His partner was hit and returned fire and survived. They caught the guy within the hour. The police radio transmission is on UA-cam

If people only realized what an officer goes through. I have a nephew in law enforcement I pray everyday he comes home safe to his wife and babies. You put everything one the line to serve and protect. We just had an officer shot in our state of Minnesota. Thank god he is okay. Our state has gone to hell. They protect the criminals. They should be behind the officers. I fly my blue thin line flag everyday rain or shine our officers appreciate it.

They should insert the same concern and talk for 1 hour when they kill a citizen who was not armed. Instead they say nothing they cover it and you crazies police and glorify them like calling them officers they're not officers that police officer is a commission distinguished military title you earn in the United States armed forces. Going to the police academy does not count you called him officer they called themself officers it's stolen valor. Officers are veterans the ones that are in Arlington nation cemetery. Officers are the ones that gave their lives up in Normandy Midway other battle in World war II these real officers gave their their lives so that you and the police today could be free and living in America rather than in the Nazi Germany communist country.

A fitting tribute for for Lieutenant Doty and all our local heroes serving every day. Always remember the sacrifices that they give so we can feel safe daily. (Especially holidays, weekends, and nights) While we enjoy time with our families and friends, they are protecting us for mediocre wages at best and constantly putting their lives on the line. Next time you see a public service official (Police, EMS, Fire) say “Thank You” to them.

Thank yall for presenting this! It's easy to forget the POLICE have a hard job sometimes and they are Human just like everyone else..except some are legit HEROES. YOU cannot understand the fear of being hunted in a forest, in the dark by someone who knows the area like back of their hand and they are prepared to effect lethal damage.
They did a good job of recovering this event. They communicated well. You can feel the genuine fear they all had from moment they prepared to get there till moment they began taking fiire. The Dog finding its handler was precious to hear, and that Dog went back to work..that's a good Dog.
They worked well as a team for sure...I am Proud of their Bravery and in awe the guts ut takes to be sonafraid but to keep advancing toward that scene, target and each other.
That FLIR WAS INSTRUMENTAL..it seemed like hearing the effective fire was directed by nughtscope as ut was hitting targets like Helecopter 1000s of ft. In air and hitting men in the dark with accurate fire. Keep thinking of how fearful it is to be in pitch black forest taking fire...smelling Cordite(close close close).
Well done all...this was a bad deal that could have gone so much worse had they not performed so professionally.
Damn..York Police did an awesome job. Still in mid part 1..so far that's my thoughts. Very intriguing and grateful this was posted for others to see.

I'm struggling to get to the end of 3rd part.
I watched all 1 and 2 parts and up to the point in part 3 that Mike (God rest a brother in Arms) .
I am a veteran with many challenges from what war can do and know first hand what addiction can cause to instability.
These videos showed me that Law Officers at any rank or assignment can at No Notice be prepared to respond to any crazed circumstance and deliver the most effective means.
As a soldier, we had a lot of intel to see most of our next missions. These folks often go in blind gathering info as they go.
My hat is and had always been off to first responders and everything they do for us free, peace loving Americans.
God bless you all and I share a Molly Hatchet song in your memories and Honors.

The officers that are constantly in danger of losing their lives have a right to defend their lives like anybody else. If you are shot and killed by a police officer it sure isn’t because you’re picking flowers. RIP to the fallen officer and a speedy recovery for the wounded. Mesmerizing story, because it’s all real, a lot of police officers never fire their gun at another person it’s not normal in a lot of areas as we wish it was everywhere. I can imagine the fear, shock and adrenaline running through them. I can imagine his fear for his dog as well, they are your partner but they also are family. Human side of mistakes, fears and real life tragedy unfolding makes it that much more captivating and engrossing unlike the movies where everyone never makes a mistakes. Thank you for your service, bravery to run in when most run out. Blessings to all and continue to tell your story that is how we heal, share it as many times as needed so it loses its power within.

People, including too many cops, just don't realize how dangerous just a simple "man beating his wife" calls can be. And has been for many, many years.
My Mama's cousin by marriage suffered for many years before he died because he turned his back on the wrong man.
He got a call to his partner's daughter's home because her husband was hitting her. He went out to talk to the guy and he didn't want to arrest him, it was his partner's son in law. He thought he had him calmed down, or so he thought, turned to walk back to his car and the guy pulled a gun from behind his back and shot her cousin in the back.
He lived totally paralyzed for about 10 years or so before he died.

How times have cops🐽 just gunned down innocent people or they all just open fire on people when their lives aren’t in danger. & just the way cops🐽 speak to people like aggressive tyrants & often leads to a lot of unnecessary deaths.
And these cops🐽 are making a sympathy video about them being shot & shot at.

It truly bothers me with what’s going on these day with the police. It puts hate in my heart that there are people out there who think it’s ok to attack these men and women who go out of there way to protect us. There are people in every profession who shouldn’t be doing that job. I don’t see protests when a plumber screws up or when a doctor makes a bad call. You can’t blame them all for one persons mistake. Most importantly who will come to my aid when I’m in trouble? Black lives matter? Antifa? The president? Nope. It’ll be the police. Therefor no matter what happens in the future I will alway back the blue! Thank you for this documentary! These men are true Americans and should be honored and supported. Rest In Peace Lieutenant Doty. Blue lives matter! You’ll always have my support!

Well remember it depends on where you're from. We're used to the 110+s in the summer here in my state which I'm sure you'd be complaining about. 17° for us is freezing temps, they always send out warnings for any unexpected events. Our environment isn't accustomed to "freezing temps".

My grandmother had a saying we all should live by. "Believe non of what you hear, and half of what you see." This was before TV & Internet! She meant, "check things out for yourself" before believing what others say is the real truth! I feel for the truly suffered with any loss experienced, but I have seen stories told as all true events before. Just to find out the stories were twisted it was like a fairyland tail. Just look what happened a short time a go out of Philadelphia police department. The Cops beat a innocent women with her kids in the car with her at the time. She had not broken any laws, but cops were very mad at a group of other people, and took it out on her car & herself. I have to credit the Cops they didn't beat the two kids! The cops took her 3 year old son, and used a staged picture of son & a female cop. They said the found the child running around free in the streets. They said they rescued the little boy, and posted it to their website. They quickly took it down when it was seen by the citizens that knew who the child was, and that the cops were the beaters of the mother. The cops said it never happened, and they didn't know where the child was because they said it never happened. Only one POLICE officer told where the grandmother could find the boy. Went to find him there they found was the boy abandon. Child was in a police car unlocked sitting in a car seat full of broken glass with glass in his hair. No cop cared about the boy not one because he was black! Thank GOD the family found him, but the little boy is extremely traumatized to this day. The cops have created another distrusting cop hater with good reason! Philadelphia police / Cops keep up that good work while you can, because your Qualified Immunities will soon be gone!

Level of response is important. If you don't press drunks to hard, chances are you can wait them out for the drunk to wear off. Let the cold do it's job. It takes time but it is better than getting into a plinking contest. If the bang bang does begin, use the chopper to drop him on the spot. Invest in a nvs scope and mount. Case point of "control"; my neighbor ran himself over while working on his old car. I hear him squeal as he's ran over, safed the car and ran in his house to call the coppers. I ran back out and setting a tourniquet when john wayne copper pulls up. Don't do that, he yells. Press here which pissed me off for if I was pressing "here", I couldn't move if another problem revealed itself. Taking control of the situation is good but if you piss off the volunteers, don't ever expect help in the future. This is a no bueno thingy.

Pity they didn't have a sharp-shooter/sniper (whatever the correct term is) on that helicopter....the whole thing could have ended differently.
I also think that people should not be allowed such high-powered rifles/assualt rifles. I have 4 firearms but none of them are as powerful as that. I am most definitely not anti-gun....obviously, but things like fully automatic rifles should not be legal with the exception of law enforcement/military. I understand that most gun owners are responsible but when shit goes down, like school shootings, we all lament as to how this could have happened.....well, this is exactly why!!!

I submit to you that guns aren’t the problem. Soft targets are. My children are in high school. Our local PD staff the HS as security. They are of course armed. We guard our money by staffing banks with armed guards….and bank robberies are very rare. They also aren’t endlessly hyped in the news. We “guard” our children at schools with GUN FREE ZONE signs. Which does a criminal take more seriously?
And there’s no such thing as an assault rifle. Assault is a verb, an act. People do that, not things.
If I stab you with a screwdriver, should we start calling them assault screwdrivers?
Maybe if real discipline is champion in homes and schools again, these young idiots will realize schools are not target zones.

Fully automatic weapons ARE illegal to the average citizen. Sure in today's world I'm sure are ways to manipulate them but that doesn't mean they're legal. And I hope you're not implying that all of the school shootings that happen are happening with "automatic weapons" because if you are that shows how much knowledge you really have.
