This Church in Ocho Rios is absolutely a canonical Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, established by Abuna Yesehaq and the EOTC Mission to the Western Hemisphere. Currently they are under the jurisdiction of Abuna Thaddaeus. They are not a "private church". Am I understanding your comment correctly?

I didn't see it. But then I found the icon hanging over the curtains (not the wall) of Anba Bishoy washing the feet of Christ. This is a Coptic (Egyptian) icon, probably a gift to the church, and I wouldn't call him white, maybe brown or Middle Eastern. Is this the one you are referring to?
@@NicNakisMy family built that church and is the one putting money for construction, and I gave them that icon. The Coptic church is not a Roman church, but the true leadership seat connected to the Apostles
The Ethiopian Orthodox Church was under the (romanised) Egyptian Coptic Church for centuries until Haile Selassie I gave it an identity. Then HE summon the 7 Churches of Asia in the Oriental Orthodox Conference of 1965 . Six churches were schooled and warned of his judgment and the Eastern orthodox Church was disinvited for departing from doctrine.) But the Ethiopian orthodox Church never understood Revelation 1:11 to 3:22 because "A prophet is never honoured in his own land" Jesus Christ . .so He sent the Ethiopian Orthodox Church to Jamaica where he is Honoured as God in flesh and He told the Abunas to "Respect their faith"... but the Orthodox Church still didn't get the point. Sadly, they are still waiting for Jesus to come from the sky ... tsk, tsk, tsk.

I have even heard Ethiopian orthodox priest say Jesus is a white man and they have preached the Curse of Ham to black people... But We as Rastafari know that Ham was blessed and only Canaan was cursed for colonialism .... We also know that Haile Selassie i gave the Ethiopian Orthodox church a true independent identity for the first time in its history.... And they still cannot see He is the Alpha and Omega ... Regarding Alexander, he was a Macedonian, not a Greek. The first people he conquered were the Greeks, then used them to conquer others, adding to his territories and armies. He is considered a Saint in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church because he was hailed as a Messiah by the Jews and was converted to the Old Testament faith when he visited the temple in Jerusalem.

I know, from speaking to many Ethiopian priests, deacons, and bishops about this, as well as reading many texts, that this is NOT the original or proper teaching of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo, but this teaching has been injected into the church over the past 50 years (post-revolution) by false teachers and infiltrators.
