Vienna put most American cities to shame when it comes to architecture. Could be because it is so much older. But I also think Europeans don't mind paying more for the beauty while Americans prefer functionality.
@@samman7324one is only nearly 250 years old, the other goes back more than a millennium. not exactly a fair or apt comparison. though you’re not wrong! haha and I agree, but as far as history and beauty goes, America attains that level of beauty in more than a few instances but Europe is relatively unparalleled in most cases. as far as paying more, i’d argue that Vienna, like Paris, or NYC or any other major city for that matter, the majority live outside the city center in suburbs or outskirts, where it is much more affordable.
And Nathan, You’re right European architecture, esp medieval or 17-18th century intact buildings are a marvel to look at, whether in Vienna Prague Paris London Barcelona Rome Edinburgh Dublin Venice etc.. It’s all so wonderful to look at and walk around. So much history.

The building behind the Maria Teresa monument is the natural history museum, which is excellent. The Museumsquartier, which is a bit more modern and also has the Zoom for children. Also there is the Belvedere palace, Schonbrünn and the Gloriette, the Tiergarten and the aquarium, which is built in a World War II flak tower. For shopping, Mariahilferstraße is very good. The Prater is also worth a bit of time for the novelty of it. Vienna is a great city to visit or live in.
Beautiful video. Last time I was in Vienna was August 1987. Going again this year, 2020, in July. When I was last in Vienna I thought it was the most beautiful city in the world and I fell in love with it. This video has reinforced my opinion. I have booked a longer trip this time based on your amazing video. Thank you so much for showing this city in such detail which shows it off to the best advantage. Now I can hardly wait to enjoy another Viennese coffee and a Sachertorte at a pavement café in The Graben.

Is anyone here looking for landmarks from the film The Third Man? It was fascinating seeing post WWII Vienna's beauty side by side with the destruction of war. It will be interesting seeing the city over seventy years since that movie's filming. And in color.
Your videos are excellent. I’ve been to many places you’ve covered & I can say that you cover the cities beautifully. Only if you could add some commentary, your follower base will explode.
Great video. Love watching videos like this to see what cities are really like, though they still miss a lot obviously (the commuting experience, what it's like inside many of the places as we mostly just get a view from the street). Vienna is often ranked the top city or in the top 5 best cities. You can see in this video why. Very nice looking everywhere, not dirty, too overcrowded, too noisy, unsafe, etc. unlike the other major western cities. Not that it's perfect. It's hard for people to move to since the job market there is rough, it's not really known as a top destination for global migrants like London, Paris, Berlin. If I got a job offer there, I'd take it though.

They are in many languages, sometimes not even german. Arab bakeries for example have only arabic letters on it. Cool, or? 😉
