a taller windshield may help buffeting but it also changes how it will handle in cross winds, anything fork mounted affects handling, its like a big sail pushing and pulling on the forks, i found most of the buffeting on mine came up from the sides of the tank so i put fork deflectors on to stop it, buffeting is tricky if you move your hand around you can usually find where its coming from
My thoughts are the same. Crosswind buffeting is probably the biggest complaint/problem I'm trying to deal with. Its not even the "death wobble", but the wind buffeting seems like it would instigate the wobble. Don't like that unstable feeling around 65,70 mph.
At long last!!! Thank you for your experimentation and discovery. This is a nicely scientific journey into windscreen's height that so many riders want to follow in order to discover where to start, try out and then enjoy that final discovery to make their bike the perfect ride.
I am 6'2" and I found out the hard way that it really takes about a 24" windscreen to eliminate buffeting on my helmet and at that point it looks ridiculous on any bike so I go with a lower screen to keep wind off my chest while my helmet has 'clean' air (not turbulent) as if I'm riding a naked bike. It's the best compromise for us tall folk and a helluva lot better then getting violent buffeting from a tall screen that isn't quite tall enough. Thanks for the video.

A lot of the the "buffetting" comes from under the fairing believe it or not. Also, since these fairings have no flair at the top it's not kicking the wind up and over like a Klockwerks does
Can't decide between 11- 13. I am 5'3". If you are 5’8" then you are 5 inches taller but sitting on your bike will make you probably 2.5 inches taller in sitting position. (*Helpful video, thank you!) I have the vented 13inch windshield, after finding online that it reduced buffeting. At highway speeds, 50mph+ I start to get the buffeting on the top of my helmet and that then starts shaking it around as I go faster. I'm probably going to go for the 15 inch before next season in the hopes that it will stop the buffeting. Quick question, what got you picking risers over t bars? I'm looking to either get Risers or T bars but I'm not sure which is better.
15 should help with the buffering from my experience. I got risers because I liked the option of being able to switch bars down the road if I wanted to. I also like the gold accent but gold tbars might be overkill lol. Thanks!

I am willing to get the solar (least tinted) if because of my height it will be above my eye level, i mean i am willing to look through the windshield when riding (unless thats not a good idea) Thnks
Hey! I don’t have experience with the El Paso or the rebel unfortunately. But I think the 13 inch option could be good to start out. I’ve read the ideal height of the faring is that the top of the faring should be at eye level
I’ve also noticed that your helmet makes a difference too. I feel a lot more buffeting with my lane splitter helmet than I do with my Sedici strada 2 helmet
Great comparison! It's amazing what a few extra inches will do, amiright? #ThatsWhatSheSaid I will say, however, that going too tall can be problematic - I had more issues with a windshield that was way too tall for me on my Vulcan 800 before I bobbed it - going back to a shorter one helped. Does Memphis Shades make a Spoiler version for your bike? If so, you could get a shorter shield and the same - or better - wind protection.
I got an altered industries extension for my quarter fairing and I hated it. It put the wind up higher, but it created this weird resonance vibration thing where it hit just at the correct angle and speed to where it cost my head to vibrate like a dildo. I would rather have my entire head be evenly pushed back instead of just that part

Super comparatif merci beaucoup ! 🤙🏼👌🏼✌🏼
Thank you!
Add a lip to the shorter windshield and it'll work better than a taller windshield.
Super helpful bro. Thank you
You got it
What is the brand of the exhaust pipe ?
Two brothers
Hi man how is the size of the risers?????
It’s good, I could’ve gone 10 though and been better for me
I’ve also noticed that your helmet makes a difference too. I feel a lot more buffeting with my lane splitter helmet than I do with my Sedici strada 2 helmet
Definitely
Wild. I got a vented 11” windshield and I buffet a lot. Also have a lane splitter helmet
@@_Arkenzie I also went with the 11” vented
Does vented or not vented work better?
Imo I think the vented works better for buffeting. But it’s an opinion
Great comparison! It's amazing what a few extra inches will do, amiright? #ThatsWhatSheSaid
I will say, however, that going too tall can be problematic - I had more issues with a windshield that was way too tall for me on my Vulcan 800 before I bobbed it - going back to a shorter one helped.
Does Memphis Shades make a Spoiler version for your bike? If so, you could get a shorter shield and the same - or better - wind protection.
What kind of issues did you have? I’ve used the 15 inch windshield on a trip to skyline and it worked out well
@@IronBornRider I had extra buffeting because the wind hit me wrong, and glare from lights made it harder to ride at night
Very good video!!
Thanks Terry! Ride safe
I’m 5’9. What would you recommend?
Check your handle bar!
The right side is to much down!
That was the feeling I had with the 11-13 inch windshield. The 15 was just high enough to push most of the wind above my head
Nice bike!
Thanks!
Will buy a new windshield next year (2025). Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Get a 15 or a 17 and then no worries about wind issues.
Got a 15 from Memphis and def works better
Just tryed 17” and it’s worst than wear nothing
What?
Shocker. The taller windshield blocks more wind.
Who woulda thought
I want to install a windshield, but not a fairing. The cross wind buffeting is not cool, and needs addressed.
thanks man
You got it
no way me go over 50 p
