Walk Don't Run is considered to be the very first surf song of that genre, even though it was popular in 1960. The surf song genre would not come to the musical forefront until 1961 when the Beach Boy released Surfin', and Jan and Dean, the Beach Boys and many other groups would cash in on the SoCal surf craze in the years to come. Notice in Walk, Don't Run how the guitar riffs sound like crashing waves.
what key is your lead guitar backing track in Tom ? original key of A minor/ A major just like the original ventures record ? or transposed to different key for creative purposes ?
It seems like it should be an A minor and I think I used to play an A minor, but if you listen closely to the Ventures, they are playing an A major. You can hear the C#. However, if you play an A minor it will certainly sound fine.
Nice! Life-long Ventures fan. Thank you!
Great track -- just what I need to practice the "Walk, Don't Run" lesson you put up the other day. Thanks!

Very good work.... thanks
.75 speed and this is really good. A little fast for me at 100 though. Thanks for another great backing track!
Thanks, I think I made this a little too fast.
It’s great practice for when our drummer is on beer 3 though. Thanks again I love your channel!
That’s funny! Thank you so much, I appreciate it.

@@ryanmcdonald2027 A major and mostly a minor
I would be really appreciated if you can do a lesson of backing guitar or rhythmic guitar on this song, mainly because we exist
Chords are:
A G F E
C G C C
C C Am Am
F E Am E
Shouldn't the first cord be Am it doesn't sound right with A major ?
It’s an A major.
Am sounds better than A major

Sir please play Meet Mister Callahan by The ventures with tab.
I’ll give it a listen!
Thanks Tom another great track what BPM IS THE TRACK ? thank YOU.
According to my metronome, 165.
@@thedevilinthecircuit1414 Thank You.
How do you make your BTs ?
In Logic Pro
I love this but I think the tempo is a tad too fast
The Ventures’ recording clocks in at about 158 bpm. Mine is 165 bpm.
Too fast. Takes away the feel of the song.
Thanks for listening
Too fast
That’s to fast
