Not really new startup are from iit and mostly ola etc are from iit bombay
Not really our alumni's are in those company that's why they are setting up their offices in India and providing jobs.

Now not at all it's contributing to us or Indian economy....most of the startups getting failed due to lack of skills or plans.... earlier IIT was hub of education and knowledge but now it's just game of money. People are behind IIT not gaining knowledge.

But India get remittance from Indian diaspora which contributes to the Indian economy and increase the foreign exchange reserve in India. For example India got $11 billion in 2002 as foreign remittance. It also useful for the family which get foreign remittance for their own purpose. Thus it helps from micro to macro level in Indian economy. But the issue you pointed out is also genuine.

we are still the leading importer of basic things which can be made here in India.IIT teaches Engineering then Engineer left engineering to be management heads so if u need to sell the soap no need to do engineering . Clearing CAT joining MBA Most of our defence equipment tools and software all imported from Other Countries like Europe ,Russia or USA.
☝️Every tax payers of India spend crores of Budget for such Government Educational Institutions .At the end these engineer left india or join in sectors Which hardly make any difference for India as a whole to be a self sufficient self Dependent country. These engineer should not be allowed to work as mba management graduate untill Minimum 5 years to world in their individual engineering disciplines like chemical, civil, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Electrical engineering.☝️Most of the time also seen all of these are joining IT sector.IT is Sector where most of the projects are outsourced . Europe, China,Russia,USA these countries give equal importance to manufacturing, IT and every engineering sector.In India IT get more package than a guy who join a steel plant.So here the priority is Money not country.So India till date not able to join semiconductor Industries.We have good managers not good engineer. Infosys founder Mr Murthy once in his IISc Bangalore speech mentioned IITians or any of our Premier engineering Institutions are not yet done any innovations Which really helpful on Humanity.The complete speech available on Internet.Engineeeing study in India needs to be more practical than CGPA based .Then India could be a complete player in each sector in world.Very few negligible engineer working in Government organization like DRDO ISRO HAL or BHEL or any other government Organizations where Engineer truly doing some appreciable Reaserch and Development with some Geniune Output .Here also some do engineering to enjoy Dowry system in marriage ☝️

seriously reservation quota not applied in NEET/JEE/UPSC or any competitive exams. It is applied only on B grade jobs like clerk, teacher, bank jobs etc.

It played huge role in developing White skin nations..India's development was due to humble Indians who stayed back in India and sacrificed luxuries to build our nation.
Many such Indians went to best schools around the world and made efforts by coming back and using their acquired knowledge and skills.

For those saying these people went out to work for other countries and benefit them I would say that was a good decision by them. There are many other talented Indians who choose to stay in India and work for India even though they got best opportunity outside India but sadly they was never used to the real potential or opportunity or got the recognition and many of them spend their last days begging and crumbling to poor condition of life. The people I am talking about is not only just genius brain but also about many athletes, engineers, scientists.

We still have talents working in and for India. So moving abroad is definitely not an achievement these days. And if it is all about earning the money here a person with average talent or little higher than that is earning 15 to 17 LPA and talented goes above it. Developing a developed economy is neither an achievement nor people are jealous about it.
Aman goel is an example that pops into my mind after this, he after IIT Bombay CSE went to US for his job in silicon valley but left it and came back india to grow his startup cogno ai, many would not know him but for me he is the true legend

IIT were made for research but MNC found that good engineers are available at very less cost so they started hiring and now people go to IIT only for placements and the research is gone to bollocks.
