The Washington offense is great until the 25 yard line. Then we commit an obligatory drive ending penalty, fumble a snap, miss a FG, or turn over on downs. 😢 😭
Or we stop the opposing team to a 3rd and 12 and give up a penalty to keep their drive alive. And when in the hell has Grady Gross ever missed 2 FGs in a game let alone 3.
@sirtheodorefranciswindsor Don't worry, as a Michigan fan, I know you guys are going to have plenty of chances to put the ball in the endzone after we go three and out over and over and over. Our offense is going to give your team short field after short field, so even if you have a low percentage of converting possessions inside the 25 into points, you'll have bountiful opportunities. Also, when your team is in 3rd and long, don't worry. We give up several first downs when teams are 3rd and long every game. And I'm bot even talking 3rd and 7 or 8 type of 3rd and longs. I'm talking about 3rd and 16. Every game we've given up several first downs that should've been easy punts. So that's my long way of saying, whatever troubles your offense has, Michigan will make sure you have as many opportunities as you need to get them right. Ugh. I would say, "Good luck Saturday" but I'd be lying. So instead I'll say, "Good luck all season outside of this week".
Probably because that game is over before it begins. MSU has to travel to Eugene on a short week (for a Friday game) when they played a late night game against OSU the weekend before. Why talk about a game that is destined to be 45-10? Because Smith used to be Oregon State's coach? Not enough of a compelling story to cover up the stink emanating from that game.
Washington is just crushing it in the “Most penalized team in College Football 2024”. UW defense is pretty good, Michigan defense is really good, this game is Washington’s to win thru the air. Will Rogers is accurate but he’s no Penix on the deep ball throws. (Plus he sometimes doesn’t seem to be on the same page as his receivers…God I miss last year already). Michigan will just slam us in the trenches and probably run 75% of the time. We’re going to have to mix it up even though we have one of the most underrated running backs in College football in Jonah Coleman. That backfield tandem is really good with Cam Davis and Adam Mohammed. All this is moot if Jedd Fisch doesn’t stop the penalties.
@flydawg7784 As a Michigan fan, I am very very confident Washington wins this by at least 2 TDs. Michigan's offense is "Iowa 2023" level bad right now. And the defense, while pretty good, isn't deep enough to hold up for 4 quarters. We also have an awful penchant for giving up several 3rd and longs every game. And I'm not talking about a 3rd and 7 or 3rd and 8 type of 3rd and long. I'm talking about 3rd and 16. So your offense is going to have plenty of shots after we go 3 and out several times in a row. You guys will have several short fields to work with from all the punting. Also, Michigan will turn it over at least twice to help any redzone hiccups you guys have. We've been extremely lucky so far this year. One of these weeks the levees will break and some team will drop 40+ on a Michigan team that struggles to score 14. I, sadly for me and luckily for you, think this will be the week
@@Jon.A.Scholt You GET just how upset Husky fans are over our 2 losses, and you're trying to cheer us up....that shows class on your part! I think the game will be VERY close, field goals will matter. Our kicker, Grady Gross has taken SO MUCH CRAP from EVERYWHERE, I think it's messed with his mindset.
@@BillieBailey-th3lc If it somehow came down to a duel of kickers, I definitely like Michigan's chances. Michigan's PK this year Dominic Zvada, a transfer from Arkansas St, has been amazing. He is 7 for 7 so far this season but the impressive thing about it is that 4 of those FGs have been from 52 yards or farther (52, 53, 53 & 55). Dude is an absolute beast. Michigan's kicker from 2 years, Jake Moody, kicked for Michigan for a few seasons and was the best Michigan kicker I've seen in my lifetime (I just turned 40). In fact Moody was good enough that the 49ers took him in the third round of the NFL draft. I mention all of that about Moody because Michigan's current kicker, Dominic Zvada, has so far impressed me as much as Moody did. Now, Moody did it for 3 years so we'll see if Zvada can continue his stellar play for the entire season. But he's given me no reason to doubt him. (Though now that I'm singing his praises I'm afraid I've just jinxed him) In any case, I'm happy to have you Huskies in the Big Ten! Then again, I may feel differently after Saturday if things don't go well for my Wolverines!
@@Jon.A.Scholt Wow, your kicker "kicks butt"! I thought our chances for winning were good, but, I DIDN'T know about your kicker. He might be PIVOTAL in the game!
Someone has to ask the obvious question. Does Michigan really have to have a quarterback? Or, receivers and a Tight End for that matter. Maybe they should go with all offensive lineman and running backs. I mean, why pretend?

Rutgers should win. They’re much better coached
Iowa State is good and Minnesota almost beat Michigan - bad analysis and bias by Tom (unsurprised at this point)

Michigan wins 27-24. Will have close to 1k yards rushing.
Rutgers beat Washington and their QB threw for 115 yards
That's typical of Rutgers though.
Someone has to ask the obvious question. Does Michigan really have to have a quarterback? Or, receivers and a Tight End for that matter. Maybe they should go with all offensive lineman and running backs. I mean, why pretend?
Because integrating some RPO type plays and play action would tremendously help the run game
Well, as a Michigan fan, I'd say that's pretty much what we're already doing. Heck, we're essentially already playing a LB at QB right now.
Tom seems anti-Iowa- doesn't smell right
Who is more likely lose if you had to place a bet of $50?
Michigan
