    New (modern models) laptops do not process power through the battery, when plugged in. Therefore, it is actually a good advice (on a new laptop!) to use it plugged in AC power, whenever possible, this way you avoid charge/discharge cycles on the battery, that are not really needed, thus prolonging the battery life from cycle damage.
    Also, while it is a good practice to charge only up to 80%, there is no problem for most users to use it, while charging all the way up to 100%. Li-ion batteries are never really charged 100%, because of the need for battery integrity stabilization (in other words - to help prevent the battery from falling apart in terms of chemistry balance). Therefore a 100% charged Li-ion battery is in reality charged to 75-80% of the battery's chemical capacity.
    According to manufacturers (for example Dell) there is no problem really to charge up to 100%.

      But isn't trickle charging bad for your battery? It's still going through charge cycles as you use it where it's constantly charging and discharging which will wear on the battery. I've heard it's also not good for your battery to hold a high voltage level for prolonged periods. (Ex: Keeping it at 100% for a long time).

    • @moetocafe
      @moetocafe 8 місяців тому +4

      @@CyberSonic157 if you don't use it often, then yes, it is better to keep it 60-50% charged, not more.
      As for tickle charge, it is my understanding that it doesn't happen, or if it does - it is negligible.
      In any case - charge/discharge will wear off the battery quicker ,than tickle charge.
      And if you don't want to wear off the battery at all - I'm afraid that is not possible :) no matter what you do, even if you don't use the battery - it still wears off with time. It ages and degrades, it's just how it is.
      By the way, on most new laptops the batteries are embed, you can't even take it off, like it was before, which is silly at best, but also potentially dangerous. I don't know how they came up with that idea, but it's bad engineering decision imo.

      @@moetocafe Money. The answer is money. What will 90% of users do when their battery fails, they can't pop it out and replace it easily (no tools) and the warranty is expired? Right, they just buy a new one.

    Thank you! Are those temperatures you mentioned Celsius or Fahrenheit? I can't imagine using a laptop at 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit, Brrrr. I usually use mine at 70-82 degrees Fahrenheit, so 21-26 degrees Celsius. Is that okay?

    im actually so sad because my chromebooks battery health has stayed in the 90's capacity for years i notice that the battery health can increase everytime after i charge it then use it til about 30 percent but overnight it dropped to 89.77 battery health if this is because I left it unused for a long time i can try to use it throughout the day and charge it at night or early morning still its depressing to know that eventually all of my devices like my nintendo switch and chromebook and iphone will eventually be no good for me anymore just seeing them aging out is sad but I know my chromebook is becoming bad because i had it in extreme hot or cold which isnt my fault its mother natures fault but i also had a lot of tabs left open and left it at 95 percent for hours per day so maybe that has something to do with it I dont know but its gonna take forever for me to increase my chromebooks battery health back to what it was when i originally had it I had it since christmas of 2017 to now spring or early summer of 2022 not gonna lie this laptop was a survivng beast but I think it might be time i invest in another laptop or something but the thing is i dont want to use my money plus any device you get is expensive id have to save my money for years until i can get a new device like a laptop or something i can use to stream movies and tv shows on when im not at home using my fire stick tv

      Unfortunately, if you will always use the laptop connected to the electric current, this will definitely damage the battery, and in this case, remove the battery from the laptop and use the device directly with the electric current. Because in this case you do not depend on the battery while you work on the device. And whatever the type of battery, if you always connect it to electricity, it will perish in a short time. It is better to remove it and rely on the electric current directly to operate the laptop. I hope the response is sufficient to convey the information to you. First of all, I congratulate you on getting this model of the laptop. You can definitely maintain it, and the most important thing is the battery. So follow the steps as in the video, and the most important thing is not to fully charge it, and also if you are going to operate the laptop for long periods, remove the battery and connect the laptop directly to the electric current, and thus the charging and discharging process of the battery will be reduced. Also, do not leave the battery until it has reached its end. Always try to charge it when it reaches 10% only, no less than that. Good luck to you . And excuse me for the delay in replying. And how to use laptop without battery blasting
    Waiting for your answer

    • @DOITMOSTAFAAHMED
      @DOITMOSTAFAAHMED  Рік тому

      There is more than one reason why the battery explodes, and the first reason is misuse, for example
      For example, you leave it in the charger even after it is full. Another reason is that you operate the computer at high temperatures for a long time. And it is possible if it has any rupture or fracture that exposes it to loss of charge and makes it last for a longer period, and therefore with time it will explode. And the last reason is that it could be a manufacturing defect from the beginning.
      In order to avoid this, do not charge the laptop and then remove the charger, i.e. do not leave it for long periods after fully charging the battery. This is the most important thing. Also, you can remove the blanket and turn on the laptop directly from the power plug in the event that you will work from home or in your office at work.
      Good luck to you

    Hi, I purchased new laptop. Dell G 15 5520 i5 12th gen 16Gb.From 1st day onwards I'm getting a battery drop of 1℅ per minute. I checked task manager, cpu at 1℅, Dedicated Graphics 0℅, memory 5.8GB, WiFi 0 KBps, Integrated GPU 0℅. No external devices connected while testing reports. Design capacity of battery is 54,891mWh, Full charge of capacity is 52030mWh ( which reducing every next day). A total of just 100 min of backup I get on STAND BY MODE(which is with only display onn and no other function on it) I I talk with Dell and they finally agreed that this laptop should give 3-4 hrs of backup on stand by mode. And they ready to replace with new battery.I kindly request you to share your opinion on this scenario that is my battery has a problem? And if yes then should I allow dell to replace battery of new laptop or should I opt for complete laptop replacement? Waiting...for your reply my friend.

      @@DOITMOSTAFAAHMED you need a better robot voice. The one you are you using sounds like a computer. There are a lot of good robot voices now, you need to scrap the old one. Watch some movie recaps and you know what I mean, they use very good robot voices :)

    is it okay to run my laptop using electricity (plug in, not charging) even my battery installed. run it like a pc, using battery in very important times only

    • @aldjeus

      based from my own research, it's okay as long as you set a charge limit up to 80%... this means that once the battery receives 80% charge, it'll stop charging and thus, preserving the number of cycles that the battery life has; since repeated charging to 0-100% decreases it's lifespan.
      you can put a charge limit on the laptop's BIOS or a preinstalled program depending on ur laptop manufacturer.
