Srilankan Tamil students have been studying UK from 1970s and then in Australia also they did not go through any agencies. You do not need agents to get admissions once you get an admission if you have sponsors you get the Visa. These agencies must not charge more than their administrative cost. If do not have a sponsor then you go to these agencies to arrange a sponsor. They are targeting students from low families and charge them with big profits.

• Highest A/L passed students mainly enter Sri Lankan Universities (About 35,000 per year).
• Those who cannot enter those UNI, tends to apply for overseas study opportunities.
• Some enter local Technical colleagues.
• 95% Students come to Australia only seek PR oriented courses rather than knowledge based education at Universities (Hair dressing cookery courses etc etc)
• UNI courses in Australia appeasers to be in fact substandard (latest news released) due to lack of English knowledge and time allocated for their studies due to work for study fees and living
• It is said to be hard life style until PR is obtained. Only few completes degree courses in Australia
• Hence “brain drain” concept is irrelevant.
• Professional migration to Australia in fact comes under this concept “brain drain” (Skilled migration)
• People live in Australia (99%) have mortgage to pay off over a period of 30 years. Hence no way they can send large amount of money regularly overseas for nothing except for helping their immediate family members.
• Investment in Sri Lanka is only done by very few people under certain conditions but at the moment it is not a viable option at all.
That is very wrong information. Certain percentage of students dispite being selected here opt to go abroad to UK ,USA for more latest and modern education.The ones who can afford.

People live in Australia (99%) have mortgage to pay off over a period of 30 years - if you buy a house in Australia lets say in 2005 its equity will add top of the property. Lets say if you bought it for 250000 AU$ and now that property can be valued at least for 1.1 million AU$. Please check the property value in Mount Waverley, Glen Waverley , Berwick, Beaconsfield or Mulgrave. I know these things because I am living in Australia and went to Australia as an International Student in 2010. So he is correct.

I went to a private school till grade 5 and then government school till AL, then I got government uni. But I got a scholarship from a private uni. So I did my degree there worked few years in SL and migrated to Australia by a PR in 2018 since when my first child was born. I was a very strict person who didn’t want to leave SL and my parents. I was applying for pr thinking to come back. But today I fee that’s the best decision I’ve ever took in my life. Coz at least my parents are with me in here without going through a shity time in SL right now. I also have been helping lot of people in need in SL since the day I started earning. If I ever decided to stay in SL I would have ended up in a petrol queue. At least my both kids get to eat something now. If the government is mismanaging and stealing, pointing at the people who learnt and migrated is a foolish thing. That’s why there’s a government to bring rules and regulations for people or things to do a better management. They didn’t charge tax coz politicians were doing the business. They did allow undiyal coz they wanted to take black money to other countries. Now no point blaming honest migrants who earn in an honest way. Blame the fuc** government and the assholes there. Coz I know there are politicians who give more than 20,000 dollars to their kids to buy a car for their 18 birthday in SL. Yet they act like they are the best in parliament. So that’s all innocent people’s money. I love SL, nature, people. But not those who became a reason to make this country worse. My heart cries about the people and what they go through. Coz I wanna go and visit SL, but I cannot go through the pain now. Waiting till that day. Aragalaya should continue til the last moment!

If you come to Australia as a student be aware that life will not be easy, you will get to do cleaning jobs mostly, even with that not you won’t have enough money for your day today expenses including food, getting PR is even more harder, if you have work experience in any field that are in the skilled migrant occupation list you may apply for either PR or temporary work Visa which may lead to get a hassle free, better life in Australia according to our own experience. If you have enough funds to support you through out your student journey then you may proceed as a student otherwise it’ll be a burden for you and your parents.

Very low percentage 1% probably, I stress probably get money from Sri Lanka. They use foreign currency only for very first semester. Everyone work and earn and pay their fees, food, lodging and everything also manage to help families in Sri Lanka.

Also if your a smart invester you can reduce lots of taxes legally. That's the beauty of been an invester and that is the only way to escape the rat race
