For some reason I LEGIT DISPISE the fact that Det. Quinn looks over to the jury every time he answers a question. Im sure thats what ur supposed to do when ur a state witness but it just rubs me the wrong way
Lawyers used to have all witnesses look jury members in the eyes to boost credibility. Plus, avoiding looking at the defendent prevents intimidation of the witness.
It is something people are taught to do when they testify. It is supposed to give you a better connection or more pull with the jury. It is just trial etiquette or maybe more strategy you could call it. I know the prosecutor tells them to do so. It is very irritating every trial I have seen the state witnesses and even the defense witnesses have looked at the person asking the questions while they ask and then over at the jury to answer. It is obviously taught behavior and not just genuine body language that would make me think someone was being sincere and truthful.
Watch a/e and you'll see in a tv show he said that he messed up a case before not "looking at the jury enough" so he always overly does it now...
he does that as a stratagy cause he lost a case a while ago and swore to look the jury in the face to convince them

This case is full of holes. The judge has let way too much evidence that shouldn’t have been allowed in. Thug is suppose to be this big gang leader with 180 strong yet the lead detective “quarterback” tells Thug when he “supposedly” sees him in the mall that his boy is telling on him yet nothing every happens to Bean. Plus why would Quinn tell Thug that when he is one of the suspects. It’s a lot of BS

And "how to make the jury believe you" doesn't necessarily mean you're lying. You can tell the truth and not be believed if you look like you're lying. The judge is 1000% on the prosecution’s side. Why would he allow a seasoned detective to all of a sudden enter into evidence all the BS stories from seeing Thug in the mall. There is no way for any defense lawyer to prove it to be untrue. It’s way too prejudicial.

I don't understand the problem with Quinn. The real question is, where exactly is the State going with this because even Quinn basically admitted he can't charge because of this? The only thing they got from Quinn is that he interviewed Bean. But Bean has demonstrated he's not a reliable witness. No DNA and no other witnesses place Thug there, I haven't seen any CCTV footage. What is the State trying to accomplish? Quinn has been pretty straightforward.
A smear campaign and hope they convict off shock value evidence… that’s all this is they seized his land and his money and used it to pay for alotb
