  • Lt. Col. Owen Scott, Medical Director at the US School of Aerospace Medicine and TSgt Charoyce Anderson, Respiratory Therapist, as they discuss the intense and important process of Critical Care Air Transport Training, or CCATT. In CCATT, doctors, nurses and respiratory therapists learn how to transport and care for patients at an ICU level of care on aircraft. The medical professionals in the program work through extremely lifelike and high-stress simulations to hone their skills and learn to work together with all of the unique challenges faced by patient care in the air. Using equipment specially designed to operate on a C-17 or C-130, training includes everything from simulated nighttime emergencies to high fidelity manikins with all manner of critical injuries.
