- We have Sonic X Shadow Generations coming out soon, but didn't the original game already get a remaster? Well..sort of!

Why pay more, you ask? The answer is simple: It's not about Sonic Generations. It's about Shadow Generations, which is basically a new game, and you get Sonic Generations for free.
They may of just made it a remaster because they are scared to make games that don't feature Sonic as the lead.
@@Milkmanrules1032nah that’s not it, all the marketing revolves mainly around shadow. Packaging generations in for modern consoles just makes it a better deal
@@roux6715 I think it is both factors
I see it as paying for Shadow Generations more than Sonic Generations
When you look at the box art Shadow is at the centre, the whole marketing is mainly around Shadow, because it's the Fearless year of Shadow
Solid points! But I’m definitely getting Sonic X Shadow Generations and looking forward to completing it, much like I did with OG Generations.
That's not a remaster, that's a port that can actually run the game intended as it is before.
To be fair it runs fine on newer systems even without the enhancements
Why pay more? Well isn't the answer obvious? Shadow the fkn hedhog dude 🔥. Also for me i never really played generations so it's a whole new game for me
Because I want to play on modern console and of course, shadow the hedgehog like dude LETS GOOOO!!
Shadow alone is worth the price of entry 😎
@@powerstarjapan I know 😎
Excellent point that I have not seen anyone talk about - maybe for the frugal gamer with a series x this will work
I feel like the people who complain about it being remastered are the people who only play on PC.
I'm fucking psyched this game is off the 360/PS3 and I can have this on my PS5 and Switch.
This game is a huge W for people who don't game on PC and want to experience this masterpiece on modern platforms.
This is definitely the biggest win for us too! Having it widely available is a total treat. The more accessible, the better 👍
@@Local_Nerd_ exactly I played it on my ps3 and now I can finally play this masterpiece on my ps5 🥹
this isn't really called a remaster it is more of an enhanced port but yeah everybody forgets about this and only remembers the sonic unleashed one and sonic frontiers isn't a boosting game i hate when people say that
This did fly under the radar I feel, but its a wicked thing to pick up if you can, especially since original generations will only be part of a bundle
I played through both unleashed and gens on series s last year; both run great and adabat day finally runs at a smooth framerate lol
It’s crazy good how they both feel now! We’ve had a chance to play Unleashed since finishing this video and it feels…night and day 😉🤣
Backwards compatbility is NOT a remaster. Playing Luigi's mansion on a Wii is not playing a "remaster" of it
Sure but playing Luigi’s Mansion on Wii doesn’t give you frame boost and resolution upscaling to a huge degree.
@@powerstarjapan If the Wii was more powerful it would. Those aren't because of a "remaster" that's just the result of playing the game on different hardware. That's like saying Generations is "remastered" on PC because you switched an Intel HD for an RTX2080.
the boost is not the same as a remaster since it got not revised how it works properly, is just a boost by hardware, the actual Remaster is worked on whit programers doing their job and we got an extra campaign... Also that I preordered it and is not 60 bucks, I paid it as 47 usd at my usual local store since it had a discount for preordering it and having a physical copy again is worth it
That’s a good point! If you can even get it for cheaper like in your case then it’s a great deal. And having the physical copy too!
Why pay more? 🤨 Because you're getting Shadow Generations which is in of itself an entirely new game. They stated this multiple times and the game is just about the same length as Sonic Generations. 💀 There's a reason they are marketing the "Shadow Generations" portion of the game and not the Sonic Generations portion.
This is true! Although originally it seems like they were saying it would be shorter, recently they’ve changed their tune.
@@powerstarjapan they said it might be roughly the same length if not slightly shorter. Not to mention it's hub world is open zone meaning a lot of collectables and stuff.
Since you mentioned that you like how Frontiers feels: To me, Frontiers feels weird. Sonic is slow and clunky and the areas are uninspired.
erm, slow?
@@fiblz5443 The boost feels closer to Lost World's run button than to the other boost games.
4:04 i’ll be honest, I think it’s just with 4k that this happens… I have a series s (so… no 4k) with the fps boost and higher graphics and had no framerate issues when it came to the sonic 1 emulation. Maybe set the console to 1080p and test…? Idk
Very interesting. To be fair when it was tested we turned all the extra bells and whistles off but it might just be the 4K upscaling that causes some weird quirks to occur. It makes sense since they’re emulating the game within a game, which has external enhancements done.
I don't get the slow down with the version of Sonic 1 included despite using the series x enhancements,is this related to using a capture card or something
it got delisted sadly not that long ago
This is a problem too 😭 as soon as a new collection comes the older games get thrown to the wind. It’s a damn shame
Play unleashed on series X it’s amazing
