Would make more sense if this was on dirt/gravel roads but other than that, cool ! Also would be interesting if you tried similar challenge with cars that have realistic (to the period) power.
Excellent video brother! My grandfather hopped up flatheads for fellas running shine. He also hot rodded the sheriff's cars too 😆 so he made money both ways
Theres an idea for "Survive the Hunt" 1920's Theme you have to "carry" Moonshine and you have to blow up a number of cars before you get flee to a bunker were you deliver the "Moonshine"
Bootlegger cars were usually stripped to hold more moonshine and had their engines replaced with any V8. I live just off of the old Thunder Road. Oddly enough I have to use the Thunder road to go to the closest store to get my 80 proof liquor which is government taxed. When it is available I still buy the real moonshine, but I have some friends lab test it first.
Hmm funny timing, I was just talking with the owner of a Ford V8 Flathead, the guy on AutoEsoterica about his 36 ford with a 49 ford motor in it, and then you do a cop chase in beam NG drive OF a ford flat head, funny old world that, also it turns out that they hardened the valve seals and the intakes of them pre 51, so you can actually run it on normal modern gas, although they do really overheat like that with the earlier version of the motor, so that is actually accurate lol and he's still having vapor lock problems with it, which might explain how hot rodding and removing the hood came about, it literally might have been purely practical in nature nice car though, like the interior is genuinely nice
I believe this is River Highway. It's on the Beam repo. It came out a while ago, but it gets updated periodically. It's a giant 8x8km map with lots of cool stuff, but still a small(ish) file size and runs well on mid-spec machines.
This is pretty much how NASCAR, and Stock Car racing began. Moonshiners running from the police in North Carolina. It’s also the reason my family ended up in VA, my Great Great Grandfather was a Moonshiner and fled from NC to VA.
Yeah... it's pretty deeply American that an entire racing industry was born out of smugglers who needed to go legit. No hate on NASCAR or anything, but know your roots.
@@michaelchenault3693 NASCAR fans are pretty familiar with where it came from, they won't stop bitching about wanting to "go back to their roots" and then bitch about it when NASCAR does exactly that
When an Orca pod tries to take down a Minke Whale, they each take turns going at it to exhaust it, swapping out Orcas to rest. For this reason I feel trying to make a pack of police overheat will not work!
Just ditch the flathead V8, and upgrade any other engine... Because the flathead V8, well, let´s just say that instead of nitrous oxide injection into the engine, it much more lacks the liquid nitrogen injection into the coolant...
I understand that it's not a roleplay or anything, but for historical chases like these it would be a lot better to have the cop cars actually look like cop cars and not be all sorts of ridiculous colors, surely the filming crew could show restraint for once?

Hello and welcome to the comments. We are here today on UA-cam with a silly group of racers that all secretly, or not so secretly, want to take one another out.
Fail using the wrong vehicle for a moonshine run. It is a wagon or truck that was used back in the day for moonshine, not cars. Cars were used for cigarette smuggling. For guns, it was 6 wheeler big trucks.
Cars were regularly used. In fact "business coupes" were sold by most manufacturers. These were 2-door coupes with a lot platform instead of a back seat and often no partition between the back seat and the trunk so you could haul tools or goods safely inside the car. Take one of these, hop up the engine and put strong springs on the back for the weight of the moonshine and you are ready to go.
I extracted 324hp from this old flathead V8 with help of Stage 2 Supercharger (all parts stock). However I was not able to fix the overheating problem, I tried electric and mechanical cooling fans, or no fan at all, it seems to make no difference. I somewhat alleviated this problem by installing a 4-speed gearbox and setting a really high final-drive, so the car can "sail" at mere 1500-rpm at high speed. I wish the devs would create an option of "high performance" radiator, but they are too lazy to fix even more glaring problems.
Yea soon as i seen he put 160 hp in that shitbox, i sayed to myself 'hes gonna overheat before he can do anything'. The radiator in that car is horrible.
> flathead V8
> immediately cooks itself alive
the devs really do their homework
Were things really that bad for the flathead V8s?
Would make more sense if this was on dirt/gravel roads but other than that, cool ! Also would be interesting if you tried similar challenge with cars that have realistic (to the period) power.
Yea, the American Roads map would have been a great choice for this.
the blimp was fun, but doesn't turn :)
To be expected lol. hi shados

the whole moonshine stuff is supposed to take place at night, this could ne interesting!
So it's... sunshine?
East bound and down, loaded up and truckin We gonna see how NASCAR was formed.

This in a lotus carlton mod would be marvelous
Or in FH5. At night😮
The bootlegger reminds me of my 1934 crown victoria coupe.😊 nice video, Thanks.
I would like to see more of that. 60`s Police chase next ?
it's not a blimp, it's a Zeppelin! lol
But is it made of Lead?
@@HekkenDarkstormnah the myth busters already did that.

this was great! very much enjoyed this one
I Havnt even watched yet, but I can tell this will be a good one!
Only thing missing is a Blocker. 👊👊
That was great. That map looks good as well, what is it called?

@@SwordHunter37 it is. it's like the roane county map but it doesn't suck
Great chases here
Gotta make sure the Revenuers don't get theirs.
love this new car only wish it had more options. overheating is one of the big problem
It's realistic in the sense that aftermarket parts were probably pretty rare. The customer frame is the only reasonable option.
i really loved this one

I don't think beam has that simulated though.
Alex did a bootleggers chase back in FH4.

Junior Johnson Simulator.
Also, yeah, I tried to make a vintage Modified stock car first day I had this update, and it liked to get warm.
RUN ALEX RUN!
Aren’t you supposed to run moonshine at night?
Yes, more of this
Good fun.
An opportunity to try some vintage stock-car racing? I presume this game has some cinder ovals..?
alchol runrr :)
Blues 🕶🕶 Brothers episode when?
Alex immediately being very British by driving on the wrong side of the road.😂😂😂
Helllllooo and welcome toooo the SHOooowwwwww. My ex loved that bit the most
No wonder its overheating its revving to 6500rpm!
Can't wait for the day of native Beam MP, that framerate hurts.

Actually, they *did* use cars as well.
As the person above said.
Though trucks and wagons were more for moving equipment or product in safer areas without police.

I was talking about moonshine, which they use wagons to get more than a single case. You can smuggle more cigarettes in a car, then moonshine.
There's no reason they couldn't have put moonshine in the back and they absolutely did if they needed to
UA-cam kept fail from me for a whole two minutes
Oh it easy to fix. One way is plus. The other way is to refresh it. That well fix it.

There's a line of code for radiators in the vehicle files, if it bugs you that much you can create a mod.
