag etc) for$30. Bought it for the camera which sold for around 100. Sold off the lenses for a little bit of money as well then decided to list the bag to get 20 bucks or so off of it. Come to find out the bag new was worth over $1400. Ended up selling it for $480 on eBay. Nice accidental fine.
Ghurka Marley was the brand.
I was gonna ask.😁 Thanks for sharing
My 2023 best was a lot of dental equipment (had no idea what all of the pieces were) I bought at an auction, with sales so far over 1K!
Gotta love the unsuspecting stuff!
I recently thrifted an Australian Rules Football ball (Sherrin) for $5. It has 15 different Brownlow Medalist signatures (Best and Fairest winners) on it from the late 1970s through to early 1990s. No idea on value, a similar item with different signatures is currently listed for $800 on eBay.
That's awesome! Hope it sells quick and for big bucks.
I picked up an odd-looking tool sort of thing at a garage sale for 10¢. Did a little research, found out it was an ICYPI square ice-cream scoop from the Edwardian era. Sold within 24 hours for $125. Thought it was pretty cool, very niche, fairly old.
That's very cool. It's those surprising finds that are the best.
I would have to say, thus far, it's been a union made in the USA Carhartt jacket in pretty decent shape. It was the Detroit lined style and I got it for $1, wore it for awhile, then sold it on eBay for $100
Gotta love those finds you get to use and then sell for big bucks!
I bought an old autograph album for 2 bucks and inside was a collection of biplane crash photos and a burnt postcard of the Hindenburgh with a note stating it was found among the wreckage i sold to a reputable airship museum for $400.Also in the album was a pair of Lincoln and Douglas silk campaign ribbons i sold through Heritage auctions for $4500.
Now that's amazing! I'd love to know who had it and how they got all that stuff
Great find and cool history.
Thank you 😁
We found a vintage German made record player for $15 and we sold it for over $300.
I don't think I've ever seen a record player worth that much. Great find!
That sweater is great. I am trying to remember my best find. One of them was a video game that I bought for $3. It had a rare collectors pin that was still attached. I can't remember final price but I feel like it was close to $200.
Wow! Nice job! Do you remember the name of the game?
@@flippymcflipperson I think it was DuckTales Remastered for the Wii U. I can't remember the exact sale price but I remember it was a great flip. I actually did an auction for it which I don't often do.
Nice find on that sweater Evan. Love finding the vintage and interesting items. While I didn't find it, I sold it on commission, my favorite vintage item was a Weltron space helmet radio. That thing was so cool.
Like actual space?👨🚀 That's amazing!
@flippymcflipperson no not really a helmet, lol. Just a nickname for the radio.
I have two bests… Nike Tiffany dunks that turned $18 into $850(before fees) and a few pieces of sterling silver(2 tea pots, sugar dish, candy dish, pitcher) that turned $25 into $1250(could’ve gotten a lot more but I didn’t want to clean them and went for the quick sale)
Wow! Both of those are amazing flips!
@@flippymcflipperson indeed… but as you know, more times than not you will walk out with 0-2 items… got a pair of vintage Schott leather pants recently and got to turn that $5 into $200… it’s all about timing most of the time…. Now to just create a machine that tells you the exact times they put out grails hahaha
@@johnnyshags2 let me know when you build that machine. I want in!🤣
@@flippymcflipperson lol definitely!!!
Mine was a set of books for training on the job and I found the website they retailed on for $1200, I sold my set for $800. I got the set for $16
Great score!
Definitely keep us posted on what it sells for!
Will do!
I rescued some history at the goodwill bins. It was a photo from World War 2 of a battalion stationed at fort Steven’s In Oregon. I called the Fort Steven’s museum and it turned out to be a lost photograph that was stolen from the museum. Crazy to think it was hours away from the landfill.
That's great! I bet they were grateful too
I haven't done a lot of thrifting for EBAY. But last year, i was helping my sister pick up some furniture from a store near her. and found a Pyrex bowl for $3. I sold it on Ebay for $50
Gotta love Pyrex!
Cool find and history on that Yale sweater. I’m here in Connecticut and I would probably list it at $300 but $200 is a good deal especially for a current student or Alumni. Good luck with the sale 👍🏽
Thank you!
My most exciting historical flip were Bauscher Weiden mugs from Hotel Platterhoff- $3.00 into $133.50.
Now I'm going to look those up. Never heard of them😁 Thanks
Good stuff, man. That Yale sweater was killer.
Thanks man!
That sweater was pretty sweet! Hope you sell it for full asking price!
Thanks man!
Yup, that sweater is fire!
My favorite find was in a lot of textbooks I bought from a college friend that took a class at LSU with Shaquille O'Neal, and Shaq had signed and written all through the English textbook. I sold it privately for $600 and I probably had less than a quarter into it!
Wow! That's great. Definitely a part of sports history too.
1920s Vintage Burroughs Portable Adding Machine Calculator Tape Register...paid $7.50 sold it for $255 plus shipping. I am grateful for the find, and I am grateful for the sale. I'm still learnipopping. Ebay thing and trying to get things poppin. Considering a channel to get more eyes on my items.
It's amazing what people will pay for. I mean, I have a calculator on my phone 🤣🤣
super cool sweater… i’d list it for 500 to 750 usd plus
Oh wow! Maybe I have it too cheap.
Sorority pin in gold with pearls and a black stone.
Sounds fancy! Also sounds like something I'd walk right past. Good eye!
Not a thrift find, but out in the woods one day we found a can that read Budweiser Light. From what I can find it was from 1981-89.
That might be even better. Yours was free!😁
No way?! That sweater is killer!! Nice find!
My biggest sale was that autographed book for 700.00 nothing else has ever come close.
I hope you get that 200 for the sweater! Very cool!
I'm still super happy for you on that book. I'm still looking for one!🤣
I have a feeling that Filson shirt would’ve sold regardless of the stains
You're probably right, I almost got it anyway but decided against it.
This week my best find was a dale gallon painting. 160 new with no frame and found it matted and framed for 3$
That's awesome!
Evan, Another Neat Video!! You do find the items that most people wouldn't even pick it up off the shelf!!!as that is to your advantage!! Very Interesting Video and a Fun Comments!! I'm sure glad a lot of the comments told you their Best Buy/s they have found!! Neat all the way around!! Love seeing your Subs rising!! Happy Thursday!!! 🤗❤️🔥👍☃️❄️🌧🥶☀️🙋🏽♀️
Thanks so much!
Great find Evan my piece of history was a vintage Queensland marroon Jersey 1991 state of origin in Australia for $5 at the red cross op shop listed for $250 😂🎉
Wow! That's awesome!
Probably the greatest thrift store find was one of those large Disney Balto plushes that I picked up for $3 and sold for $150
I'm still on the lookout for one of those things. Nice find!
just found a pfaff ambition 1 sewing machine, paid 40 got it listed for 700 on ebay, and some interested parties.
Pfaff is so good! Great find!
Great video and great find!! 👍
Thanks 👍
Great video! Burton snowbard paid 2.50
I remember that!
Cool Find! I would have to say mine would be a set of pool table balls, 1/2 dolphins and 1/2 bears.... Turns out, I was at the house of one of the Offensive Linemen who played for the Dolphins and Bears from 1993-2003. The balls were custom made by their kids for his birthday. It was really cool and then he walked out.... and boy was he accurate for being an offensive lineman. His hands were bigger than my arm. LOL Anyway, bought for $10, sold for $150. I'll take it.
Btw you doing Peaches to the Beaches? I'm planning on the whole weekend this year. We should meet up!
That's such a great story! I probably would have passed out 😁
I'll be at Peaches again with Adam. I think we are going a little further south this time. Definitely hit us up!
Cool find on the sweater, I don’t have the patience for clothing hunting. You do far better than me at the Salvation Army, I’m like 0 for forever
Haha, it's definitely not as good as it used to be. I have a feeling a lot of the good stuff goes out the back door.
@@flippymcflipperson yeah that’s probably true. I hear them in the back talking about looking things up. Kinda sad really
I got a tps Louisville slughar specialty bat for $.50. sold it in less than a day for an offer of $139.
That's awesome!
I would start auction with 195
That's probably a really good idea. Might switch it up. Thanks 😁
🎉🎉🎉
Not to be preachy, but I surely don't watch your videos every week so that I can be Yale-ed at! Great video- cool finds 🎉
🤣🤣🤣
Great video😊
Thank you 😁
I'm 5 minutes and 18 seconds into the video and I want to write my prediction. About the sweater is a Mickey Mouse club sweater as in a different letter on each sweater when you stand beside each other, Y is it the end?.
I love it! It's not right but I still love it 😁
