Consider switching key/pitching to prevent wrong notes to occurs to makes your mashup enjoyable. It's tough though

I know I only pitch stems of instrumental but leave vox of whatever key they are... ;)

@@mokate9 You don't need to pitch the voice if you pitch correctly the instrumental. But you'll always need to change it more than one time because singer doesn't always stay in key when they sing and the same is true for an instrumental. If the musical scale between the songs are different, sharing the same key will not suffice to mash perfectly. In the end, just use your ears and pitch the instrumental when there's too much wrong notes (if there's just one or two it can add some "spice", as seen in your children of rain mashup with korn)

@@WagnerWarner Maybe I said it wrong... I mean that I pitch all my multitracks/stems (most of Linkin Park ones have stems from GH/RB games; Korn only have SYOTOS, KIII and TPOS stems) of the instruments and I leave vox in org key (whatever key it was - it's like someone fail to sing but it's fine - let it be) for ex. I pitch "in the end" bass with "complex pro" to D Minor but I only pitch notes that I was interested with... In the end was in E♭ Minor and I leave notes that are common with D Minor in this case it was only F, B♭, C... but when I wanted D then I pick up some note that was in the D♭ and give +1 or could E♭ and -1 (depends which one sound better for me)... but sometimes I want melody be the same (or when I'm lazy) I pitch everything to the key that I want... xD depends of the mashup and If it has stems... I could do vox too [specific words; but Everything 'Ive Known is F major relative to D minor so it doesn't need to change the notes; unless tuner shows me wrong note because I'm not absolute pitch guy and I need always check if tuner shows me the truth] but it would be better if JD sing to it but it's not possible xD...
In rare occasions I leave org melody in key that don't fit to each other like in the S.I.B./Battle symphony/Chandelier or the one with 5 lp songs in one...
also I use [let it be called] a "technique" when 1 note don't belong to the scale but other do then I don't change it... like for ex. I want C Major then I could use G Maj/E min or F maj/D min - Dominant and subdominant key... but when it is 2 wrong notes or more between keys I always try to change it to the key that I want (but I mentioned that sometimes I am lazy so... xD)

@@mokate9 I do not have perfect pitch but I easily heard wrong notes but I didn't knew some people needed to look at a tuner to see dissonant notes. By ears it's easy to spot and correct but I don't see someone spending hours and hours with a tuners so I understand that you do not fix all of them
Did you consider mashing up two songs of the same artist? I did that one time for Marilyn Manson and I had pretty nice results without having the stems. Seeing your video makes me want to give it another go someday. The most important thing to remember is to have fun, you do it for you and then for your people. Have a nice day

@@WagnerWarner Well I'm 75% def on one ear so it's little complicate to me (I don't hear bass that good) + it's a study that tell your mind that accept the errors in music when you spend a lot of time on headphones; most of time that's why mix and mastering are wrong hehe... Maybe some day I'll do mashup of the same artist... most of time I start with Traktor 3 and have fun with stems or instrumental/acapella ;) Have a nice day too ;)
