Simply Railway oh man. Coast starlight is the best in the country by far. Have done it 6 times. You have experienced the best of the best in the US sir. There is another less scenic but more luxurious train than the Coast Starlight that runs between New York City and Washington DC through Philadelphia called Acela. Scenery wasn’t pretty at all but the train is very nice. To me the scenery is very important, then comfort. Next month will be my first experience for Geneva to Lyon. I am so excited now that I have found your video. Cannot wait for this train. Also doing Brussels to Chur via Koln on DB ICE. Goal is to see the most beautiful routes in Switzerland. I have been researching routes for a month for the least expensive most beautiful routes in Switzerland. I decided upon using RE only, no IC trains. Chur to St. Moritz, St. Moritz to Zermatt via Andermatt, Zurmat to Luzerne via Interlaken, then Luzerne to Montreux via Golden Pass. I decided to skip the Glacier Express an Bernita express because they are incredibly expensive and RE trains follow the same exact routes with less people I hope. I have zero experience with Swiss/German/French trains..so please offer any advice sir. I’m sure I could have done better but this is how we learn right? For a train lover this is my dream come true adventure. So excited it is difficult to sleep thinking about it. And I’m an old man. Never too old for trains it seems. Also the train stations in the US are unbelievably beautiful on the EAST coast sir. You must visit Washington DC station and Grand Central Station. Amazing. You could easily spend 2-3 hours exploring each. Best regards from California!
I lives in Lons Le Saunier. I love to travel and I travelled to many places in France like Dijon, Besançon Viotte, Dole ville, Bourg en Bresse, Lyon Part Dieu, Paris Bercy and Paris Gare de Lyon. I have noticed one very common thing! Whatever you take, either bus or train, only those trains or buses are in better conditions which either go to Paris or which are going international or are TGVs. Other trains and buses are not usually well furnished. The SNCF should also work on this as those trains have not a cozy chair for seating nor they have electric ports around every seat. Also, alot of cupholders are broken or are about to broke.
I always wonder why in France (not only France though) the platforms are announced within 15 minutes before departure. Here in the Netherlands everything is known already since the start of the new timetable. I have been in Part Dieu once (and Gare du Nord) and it just seems inconvenient to me that hundreds of people are heaping up in front of one display to patiently wait for a platform to appear, to then cause a mass migration of these same people stampeding the platforms to get to the train. Is there information anywhere beforehand on how long trains are? Here it is and with that information people can prepare and spread better over the platforms, together with signs along the tracks indicating where trains with an X amount of carriages should stop.
Because both these stations function at full capacity with lots of subsequent trains on the same platform. If train N+1 is announced before train N has arrived, the platform is dangerously full of 2 train's worth of people and people on train N cannot get out. Especially Part Dieu with very narrow platforms...
hi , i booked 2 tickets from Lyon to geneva using TER, but in both seems like my name written there and not my partner names in 2nd ticket. is it fine for TER train? i have booked online and put name properly
Those curtains and that cupholder make this train awesome - looks like something out of a classic movie
New fan. I’m staying put. Best train videos on UA-cam. Hands down. Regards from as CALIFORNIA sir!
California :) I've tried 4 years ago the coast starlight from Oakland to LA, was AMAZING

Very helpful as going on this journey soon! Thanks. Très utile pour commencer ce voyage bientôt! Merci

Might be because there are many last-minute changes on French railways...?
It’s for security against Islamic terrorism

@@SuperRinghio92 absolutely not, its been a thing forever and its because they only want to show the platform when they are sure it wont change
Excellent !!!
These corail coaches are very common in Alsace
very helpful. Definitely First class is worth it.

The title is a little bit wrong there are corail TER going to Switzerland on the line Strassburg-Bale

Very nice video👍

Depuis 2015 il me semble.
Anyway let's go to switzerland and see if they are smarer than french.
You're so cute
