He wasn't created by magic. So he couldn't be destroyed with it. He's from a different kind of fantasy. The kind Mary Shelley pioneered. And that monster never died at all, far as we know. So Sandor made out well. Still and all, you know the Night King would have only laughed at The Mountain. No threat to him at all. Hell, seeing as he was mostly dead already, maybe he could have commanded him. Moot point.
Of course not, He was not like a nightwalker, the night king was, but was smarter than the others. The Mountain was something like a Zombie, or a Frankenstein created by that ex master, he could serve Cersei foi a while, but he still was concious, and one thing was more important than killing or being loyal, kill his own brother who he hated most.
Why did a few scenes looking up at The Mountain make me think of Thanos? Weird. Bloody best part of this whole season though, and a damn good closure for these two.
this is like me and my brother. "That's what you've always been" yeah...its tough, I hate him for all of the things he's done yet he's still a half each of my favorite people. I keep waiting for cleganebowl, its just a matter of time. It's possible to have such enmity for your sibling like this.
Say what you want about the rest of this episode but this shit, was fucking awesome. I saluted my tv when The Hound and The Mountain fell to their deaths.
@@Lava91point0 I think the contrary. Supposedly it was SELF IMPOSED vow, he was able to speak all along and since he wouldn't be able to kill the queens enemies, he should be able to speak now.
Hug0Pro Well yeah, except he's clinically dead. Why do you think the skin and muscle around his face is all bloated and decayed? His vocal chords at this point are dust, so it makes sense the most he could do is just grunt.
This feud did deserve a fight like this. It fits way better with a personal feud to fight face to face. I think that the ideal end for the Night King would have been a decisive battle or perhaps an intelligent way to defeat him. Maybe in similar fashion to the Witch King in LOTR. Otherwise I think that he could meet his end in a way similar to Sauron.
Just saw this now, but in the books, well before this point, the queensguard was a mockery of what it used to be, with Cersei filling the seven available slots with younger, good looking men she could take advantage of when she wanted to- not filling the seven spaces with men who can actually fight. Sandor/the hound was one of the best swordsmen in the realms, stands to reason he could dispatch a couple of green boys easily.
Also even if we dont take into consideration the weakness of the queens guard the hound is still a fucking monster, skilled with a sword with unnatural size and strength to back it up
Man the awkward exit of Cersei was way too funny.
Not funny 100% fitting cheese dick
He shouldve punched her when she walked by lol
The Hound wiped out 4 Queens Guard like he was late to lunch
fire began their hatred, and it was fire that ended it. RIP HOUSE CLEGANE
More likely the impact to the ground.
I think we can all agree the ''Cleganbowl'' was satisfactory.
true story
Except for the random Arya scenes
From the looks of it, the mountain was more difficult to kill than the night king.

When he went for his eyes i realized i'm still not over Oberyn's death :(
The Hound had the only satisfying character arc in the whole series.
Hype was stronger than queen's command.
Her speech skill wasn't as high as she thought it was.
@@dreadrath Naw it was scripted.
this scene was a cinematic masterpiece, for a moment i thought i was watching a cutscenes from Dark Souls
At least they didn’t fuck up Sandor’s character arc.
Now Beric could rest in peace since his job ultimately is done. RIP Lightning Lord.
Lol Cersei just "aight I'mma head out."
Haven't watched in a good while.
It really was worth the wait.
The mountain looks like Varys !! 😆 ..I freaked out
INNIT, he looks nothing like he did before
He looks like Darth Vader
@@philhead1951 they switched the actor for the mountain three times
The greatest Gladiator fight in the history of the world, The Hound vs The Mountain!
The Hound would have won in a fair fight the mountain wasn't human in the end
Second only to basically any fight scene in The Gladiator. Not even considering that neither Gregor nor Sandor were gladiators
prolly the best thing about S8
Eye for eye life for life
Great edit. Can’t help but feel sad

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks HBO are trying to out marvel, Marvel but holy fuck this was awesome!!!

Obey your queen sir gregor then he Gets thrown like a ragdoll. Sir gregor knew he owed his brother that fight.
The Hound vs Darth Vader
O cão era brabo demais, luta épica.
Yes the finale sucked balls, *but oh man was this fight awesome*
If the Mountain can speak, he could say, "It's over little brother, I have the high ground"
I'm glad they chose to keep him silent for this, would have been stupid if he started talking

harder to kill then the Night King, someone fucked up LOL!!
*than
Remind me, why those two brothers are fighting to death ?
Gregor burned Sandor's face when they were young
They hated each other since childhood? Especially sandor.
Arya: burn in hell
Beric: he will (...)
MOMMY CERSEI: When her Children are fighting! ahahah
The only good part of the episode
It was a draw!
The only decent part of the episode.
I disagree but I do think it was the most epic, it was quite swag, pretty awesomesauce moment
Of the season, you mean.
The night king deserved a fight like this.... Not the mountian

@Vapor Well, they're similar in the way that they are both fantasy but the things I mentioned are classic things in storytelling
The mountain is half breed of an ancient people, and the hound is 0.25
Why the fuck the hound killed 3 quennsguard that easy

I mean the hound was one of the best swordsman to ever live so even if she had a elite guard I don’t think they would have survived
Queensguards are GOTs answer to Stormtroopers.
Sandor wins
he died doing what he loved: falling into fire
