As bizarre as their food can be, you gotta admit that they're pretty good at coming up with dishes for each part of those creatures. Almost nothing is thrown away in these videos
So those were eggs...Fish Roe...would like to see him prepare that as well...integrate into the dish...After all the buyer should be entitled to all that was bought.
Very interesting.. it seems very gelatinous in texture. Very little meat/muscle, more like a membrane protecting its organs.. creature of the ocean, so interesting..
@@Derail07 You do realise we don't eat deep-sea fish, right? That's a lumpsucker, they are bad swimmers and have next to no muscles because they use a suction-cup-like bodypart to attach to things, mostly fish. Please, do some research before spewing as much idiocy as this lumpsucker spewed-out caviar.
Yep, deff deep sea. The pressure down there is so great, a gelatinous body is a lot easier to maintain. Also muscle is expensive. Food is scarce, and deep sea animals basically prefer not to move unless they have to. Many prefer more passive locomotion, rather than using lots of energy to power muscles to propel themselves, they just kinda drift. Worth mentioning that coming up from deep sea to regular atmospheric pressure usually does a lot of damage to tissue, causing the animal to become highly misshapen.
I want to go to Japan SOOO bad! Such a beautiful country with a beautiful culture. I'm down for some Japanese street food! I've wanted to for a while but after seeing the National Geographic series on Japan it has solidified it.
they respect their food.make it with love .dont waste too much of it.cook with different ways.who could guess that fish could make three different dishes or even to be eaten.thats deserve respect even l cant eat that.
@@umikara4503 I would say everybody is entitled to their own opinion. just because people don't say something doesn't mean they're not thinking it. I would rather people be honest and say what they feel instead of being fake.
I'm not sure about cooked.. that would depend on sauces, spices, etc used... but raw... if you have ever tried sea urchin, that yellow grainy tongue looking thing at most sushi places, I'd imagine same taste but lots of different textures. So pretty much like how the ocean smells.
Sushi ingredients that I recognize, in order: mirin, kombu, soya, bonito, tamago, fish liver, salt, nori, sticky rice, Japanese cucumber, masago/tobiko, wasabi, pickled ginger....not sure about the unlabeled powder (white pepper, aspic, msg?) and liquid in the bottle that he puts on the liver. The hot pot looks like daikon, carrot, salt, dashi, oyster mushroom, leak, scallions.
So I watch a lot of Japanese eaters and recently I noticed they sometimes put this flaky white powder into their ramen, do u know what that is? I kinda thought salt but it seems really light and flaky like snow
naniieSAYhuh Hmmm, in a ramen, it could be anything. Lol More than likely it’s monosodium glutamate or could be a really flaky shio (sea salt) if it’s pure white, like you are describing.
Edward Downer Yes, definitely dashi in the hot pot broth. I think the white powder in the first dish could be msg, mentioned above....But I didn’t know the plant you listed, that’s awesome! Going to go check it out, now. Thank you. :)
Yes it does, those are her ovaries. And don't even try to bring up a sea horse because those a just a pouch on the belly of the fish that the female lays her eggs into through an opening that's not the cloaca.
That is not a fish 🐟 that's a balloon 🎈 lol 😆 I am learning so much in this channel, since is like the love child, of national geographic and the food network lol
I don't know if anybody bring this up but like previous videos, what happened to those meats, parts not used in the dish? It is taken by the person preparing the dish or brought home by you?
kudos and thank you for another mouthwatering vlog. 😋 i just wanna ask, whats that purple fleshed vegetable you used for the fish stew.? cant wait to watch for more vlogs in the future✌🏼😁

Does anyone else see a ton of fish they never saw before in their life on this channel?
Dimitrije Mirkovic I wish I never
Yep
Yes. I suspect it's because I don't live in the ocean where the fish are.
Most of them are ugly and not at all appetising... Like this one...
Yeah. And they even consider these street food. Unbelievable
One thing I like about this channel is they never wasted any food
When I saw him gut the fish and saw how much eggs were pulled out,
I got my popcorn and headed to the comment section.
same lol
千丶叶 nice 👍
Reexis when I saw the black skin and saw that there was no meat then I headed to the comment section haha
So those were eggs...Fish Roe...would like to see him prepare that as well...integrate into the dish...After all the buyer should be entitled to all that was bought.
seems like both our prediction are wrong, not much hate in the comment section
Travel Thirsty is the best channel on UA-cam for Japanese fish arts.
This thing looks like a water pug lol
A hella squishy one
Lol
@Hogwarts Wizard zzz sa aaaaaaa th gfsaa. BBM m
Thats a weird fish
Japan: i'll take it
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yeah the ocean gonna be wipe out of fish very soon
At 1:10 I am fully convinced this fish is 80% applesauce.
Very interesting.. it seems very gelatinous in texture. Very little meat/muscle, more like a membrane protecting its organs.. creature of the ocean, so interesting..
That's because it's a deep water fish... they raped the bottom of the sea dragging nets destroying everything in its path to catch that animal
@@Derail07 , my same thought too.

Bruh. For what there isn't even any meat on the fish
I was thinking the same thing.
Mainly for the egg sack.
The fish was on a diet during pregnancy
That doesn't matter, it moved so it must be eaten.
Roger Ailshie I mean seriously.
Omg I love this channel SUBBED!!!!!!!
The people preparing the fish make it look so good I would try it !!!!
It is a chef of Japanese food. We always have fun look. The first time I saw

Can you describe what does it taste in the description area every video that u post.? Im very much curious
Simple. It tastes like soy sauce and wasabi.
I'm not sure about cooked.. that would depend on sauces, spices, etc used... but raw... if you have ever tried sea urchin, that yellow grainy tongue looking thing at most sushi places, I'd imagine same taste but lots of different textures. So pretty much like how the ocean smells.

I think I saw some dashi powder used in the video. Also the plant at the end is the Crystal Ice Plant, Mesembryanthemum crystallinum.
naniieSAYhuh Hmmm, in a ramen, it could be anything. Lol More than likely it’s monosodium glutamate or could be a really flaky shio (sea salt) if it’s pure white, like you are describing.

Awesome description!! Thank you so much!! that was literally every question I had, all answered in one post!!! Perfect like this amazing video.
It's amazing how these often start off "there's no way I'd eat that", and have your mouth watering by the end
Amazing congratulations...thank you
Fantastic. I'm supporting you brother. Bonne appétit. Rashid from Morocco
It might be a girl
Yes she is.
Suffice to say, when they cut it open, I didn’t expect yellow Malt-O-Meal to come pouring out along with its guts
3/4 of it were eggs!
Сушистом отработал 8 лет. До сих пор понять не могу эту кухню

Yes it does, those are her ovaries. And don't even try to bring up a sea horse because those a just a pouch on the belly of the fish that the female lays her eggs into through an opening that's not the cloaca.
@Womb Raider well there were eggs inside...,.....

Yung Biz usually used for broths I think... not sure though
The market will keep it unless you ask to take it home

There are so many ugly kool fish under the sea. Therefore, I believe in Spongebob's existence.
I want to see japanese people cook patrick. Lol
If finding Nemo was set in Japan it would last 15 minutes, just enough time for Nemo to get caught and then eaten in some fish market.
That is one cute looking fish
