They invented a pump, they discovered a few things about light and that's it.
In our modern universities we invent and discover more in a single day.
I have no idea why muslims believe in this Golden Age except I see their present state and I understand they need some self esteem.
But you can't get that by making up stories.
And that's what I am talking about: this myth of a Golden Age is to restore the [ride of muslims, to the rest of the world it seems pathetic muslims need these myths.
But if you want, name some of those great inventions from your Golden Age, or give us a list of genious muslim scientists.

ikr ! the way they edited this video is pretty amazing. it is very similar to the way Vox edits their youtube videos. you should try searching for that online, I think, the software used by them to render videos is the same one used by vox. although I don't know which software they use to make this video I would love to know how they plan and design these videos step by step.

Yeah! Arab's contribution towards science is very much ignored. They all just appreciate the European discoveries. They don't even mention Arabs in any of our science textbooks. This is really very disappointing!!!

John Howard Your premise that Islam was the reason why Muslims became less productive in scientific discovery is absolutely false. Islam was the basis of the success that various Muslim civilizations had in the natural sciences for example. Islam teaches and preaches for Muslims to explore the universe around them so they can see the signs of God, glorify Him, strengthen their faith and improve their worship. Throughout the Islamic traditional literature like the Holy Scripture (The Quran) and the Sayings of the Prophet are consistent in their emphasis on the importance of learning any type of beneficial knowledge that'll contribute to society or person's faith. To blame Islam for Muslims lack of recent contribution in Science for example is biased.
John Howard Dude I'm not sure if your well versed in history, I'm barely what you call historian but I know that Europe and especially Western Europe was in period labelled as the Dark Ages or the Mediaeval period while the Muslims on the other were flourishing.
