- The iconic ROKON trail-breaker two wheel drive moto-tractor! what a beast. I've really pushed this bike to the limits over the past few years. Its an outdoorsmans best friend. Very at home in the mud, snow, slush and steep country not to mention it looks badass! Enjoy the footage guys. Stay safe out there! Daz :-)
Please note, this is not a sponsored or paid review. I bought this bike and just love it.
One of the best Rokon video's on UA-cam. Informative and to the point. Thanks M8.
Thanks for the feedback mate. Great bit of kit 👍🏿👍🏿
I totally agree the BEST Rokon Video I love my Trailbreaker a lotttttttt
What do they cost?
John Chase Your Google broke?
@@johnchase4408 mine was 10 k
My favorite part is the guy punching the seat 1:34 - This is such an incredibly well done video! So great to watch
I didn't expect that landscape to be in Australia
Looks like it's possibly the Alpine region of Australia...Border of NSW and VIC maybe
Australia has many different landscapes
Love it. An Ozzy vid that isn’t commentary on trending videos
I had no idea Australia had pine trees I wonder what kind of creatures live in that region
@@davidschmidt8391 Drop bears, mate, drop bears......
I don't know how this came up on my recommended list, as I'm not into trail bikes, but I have to say it was one of the most informative and enjoyable videos about off-road related stuff that I've watched in a while. The pacing and style had me hooked from start to finish.
After watching this, makes me want to go out and purchase a Rokon. Oh yeah, I already have two Trail -Breakers. A++ on your excellent review. Heading into the Montana back country in the morning. Thank you!
He forgot to mention that it will float on It's left side with the right side air intake up. It can be swam across deep water and will start when you get to the other side. Also it can be purchased with PTO (Power Take Off) or a trailer hitch. It has a 2,000 pound towing capacity.
Is that the old Rokon with 15 inch tires or can you still float it with the 12 inch tires?
@@billiondollardan both ways
He showed the trailer hitch on his. PTO sounds damn handy though. I really liked the U turn using the kickstand for those times where the path does end.
Hi model won’t because of the spoke vs hollow wheels. Both are 12 inch I believe. Older bikes had 15 inch.
The wheels on the old ones were gas tanks.
One thing that's nice is the fact when you do get stuck, you can operate the throttle without having to mess with a clutch. Loved the video!
Ive wanted one ever since I saw their little ads in the back of field and stream.
It’s a bit of an investment but they do seem to hold their value very well. I love this bike!
yes sir me too!
You deserve a new ROKON every year for this video!! The best!!!!
The best Rokon review I've come across. Great demos of features and characteristics. Thanks!
The biggest defect of this design is no shocks on the rear. Shocks make a huge difference with comfort and traction. I ride mototrials in competition. One of the biggest differences of the new motorcycles and models 20 years ago is the shocks. As shocks improved so did the bikes ability to climb.
Absolutely the best video I have seen demonstrating what the Rokon will do!
What a refreshing review, not padded out with waffle, great work mate.
Thats some seriously gorgeous country you got there. SOOOO green. I lived my whole life in S. Arizona and that much green almost hurts my eyes.
You made me educate about the existence of such a wonderful bike. Thanks to you mate!
It would be sweet to see somebody mount one of these on a rack on the back of a landcruiser or patrol and take them on an overlanding trip
That's precisely what I was thinking!
I have never seen one of these before but now i am wishing i hadn't lol. These are really cool bikes. Thanks for sharing this video and knowledge on such a gem of a motor vehicle
The old one's are powered by an old 2stroke chainsaw engine...
I've seen a lot of Rokon Video, most pretty good, so far this one is my favorite, clear, easy to understand, thorough review Thanks.
outstanding review, mate, thanks for taking the time to share this cool bike...wish they were broadly available in Oz (and that i owned a property to ride one on!)...hope it's still going strong for you
Thanks for the tour! I wish I had a reason to buy and ride one of those, always admired them. But its paved roads for my situation, so different bike.
Outstanding! I'm stunned that you don't have a LOT more subscribers.
Cheers mate. I’m trying 👍👍
Excellent practical hands on review of the Rokon. Well done mate.
He actually keeps his feet on the pegs while riding!!!! First ive seen on a Rokon video!!!! good job mate
Absolutely the best ROKON video ever, Great job , thanks!
One of the best rokon videos I've seen, every informative.
Thanks Darrell! Appreciate the feedback mate
the first no nonsense review of this bike I've seen nice one i would love to see a video delving into the mechanics of the bike
The two-wheeled tractor. Certainly a fantastic bit of engineering. Every UA-cam Channel needs a stuntman. I don't know if I can afford such a Pro. Nice Job Azza.
Good stuff mate. Great to see an awesome end result. Great Vid.
I sure miss my Rokon. I sold mine after 10 years as it was the two stroke model without the articulating front end and it was too noisy and bouncy for me. I have always planned on getting the four stroke version with the better front end someday. Love them as they go places nothing else can go.
They made a 2 stroke???? Gnarly!
Always wanted one. I remember them from the 50's
Tremendous review. Real-world... showing the bike doing what it was built for. Thanks.
Thanks for your support Joseph 👍🏾
@@IntotheMountains
Hey ? What riffle case did you use and how did you mount the riffle
I hadn't seen anyone mention it yet but you did some great camera work here!
Thank you so much for making this video. A really awesome engineerd motorcycle. I would love to own one, but doubt I can ever get one in Norway.
Never even knew they existed. Great review , thank you.
Thanks for sharing mate, very informative. I had seen a few 2wd bikes but most had been garage projects rather than being made by a manufacturer.
Thanks Yash, they are a true engineering marvel. 👌🏽
Great review Daz 👌
one of the best things about something like this is its simplistic reliability, yes modern bikes are most likely more reliable in general but because the engine on the rokon is so simple most issues can probably be patched up at the roadside.
mad unit. cheers for the upload
Great video and thank you for sharing it with us. Cheers from the US!
That looks very nice, the AWD is really cool! Saw this on Jay Leno’s the other day. What a great idea of back country travel!
They really are an engineering marvel. The love it 😊
Awesome review, very well done, thanks. Going to check out the rest of your channel.
Thanks for your feedback Dennis. Enjoy mate 👍👍
I've often wondered what that bike was from your little snippets. Cool bit of kit for sure. I'm hopeless on two wheels 😂. Will stick to my quad!
In 1995 I bought a brand new rokon ranger from the people who imported the argo swamp buggies in Rockhampton in central Queensland he imported only two and didn't get any more .I still have it today, both of the rokons he imported were prototypes with the first gx 160 Honda engines on them, fantastic machine still going strong today. 😊😊😊😊
In a billion years when all other trace of humanity has eroded, only the Rokon will remain.
And Keith Richards.
Keith Richards will be riding one .
Thanks for the review wish I could own one these one my dream bikes for very long time maybe one day darn it
Cheers mate. Keep working towards those dreams. You’ll get get there 🍻
Great review Daz!! They look awesome
Cheers Jamie! They are beasts mate. It never ceases to amaze me what it can climb/carry or tow
The ROKON makes wood chips from a chainsaw being used, go into slow motion. That ROKON, gotta love it !
Excellent Review! Thanks for making it.
Had one for many years, never had a single problem with it.
Good to hear your still enjoying your rokon Peter. Thanks for watching
Great and informative review as usual. Thanks mate! Another bike fanatic here, so I loved this one.
Cheers buddy, we had a lot of fun on this one 👌🏽
Thoroughly enjoyed this video. Got me interested in those bikes
same
I have found the new seat option was great .I liked to drive it more often ,I am getting older but I hunt with it all over Saskatchewan ,I love the fuel consumption also good riding .thanks Ken
Might have to check out the new seats. Thanks for watching Ken. Enjoy your rokon buddy 👍🏿👍🏿
That’s the best review I’ve ever seen of the Rokon. They used to have optional special tires that would allow the bike to actually float on water. Nothing can stop the Rokon until you run out of fuel.
Thanks for your support Andy 👍👍
@Jakob Does it have a small gas tank? I figured you could get close to three hours out of a tank average but really I have no idea.
Jakob I’m not sure if you have any experience on a rokon but I’m getting at least 10 hours of riding on a single tank. I’ve gone on multiple day trips loaded with gear and don’t bring any extra fuel. It runs very efficiently compared to my other bikes.
Andy Black I’m getting at least 10hours riding. I’ve never run the fuel out even o multi day rides
@@IntotheMountains Wow that's more than I expected for sure. I was going by a lawn mower-type estimate but the Rokon wouldn't be running wide open all the time like a lawn mower would be.
Rokon owner here. Love seeing the quality video.
Awesome review of a very interesting motorcycle. Thanks mate... from the states.
Good review, and I didn't expect to be Australian when it came up in my feed.
I was going to make some kind of statement about whats next an Argo review (which I thought might also be obscure in Aus.) but when I googled Argo to check if I was thinking the correct name, I find they are currently imported into Australia.
Would love an Argo. Those things are great!!
I had one and loved it . This video makes me want to buy another .
Very professional review and photography. You could make commercials for the company. Closeups of mechanicals explain far better than talking about it. Love the kickstand feature as a fulcrum for spinning the bike. The log roll was very effective too as was the getting stuck in a hole!!
I had a friend who had one of these back in 1974 it actually had tractor tread tires on it, that thing was a beast it would get places that would blow your mind
Wow that’s a long way back. I love that these bikes have had such an interesting story over the decades. Thanks for sharing 👍
Awesome review! I'm planning on buying one in January to satisfy my need for a bike but power of an atv. I would love to a see more video! Cheers from Canada
Thanks for watching buddy. Will do more on this bike in the future. Stay tuned! 🍻
@@IntotheMountains Awesome! Just make sure I feel like I need one yesterday hahaha. Cheers
Excellent review !! Thinking of getting one myself !! Will look into it for sure .
Thanks Geneo! You’ll love it buddy.
I had one for eight years. Then old age and arthritis made me unstable on two wheels. Loved that bike. It's the most fun you can have with your clothes on. Ride before you buy their not for every one. Don't buy the Autograb model. Adds weight and length with increased maintenance. I made that mistake.
Nice Video. Reminded me of Tim Ralston’s review years ago
Ive always wanted a Rokon. This is a very good video. New sub.
great bike , thanks for the efforts to share , would be a wonderful help in the bush for sure
I LOVE the looks of this thing. First time I've seen these type of wheels/open'; others offer the ability to store fluids in the inner hub.
Found my way over from the fb post, great video!
Thanks for your support Chad! 👍
The older ones had disc wheels that held extra fuel. Best bush bike ever made.
Awesome bikes. You can still option the solid rims. Just weren’t available when I bought this one in Australia 👍
Stunning piece of engineering.
Wow, great bike, and I wish i could go ride over there, looks so beautiful.
The Rokon is pure genius! A smart durable n dependable all terrain motor bike. I would love to own 1 but can’t afford the 6500$ right now. Excellent video, thank you!
Well that settles it, Im getting one!
Thanks for the help.
Go for it Scotty! You’ll love it mate
But did you ever get one?
The best review on the rokon ever 👌
Great review of the Rokon. Looks like it handles steep terrain with heavy gear. No other bike can do that it seems.
You will chicken out going up a steep hill before it will stop lol
Awesome review! Did not know it snowed in Australia!
We have one my dad bought for us in 1971 and it still runs and works perfect today.we use it every hunting season. These things will last forever if you take care of it. Also you can store 2.5 gallons of fuel or water in the rims. It’s sealed . We put fresh water in each of our wheels when we go hunting. Our older model hold a little over 4 gallons if I remember right. You can also float them in water on its side with air box carb side up
Never new these existed! Incredible! And I live in the US....and I ride...
Hi from Southeast Iowa USA. I've had the Scout for two years now and have had a lot of fun. After two months, I had carburetor problems, but the company sent me a free new carburetor and I had to send them the old one back. Also, the air filter sat crooked on the carburetor, which had me concerned, as the back chain kicked up mud and debris onto the air-cleaner cover. I remedied that by making a snorkel using radiator hose from a truck and put an air-cleaner on top of the snorkel. The air cleaner is a new breather for large engine for valve covers. It took some minor engineering, but a do-it-youselfer could figure it out. The service was excellent with the company. So even at 64, I'm still off-road and having fun. C-ya p.s. The Scout has no front suspension. I chose that model for less chain maintenance.
That’s great service and good tips there buddy, thanks for sharing. I might have to look into the snorkel. I’ve heard of a few guys doing the upgrade. Cheers mate 🍻
Great bike Sir and thanks for your enthusiastic style from nz
An excellent review. Thank you for it.
Excellent review!
This is so cool!
And of course , now I want one! 😁
Function over form. Great bike
Great review on the key points of the Rokon. I call mine the slow-kon. It will take a rider anywhere you have the gutts to point it.
It's nice to see that the left turn signal is a universal off road dual sport sign
I love the capability and durability of these ROKON 2WD ALL TERRAIN MACHINES/VEHICLES!!! Someday I will own one or two. Hehehe!!!
Great video, fantastic mechanical mountain goat! Thanks for all the info
Cheers Greg. 🍻
I'm all about my dirt bikes. I'd love to have one of these.
Great review! Thanks Mate-
Cheers Jack!! 🍻
Like that outro music! Cool review
Hi Daz, found your site a few days ago and watched them all, great review's and info. I used to spend a lot of time down that way with my late father, brought back many great memories of cold nights and roaring Sambar. Keep up the awesome job your doing, Ill be following your posts from now on. May I ask what the sound track at the end of the Rokon reveiw was?
Cheers Chris. We love getting out there for an adventure. The sound track on the end was just some stock music on my software. I couldn’t tell you the name of it, just seemed to fit the mood 👍 thanks for watching
Nice review. Good to hear the opinions of someone who actually uses the bike, rather than a professional journalist that only rides it for the test. Too bad I had to stand on my head to view the video, since you filmed it down under, on the upside down part of the planet . . . which probably accounts for your funny speech! 🙃🤣🤠 Good on yeh, mate!
What counts is it will get you there not how fast..superb ..id love one ..every ones in such a hurry these days ..slow down and enjoy it ..gr8 piece of gear
Your spot on there mate. That’s my motto!
Great vid mate. Soooo want one.
holy crap that thing is cool! i want one of these
Why only one Rokon video? I looked thru your web site for more Rokon action. Good video mate! I just ordered mine. It’s a 12 week wait as of now.
Good review mate.
Cheers Pat! 👍👍
Always wanted one of those, perfect
They are awesome bikes mate 👍
I want one of these bikes so bad. It would be perfect for prospecting in the deep bush where my 4x4 truck or quad cant go.
Love it, good review
Awesome little bike.. Could do with 1 of them for the gold fields lol .. Ps that area looks like a great detecting spot cheers 👍🍻🇦🇺
For sure, would be perfect for that. I do a little prospecting but i must say I haven’t used it for that yet. 🍻
