- Todays walking tour is approximately 1 hour. Dahab is a recently developed, very liberal Egyptian town on the southeast coast of the Sinai Peninsula. Formerly a Bedouin fishing spot, Dahab is now considered to be one of Egypt's most treasured diving destinations.
Dahab can be divided into three major parts. Masbat, which includes the Bedouin village Asalah, is in the north. South of Masbat is Mashraba, which is more touristic and has considerably more hotels. In the southwest is Medina which includes the Laguna area, famous for its excellent shallow-water windsurfing.
Dahab attracts large numbers of tourists. It is world-renowned for its windsurfing. Reliable winds provide superb flat-water conditions inside Dahab's sand spit. Further away from shore, wavy conditions couple with strong winds to provide formidable conditions for keen windsurfers. However, in recent years, the lagoon inside the sand spit has been overtaken by kitesurfers, with two Russian-owned schools opening right on the beach. SCUBA diving, free-diving and snorkelling are also popular activities with many reefs immediately adjacent to waterfront hotels.

@@AnitaZelikson People said this to me over 20 years back and now you say it’s changed even more so dread to think how it is now! Was there a few times early 90s. It was very basic living. You got a mattress on the floor in a room, no inside bathrooms just a cold shared shower outside. In fact I remember my mate got ticks from there, we had sand as the floor. There was only one biggish hotel but it was in keeping with the place not one of these big concrete block commercial places. There were no fairground or anything like this and lit up by candles at night. I dread to think what it’s like now.
I doubt I will ever return as have fond memories of these holidays and wish to remember it how it was not now.
I did go there a few times it was pretty good

because here in egypt especially cairo and it's metro area look like we are so Conservative but actually if you just get out of this area go farther to the south, west, east, north you are gonna see we're just as Free as you guys are

When was this video taken ? what month and year I am trying to visit and dont know if weather is good all year round
All that information appears at the start of the video. However it is great weather all year around (though the summer is quite hot).
@@4KWorldWanderings last I was out in Dahab was 1993, I tell you it changed so much. there was a couple of places on the water that's about it
it is a good town but I wish you make video like that in sharm el sheikh it is more beautiful a lot than this town it is wonderful
I really did not enjoy Sharm el Sheikh as much. It was much more commercial without much soul. However I will be back one day and will make sure to make that video for you!

Why are people in this small city more casually dressed than people in Alexandria and Cairo?
Beacause it is a more touristic place , and here in Egypt there are places and cities that you can wear what you want like in Dahab or Sharm El-sheikh or Hurghada and a lot of other places , . . And there are other places where you can't be free enough in what you wear . . Only according to the general culture of the place and the surrounding people

ولا كلمة عربية تقريبا على اسماء المطاعم والشوارع والمحلات " عدا لافتة الدعاية لعبد الفتاح السيبسي " , وكأنها ليست جزءا من جمهورية مصر " العربية ! ؟ " . كما يتصرف المصريون في الشوارع وكأنهم سواح أجانب في كلامهم وثيابهم . عقدة الخواجة والشعور بالنقص ! . شيء يدعو الى الاسف و الشعور بالخجل . مع احترامي وحبي للشعب المصري المجتهد والمكافح والعريق .
انا شايف أن عقدة النقص والجهل في كلامك انت ثاني شيئ هذه مدينه صغيره سياحيه تسعون في المائة من زوارها اجانب يعني وحتى العاملين في ذهب كلهم يتحدثون اكثر من ثلاثة لغات أما طريقة الكلام انت مفكر المصرين بيتكلمو كلهم زي المسلسلات يوجد في مصر اكثر من خمسين لهجه وكل منطقه لها لهجتها وطريقته أما موضوع اللبس كل شخص حر في لبسه حكمت على الشعب من كم شخص ماشين في الشارع هذا هو عقدة النقص والجهل بعينه مع احترامي لك وانت لما بتروح مدينه سياحيه وتمشي على الشاطئ بتلبس الجلابيه والسروال ولا حاجه ابقى شوف السعوديه والكوايته والعراقيين لما ينزلون شرم الشيخ بيلبسو ايه وبعد كده اتفزلك براحتك
@@abomoaaz7245 , هل هذا يبرر ان لا تكتب أية لوحة باللغة العربية ؟ المدن السياحية موجودة في كل دول العالم و لكنها جميعا تكتب اسماء محلاتها وشوارعها باللغة المحلية الوطنية , مع استخدام الانجليزية كأضافة من أجل السواح الذين لا يفهمون اللغة المحلية . عندما يلتقط السائح صورة في مدينة مصرية وتظهر الكتابة العربية سيكون هذا اجمل عندما يراها اهله واصدقاؤه و يتأكدون انها في مدينة مصرية عربية . كما أنصحك ان تكتب بأدب واحترام كي تمثل شعبك المصري المحترم والمهذب . المثقفون المصريون انفسهم يسمونها " عقدة الخواجة " وليس أنا من سماها
