Claire was always on the line of being a psychopath. What was great about her story was that we got to see what made her go that route. She has always wanted the power, she was learning from Frank the whole time.

I believe that this was the moment when the dwindling relationship between Frank and Claire as husband and wife reached its breaking point, and then went downhill later on. Corrigan made Claire question herself and her political and intimate relationship with Francis.
I feel like she should’ve done a better job at figuring out how to speak on behalf of corrigan without ruining all that her husband work towards. I understand why she did it but there was a lot at stake. I just think there could’ve been another way. He has every right to be pissed.
I liked that Claire was always the slightly better person. She was still a horrible person, but she had a speck of good in her. She actually felt bad for Peter Russo's kids. She felt bad for this guy in Russia. Frank never felt any regret for any of the things he did.
I think the same. Is very powerful and moving scene the scene from season 2 where Patricia tells Claire that she is a good person and she starts crying, cuz she knows that deep down she´s not, no matter how hard she tries.
Truthfully though, being completely and totally emotionless would be the better course of action in their position. When you do what they do, year after year, destoying lives, blackmailing, being an evil SOB, emotions can and will only serve to get in the way. I think that was part of why the show’s writers put the Michael Corrigan thing in. To highlight how emotions can really f you up in a position like that. It’s something Jackie Sharpe’s character struggled with for basically her entire time spent on the show.
Am I the only one who sinks into their chair with intimidation every time he gets loud? I’m so used to seeing him playing comedic roles and being goofy in interviews then I watch HOC and I’m like... He’s scary when he gets angry. Also hot. Really hot. 😅
Frank can get very petulant in most of his arguments with Claire, but he is was in the right here. Claire was playing diplomatics like she was playing a game of Uno and isnt how Frank and the United States needs to project itself itself.
If I was the president I would've stopped her right there. Forced her out and continue the talks establish peace deal and then removes her from ambassador post forever. If possible remove her from being first Lady. Administration and politics requires restraint and control.
