I wish more fighting games would adopt Dragon Ball FighterZ's post-match chat system using canned texts and stamps. One 'n dones don't feel as shitty in DBFZ because at the very least, anyone with a smidge of decency could easily post a "something came up" sticker/stamp to signal they're dipping out early. I have TONS of stickers in SF6 that are just left unused because they're only usable in the BH chat or custom room chat.
i loved queuing up krillin's solar flare sticker and would hit it after they hit to leave the match so they see it like .5 seconds before the screen transition hits
I played a luke in casuals and I won 16 games, they won 1 and left right after lmao.. I gotta give it up it was pretty funny. They played like a maniac of course
see thats the thing. it could be any, all, or none of those reasons. at a certain point in sfv i had to realize that people will play the game HOWEVER they want to, and thats fine. when i really accepted that fact, i found myself not really caring about whether they rematch or not. i just move on and play someone else. i feel its a psychological thing, and i can only control myself and how i react.
Or bc the game wasn't fun lol I will leave after winning if you don't play honest footsies with me. I'm not abt to keep fearing di cuz you won't hit the lab it's annoying
yeah, the only time i 1 and done is when the connection is bad or their PC makes the game too slow/choppy to play properly. i find that people doing it to me bothers me more when i'm at certain parts of the skill curve of a game. when it's a game i know really well, i don't get as upset because it's just like you said, "they admitted defeat." but i've picked up a couple of new games recently (3s and UNI2). and in both of those i feel like i've developed a "level 1" offense that's working for me, but i still don't know what all the counterplay options to my offense is, or what's "real" or "fake" yet. and that's when the 1 and doners' refusal to try to adapt to my play is really robbing me of valuable time and knowledge. like, isn't the whole fun of fighting games trying to figure out / adapt to your opponents? am i just a geezer? btw i used to play resto druid too, A+ class and spec :D
i don't one and done often, but if someone just plain has me, there's no point continuing, i'm not gonna waste my time and i'm not gonna waste theirs, they aren't learning anything by trouncing me handily, and neither am i, but i'm also not ever playing ranked or street fighter past 3rd strike the only other time i do it is if the connection is bad, but i upped the connection quality filter so i avoid that now
Don’t always get mad at a one and done. Sometimes things come up. Yesterday I had to one and done, cause my wife was waiting for me to move my car lol. Shit happens. It’s better than a rage quit.
Capcom has to take away the quit option until the FT2 is finished, same with their battle hub tournaments. Thats it. i hope this becomes the new "rollback" outcry and we can get FT2 (or better yet, ft3) in sf7
@@therealblackcerberus2371 correct. You do not have the option to decline a game. So the only way to “one and done”, is to turn off your system, which you would get DQed
@@metalgeartrustysomeone else in the comments for this vid put it best. Keep the quiet button between games, but if the set isn't over it is a SURRENDER button. Problem will become almost not a problem after that.
Force ranked to be the entire set in every fighting game. I don't care about your excuses. You queue up to play a 45 minute LoL match, you can play a 5 minute FT2
💯. Frfr. Bro i remember playing League and my wife calling me to do something. Im like i cant pause or quit babe😅. They should definitely force the Bo3. And if u rage quit. U get a time out like league.
I agree, but I think it should always be FT3. It's the fairest amount of matches, for the shortest amount of time. It gives each player the opportunity to adjust in a reasonable amount of matches, the freedom to loose without the risk of jepordizing the entire set, and it makes for good viewability. FT2 is just too short. One loss, and it's already game point, and it's just too easy for people to autopilot and win their sets.
sf6 is the first fg for me, and i one and done if the connection is bad or if the opponent is much stronger (i won't learn anything in the second game that will make me a better player, and i'd rather spend my time playing someone who's skill is relatively similar to mine even if i end up losing, because in these matches i can actually try things and learn how to react to whatever my opponent is doing). also sometimes i quit if i really don't feel like playing the match up. other than that i really don't understand, why people leave, and the idea about saving points seems ridiculous to me, since you'll eventually lose them anyways to better players if you climb high enough leaving every second game
Add an option like "best of 5/7/9 rounds". If both sides have it turned on - match configuration will override. Add surrender option in between rounds.
I love that idea! "Surrender" : I bet people wouldn't pick that option as much then. "Leave match" etc is just like a kind of nod and a wink 😉 to go haha
Best to play casual matches, you get plenty of long sets, can really pick up on what your opponent is doing, and they'll figure you out and show you where you're being predictable. In ranked it's one match, with an optional rematch, only problem there is with expectations and entitlement
@@legensy9485yea. There is probably something you are doing wrong. Why not try something out. Learn to learn and improve. You will not get hurt/penalized for trying unless you tie some type of self worth into your MR.
@@Un1234lyou can learn from a match but I’m sorry Ain’t nobody trying to risk their rank. I do multiple matches on casual or battle hub. But you can forget it in rank
@@legensy9485 So your solution to your gaping holes in your foundamentals is to ignore it and climb higher with one and doning where people have even stronger fundamentals? great plan
I've expressed my personal thoughts on this before and been internet-crucified but I'll stand on it. Points should only be distributed on completion of FT2 OR in the event of a one and done they should be accordingly subtracted from the leaver and awarded to the player that stays. Yeah we all gotta get up and run to get the door sometimes it's a fact of life. You can get those points back and the added bonus is nobody's time is wasted. If it's happening often enough that a player feels they are not reaching a representative rank then that is a personal issue atp. If the FT2 isn't a big deal, fine, the points aren't either. Battle Hub and Casual Match are literally right there
I disagree with awarding pts for 2 matches simply because we don't always know the reason for leaving. I do plenty of f 2 10s but I may have to leave after 7 because of my kids needing something ans SF is not that kind of priority. I fully am on the camp of mid match leavers being penalized regardless of reason but if they complete the match and don't press rematch I have no anger towards them. Plenty of reasons they can leave but at least they respected your time enough to finish the match and not leave mid round off of a rage quit.

@@Firebacon1gg you're saying you boot up the game, queue up, play one game and then you're done? I mean there's nothing wrong w that and that would still be doable w the changes proposed. You would wind up with a point deficit but if that's really all you do then you might as well just queue Casual
The few times I interacted with people online after ranked sets were alright, but twitter makes the weird interactions seem so common. The two that stand out the most were in sf6 - a Juri randomly brought me into a room and we had some games and good talk about Luke/Juri interactions - and UNI2 - guy brings me to player match were we play for 40+ games and I leave because my hand starts hurting. We have cool people out there in between the one and doners.
I usually ever one and done behind poor quality, a call from my momma, or shit I am at the end of my energy for today. BUT. That last example is SUPER rare
They have the right to leave. However, what most bothers me about that at my current level (Diamond 3) is that 95% of people who do this use the most ridiculous strategies to get there LOL (I still consider Diamond a beginner player.) I would like the chance to adapt and improve but they just leave smh.
Tekken 8 was crazy with is. I live in an area where the player population is low for fgs so it would take ages to find a game and a large majority of sets ended in one and dones. I dont know why its so much more prevalent now. Maybe its the MR system. Ive seen things like "your opinion doesnt matter" if youre under an arbitrary MR. It definitely did happen in sfv and other fgs of course but its really feels way more commonplace now.
A lot of people can only think in terms of one objective. If it's fun mode, they're there to have fun or learn. They can focus on that specifically. But as soon as there's another objective (points), then that's their focus. That, and just that. Nothing else. So as soon as you threaten that either with a win or even close loss, you're threatening their objective, so they're gone.
Ranked should just force the set most one and dones in ranked are people leaving after getting a cheap win or people playing troll-y. If people want to one and done they can go to casuals. Getting one and done like 3-4 times in a row just makes me want to hop off
I think part of why its happening in sf6 a lot is that the game is so hard to control. Its more frustrating, because ‘happy accidents’ happen so much. People (including myself ngl) are feeling worse about playing this game than previous sf games, which had their own problems. So I think the “im done with this dumb game” mindstate turns into one and done more often than other pvp games
I feel like that's gotta be a placebo. Cause people have been arguing about the controls since launch. But going back to the T8 example, one and dones are even more common, and that game is even easier to control than SF6. If a player is salty, you'll make up any excuse to justify why it's not their fault.
Street fighter 4 had no rematches in ranked unless the person found you again and you accepted them. This new generation would lose their minds in that game.
Probably comes under ego but a lot of people play with the mindset that everything the opponent does is cheap/gimmicky, and so in their mind why would they rematch to vs gimmicks when they could play footsies with someone else (spoiler, no one plays footsies according to them)
The only real one and done that get under my skin are the Win Quits. If they lose and one and done it kinda gives me a little bit of dopamine at least.
Is it a problem? No one owes anyone anything and i say this as someone who does really long sets. Far ad im concerned no one owes me, no skin off my back.
You're right. No one owes anyone anything. We are not owed a rematch, which in turn means they are not owed a match. Capcom should just make the option for online straight up unselectable and greyed out for players who one 'n done too much. Capcom adopting the "no one owes anyone anything" mentality sounds like a healthy approach to a thriving community /s.
If no one owes anyone anything, then we should put a symbol for frequent one-and-done next to the wifi symbol, the issue is currently it only goes one way and those who don't play the set can choose while those that do have to put up with it. So make it fair
This is way worse in tekken. Also people in smaller regions always rematch and usually very respectful because if you got to many bans you are fucked lol
Here IM Brazil ppl Win, hold down or tap down on the menu after the First match and quit 1 séc on the timer. Like teabagging during menu. Its sickening

Really good video. I personally have been having kind of a tough time with ranked lately, seeing a lot of worth in MR,and sometimes i really do wish to one n done. But i don’t and i actually feel that’s to my detriment sometimes,i get more salty and more annoyed,i don’t learn anything because my head is stuck on a loop, and there’s a possibility i lose more points and face more anguish about having to get it back and how am i gonna get it back. That paired with not knowing how i lost other than reducing it to “i just guessed wrong” 😕. But everything in this video still makes sense, even if i’m not really on the best stage to apply some of this knowledge.
Why do people one-and-done? - _"This character is extremely annoying and I don't wanna deal with them."_ - _"This player seems to have my number and I don't wanna lose more points."_ - _"What just happened there is some BS and it was a knee-jerk reaction."_ Or all of the above. This is of course barring the obvious terrible connection or real-life interruption reasons. I usually one-and-done Lily even if I win lol Regardless, I've always had a hard time with taking losses well and learning from them, so I'm constantly working on getting better about that. Even more than that, though, I find Ranked very stressful and usually don't wanna play it due to the stakes and possibility of losing progress. This makes me much more impatient since by default I think of Ranked as "get it over with as fast as possible to get that rank/MR." I'm trying to become cooler with playing Ranked more often and enjoying the process, but it doesn't come naturally and requires a lot of mental and emotional conditioning to try to feel that way in the moment. _EDIT: closing thought: If you're suddenly seeing it more often, it might be that people hate fighting Bip._
feel the last paragraph (before the edit) immensely. Sometimes the process is hard to enjoy when there’s self-placed stakes like that, and the more losses happen and things don’t go as planned, the more difficult it is to crawl out of that pit of not enjoying it at all
@@PomadaGaming Yeah, exactly-not to mention how getting frustrated sabotages your ability to play well and causes more losses. Ironically, the better we can get at managing that, the more consistent our results will be, and the less likely we'll be to continue a losing streak.
@@DethMetalGuitars Don't pretend to understand why people play Ranked even when it stresses them out; your comment betrays your lack of knowledge on the matter
19:32 100% Resonate with this. Though I never was around s***faces when the arcade was alive, I hate playing people that are douches or a**holes, but have skill and would rather play someone at a far lesser skill level but are cool. I've had that experience with many people on fightcade, and it's like you just log on and all of a sudden you are thrown into 'beef' you never asked for, and all of a sudden you have to fight for your reputation lol and prove yourself for something you never asked for. In the early kaillera/GGPO/supercade/etc. days there were so many people beefing for no reason (some were so sad, they would have photobucket collections of all their wins, with their character win pose over yours) people who play fighting games often times have the most fragile egos and people who won and done often are like that. I understand being salty but to many, playing online fighting games it's like a test of personal worth and they put everything on the line for these matches lol. I don't even understand how people can even feel outplayed often in a game with throw looping and drive rush.
I only one and done for 2 reasons: 1.) I just fought the same toon multiple times in a row and I’m tired of it or 2.) the lag was so bad that I’m not going through that again. Otherwise, I run sets 99% of the time.
I don't one and done often but the times that I have, it's absolutely either due to being figured out and not really thinking fun/learning is being had or the connection being basically unplayable. FG's have taught me that I am NOT fast at learning everything as much as I may have thought so lol
maybe to encourage people to play the full set they could make it so you earn some bonus LP/MR for winning the set. the people who duck rematches will slowly but surely get left behind
I thought dragonball fighterz solved this problem: At the end of the match just offer two options: Rematch and Character Select. Unfortunately the game didn't have a deep penalty for rage quitters, si it was ultimately useless, butnat keast thwre was the thta
It wouldn't change much, it's not SF's or DBFZ's fault. Some people just don't want to and regardless of all the options you give them they'll leave. The only thing devs can do is give an incentive to play the full set which is a solution we haven't seen before
I’ve one and doned a few times but it’s always cause something comes up. No other reason. I got a toddler and wife that are needy. But really, we all go through this. So it evens out. Every player goes through this. Just part of the game.
Bro this literally happens in multiversus too, a lot of fighting games now, like we're hitting a shift in how people play these games now. I dont one and done unless something comes up or your connection isnt up to par. Just weird idk
I only leave if the connection is bad. Otherwise run the set, even if you're not happy with your gameplay, you can always go back and analyze why you lost.
I rememember when my connection was bad this one day and I somehow won. What made me confused is that they wanted a rematch, not 1 but 4 times in a row. We got some good fights out of it, but I didn't want them to suffer through my connection.
If I was a poker player and I let a clearly superior player drain me to “learn” then I am a bad poker player Most of the time for me… something comes up. Second, the connection was bad. Third, it was a bad matchup. Gief vs Dhalsim, Lily or Jp is pointless so, I will generally dip after game 1… win or lose. I will practice the matchup in battle hub or in training, but I would prefer not to get point farmed in ranked.
I think there should always be the option to the player considering life happens and they may need to leave and do something. There are definitely salty people but if you’re super tilted and don’t wanna play another match I feel like having the choice is needed
Ultimately, it's all ego. Very few people appreciate the strategy in a fighting game and would rather just see the number go up or invent a reason why you're cheating/smurfing. I've been using the Battle Hub for matchmaking almost exclusively since SF6 released. There are still one-and-doners but the vast majority of the time I can play a longer set of 5+ games, then talk about the matchup and have a social interaction. The ranked point paradigm is poison and always has been, in every game and genre.
I've been getting one in doned a lot more in ranked recently. It seems character specific for me. When I play chun in masters, I almost always get the full set, when I play Aki in masters, I get one and doned win or lose or even 1-1 after they win the second round. Rashid in masters is pretty consistent full set but less thab chun etc. Its frustrating regardless because I dont really care about points, but I do care about me getting to learn against all playstyles and if you dont run the set because of made up digital points... Yikes.
Everyone has been guilty of this. Its all dependent on your attitude at the time of playing. The best way is to embrace the losses, wstch the replays and lab the problems. Be grateful for the GGs and become better" - if youre in a shit mood none of that is likely 😅
I used to get matched with this modern marissa in gold all the time. I enjoyed the match because they were usually pretty close and I got to learn the marissa match up pretty well. They weren't a bad player but I won every set against them. The last match we had ended with with them winning the first 1st to 3. They Immediately quit. That shit felt bad because I assumed even though they lost they may have been having fun with me. They took rounds off me. They weren't an awful player at all. They took their win and ran. I guess I get it. I must have been a player they had to overcome but to not finish the 1st to 3 felt like they sucker punched me, ran and would tell everyone that they beat my ass. Still think about this shit and this happened before Aki even came out.
The best one-and-doners are the YOLO Kens that charge at you and OD DP on every wake up. You think... they can't possibly keep playing like this. They do, end up winning the rounds and run away with their points. I can respect that.
I really think people should play more casuals if they don't want to play certain matchups or certain people. Sometimes I just wanna play for fun, so i quit certain mus, but I don't go to ranked for that.
>matched up against a Guile who plays super aggressive; EX flashkick everywhere >he wins one game and leaves >i get matched against him again five minutes later >i bait EX flashkick and let him die >he loses one game and leaves Some people truly don't care about anything, including themselves.
I don't like the game, so I quit after one match, both in T8 and in SF6. Then I stupidly requeue, hoping for an actual good close match (without some dumb customization). Which happens maybe once in 20. I like granblue so I mostly stay. T7 - mostly stay too. (The difference between T8 and T7 is that there's not a cutscene every 10 seconds!) The only exception would be brawlhalla, which I both like, and don't do rematches. Because years without any opponent suggesting rematch - made it so I hit back on automation, even when opponent lights up green for a rematch. It's almost as fast as rematching, anyway, which is frankly amazing. Strive for me sits in the middle. I think distributing the points - as if one and done player forfeits the matches in virtual ft2; would help force staying in the set. Even for me, who is inclined to one and dones. I'd like to see it tried, at least.
While I disagree with your choice to play games you don't like, or at least use that as rationalization for poor form, I respect your openness to a paradigm shift to dissuade the bad behavior. Good on you.
They one and done because they’re trying to farm MR is all. People do the same at lower level too, even worse as a matter of fact. I’m stuck in plat because I stopped playing rank because of this alone. They are playing in the most horrid way just to win, and then they quit immediately. If you lose : you prevent losing more points If you won : you prevent losing them to the player you just won against I kinda gave up on ever hitting master.
Fighting games are a huge ego check and most people just can't handle it. The amount of cope i've read in twitch chats from people who don't finish sets because "i'm better than them, there's nothing to learn" is fucking insane
I always did "perma rematch" until I started bumping into people who "didn't run the set." Now I one and done whenever I feel like it, but I still usually run the sets. If I even get a tiny whiff of a feeling that my opponent will rematch, win, and not run the set like a true coward, I will not give them an initial rematch.
I only one and done if something comes up at home (or my but). Sometimes i get really salty but i finish the set, thats not my opponent's fault that im a bad loser. They are trying their hardest as i am. Only time i quit its when they T-bag i admit i can't handle that and gets on my nerves. Disrespectful...
I don't play to much because of limited time, I play FT2 all the time in ranked, and sometimes, on casual, I go ft10 o ft5. If the difference is too high I go ft5 so I can lab thing out. Now that I got to Master I enjoy battle hub more so I can work on stuff.
I feel like one and doning is not a big issue in this game, it's pretty rare in my experience. Also people take ranked way too seriously, if somebody wants to leave a set for whatever reason (like a bad connection) they should be free to do so.
One and done might be statistically advantageous in this game, if you win you risk the opponent figuring you out. if you lose you might lose again. Playing longer sets requires a completely different mindset. Honestly this game is so r word it should really be FT3 or FT5 . You're on the ball with the evolution of the match.
One and dones would be a problem if SF6/T8 were niche games that takes minutes to get games, if ppl quit whatever. You gonna get another match in 20 seconds or less anyways
Man i never one in done unless its some wifi warrior with bad connection. i have a 5 year old daughter and if something comes up i still dont one and done. Its to the point that ill just put the controller down mid match if something comes up because its just not fair to win one and leave the set and if you was good enough youll get the points back. Personally at the end of the i wanna get better so i need all the matches i can get
Consistently one and done against bad connections. I'll also do it if I'm already salty and they're being especially BM. If I'm not already salty I just finish the set and blacklist them. Can't think of any other times (other than the obvious have to step away from the game reasons) that I've one and doned.
This reminds me about the TCG magic, i always say that the best part is " The gathering " . When i'm playing offline with some friends we do FT20 and i cannot care less on who win hahahahah. Is really about the friends we made along the way xD.
One and Done was never a problem. OnD players playing twice more matchups and learn twice more and faster. Everybody arguing with that are actually crying for missed opportunity to comeback or farm extra from weaker opponent. And keep your "you are not learining" bs to yourself, I'm more than happy with my Tekken God Supreme and eventually will get my God of Destruction.
Honestly if i paid 60 for a game i shouldnt be forced to play againts some idiot win or lose if i dont want to and yes all excuses are valid if it isnt a event/tournament. On any scale or backed by money who give a f nobody is obligated to baby sit your emotions not everyone wants to be top 500,000
And yea i agree one and dones are lame at some point but if online ranked points matter that much take it as motivation and clean up your game and keep your loser conceptions about that one and done person and move on
I don't rematch people who DI all the time, even when I win. I just don't like playing that kind of fight where it's mostly constant DI baiting and reacting.
Some people just honestly don't care. If it's not a tourney game, who honestly cares. Just move on and find somebody else who will run the set. It's crazy that people say it's just a game to convince people to keep playing a set, but if somebody says it's just a game why are you mad I'm one and doning, now that same reason becomes an excuse. The truth is, losing and not being able to prove that you can win is an ego thing and although getting one and done sucks, the real thing hurt here is the ego of the person who couldn't prove to themselves they are better than the one and doner. All in all this is a pointless conversation and if you bought the game with your money, you should be able to play it however you want as long as it doesn't involve actually cheating or messing up the game entirely.
isn't a majority of one-and-done's from coming across the same character again and again and wanting to fight someone else? - this increases drastically when it's a new character release because if you're a person who isn't playing the new char/didn't buy the new char/not interested in the character, then you're gonna feel the endless waves of this again and again. (Juri vs Bison. The juri player has probably played against enough Bison's to feel bored doing it yet again)
What makes me laugh the most when I get one and doned, is when I go and check they're profile, and it says 'Looking to Improve' lmao. No, no you're not looking to improve. It's taking me a little while to get Akuma to Master because a lot of Diamond 5 players will 1 and done after I win, and the high MR players playing Bison are smoking me lmao.
After playing 12 Bisons in a row, yes, I do one and quit at the 13th Bison (even if a lose or win). It's tiring and boring. Or if they were toxic doing teebag or anything like that, then I don't rematch and I block them.
People will not care. Why I say this? Because when folk know the game is laggy they will still ready up. Or refuse to vote out. Yeah Fighting games are fun. But i have learned to have other games to play.
People will always cry about how they have the right to 1 and done, what if I have a life bro etc No one says you don't but to me, it's like littering. If one person in your community litters, it's bad but it's not really a big deal, if their attitude is my time is too important to find a bin, it's bad but the community will be fine. If loads of people start doing it then your community becomes a pig stye. It's the same for this, online is a nice place to be because most of the player base are doing what they should, allowing your selfishness. If everyone was selfish, the entire experience is worse for everyone. It is a really simple fix, make ranked points for set wins not game wins. There are 2 legit reasons not to run it back: 1) if it is a bad connection, why do you want the points anyway, you want to get out asap and play a real game 2) real life stuff - take the hit, if irl shit is interrupting you EVERY time you play, you need better time management, FGC dads out here not one and donning all the time. If every time you play there are connection issues and an emergency at home, i suspect YOU might be the problem. People should only get points if they win the FT2, like a bracket, 1 game is nothing out of the potential 3.
sf6 should force you to play the ft2. is just like winning a game in a tornament and leaving before the set is done. The player that didnt leave should be awarded
People act like requiring best of 3 is some massive terrible inconvenience when plenty of games have requirements for length of gameplay. League of legends you are REQUIRED to play the WHOLE match which can be like 40 mins. Or at 15 minutes you can VOTE and hope your team is down to surrender. Make casuals as many games as you would like and ranked is mandatory best of 3 with option to request ending the game on bad connection. Easy. Don't queue up for ranked if you aren't down to run the set.
From what I saw of the match, why would that Cammy rematch? They were totally outclassed. Why waste their time on a match they were destined to lose? That's no fun. Much better to go back to the queue and hope to get a more competitive and fun match.

The vast majority of people that do 1 and done's, is because they don't wanna lose points or they're salty. Period.
see thats the thing. it could be any, all, or none of those reasons. at a certain point in sfv i had to realize that people will play the game HOWEVER they want to, and thats fine. when i really accepted that fact, i found myself not really caring about whether they rematch or not. i just move on and play someone else. i feel its a psychological thing, and i can only control myself and how i react.
Or bc the game wasn't fun lol I will leave after winning if you don't play honest footsies with me. I'm not abt to keep fearing di cuz you won't hit the lab it's annoying

If someone gets smoked and wants to leave I can accept that.
But if someone leaves after it’s 1-1 that drives me crazy.
yes im a plat and during casuals i get matched with master people and obviously i get double Peed on so i will leave after that one match
i think not wanting to play on stream is a pretty fair one. but i’ve definitely been getting more one and dones lately.
yeah, the only time i 1 and done is when the connection is bad or their PC makes the game too slow/choppy to play properly. i find that people doing it to me bothers me more when i'm at certain parts of the skill curve of a game. when it's a game i know really well, i don't get as upset because it's just like you said, "they admitted defeat." but i've picked up a couple of new games recently (3s and UNI2). and in both of those i feel like i've developed a "level 1" offense that's working for me, but i still don't know what all the counterplay options to my offense is, or what's "real" or "fake" yet. and that's when the 1 and doners' refusal to try to adapt to my play is really robbing me of valuable time and knowledge. like, isn't the whole fun of fighting games trying to figure out / adapt to your opponents? am i just a geezer?
btw i used to play resto druid too, A+ class and spec :D
i don't one and done often, but if someone just plain has me, there's no point continuing, i'm not gonna waste my time and i'm not gonna waste theirs, they aren't learning anything by trouncing me handily, and neither am i, but i'm also not ever playing ranked or street fighter past 3rd strike
the only other time i do it is if the connection is bad, but i upped the connection quality filter so i avoid that now
Bro the Tekken community specifically is AWFUL with one and dones. I spend more time waiting for ques than I do playing the game. Shit is wack
Don’t always get mad at a one and done. Sometimes things come up. Yesterday I had to one and done, cause my wife was waiting for me to move my car lol. Shit happens. It’s better than a rage quit.
Is MR ranking the main reason why people do it? Is it Ego driven? Am I totally overthinking it because I was salty? Maybe lol
People dont want to lab and you play Bison where people scream how broken he is. Happening to me too.
Capcom has to take away the quit option until the FT2 is finished, same with their battle hub tournaments. Thats it. i hope this becomes the new "rollback" outcry and we can get FT2 (or better yet, ft3) in sf7
In a Battle Hub Tournament, a one and done is a DQ, is it not?
@@therealblackcerberus2371 correct. You do not have the option to decline a game.
So the only way to “one and done”, is to turn off your system, which you would get DQed
@@metalgeartrustysomeone else in the comments for this vid put it best. Keep the quiet button between games, but if the set isn't over it is a SURRENDER button. Problem will become almost not a problem after that.
Force ranked to be the entire set in every fighting game. I don't care about your excuses. You queue up to play a 45 minute LoL match, you can play a 5 minute FT2
And only award points at the end of the FT2, of course
Tournament Larp

sf6 is the first fg for me, and i one and done if the connection is bad or if the opponent is much stronger (i won't learn anything in the second game that will make me a better player, and i'd rather spend my time playing someone who's skill is relatively similar to mine even if i end up losing, because in these matches i can actually try things and learn how to react to whatever my opponent is doing). also sometimes i quit if i really don't feel like playing the match up. other than that i really don't understand, why people leave, and the idea about saving points seems ridiculous to me, since you'll eventually lose them anyways to better players if you climb high enough leaving every second game
In SF6 I might get one and done'd 1/30 matches or so, but in Tekken it's just expected and am pleasantly surprised when they hit rematch.
True. I don't come across one n done as much in SF than I do in Tekken
Add an option like "best of 5/7/9 rounds". If both sides have it turned on - match configuration will override.
Add surrender option in between rounds.
PERFECT! CHANGE THE LEAVING OPTION TO SAY SURRENDER. This almost solves the issue entirely.
People one and done because there is no punishment for leaving and they don't care about improving.

Tekken 8 community 0/10. They all one and done win or lose. And then i have to wait another 10 minutes.
Despite my views on one and done great vid automattock👍

- _"This character is extremely annoying and I don't wanna deal with them."_
- _"This player seems to have my number and I don't wanna lose more points."_
- _"What just happened there is some BS and it was a knee-jerk reaction."_
Or all of the above. This is of course barring the obvious terrible connection or real-life interruption reasons.
I usually one-and-done Lily even if I win lol
Regardless, I've always had a hard time with taking losses well and learning from them, so I'm constantly working on getting better about that.

I thought dragonball fighterz solved this problem:
At the end of the match just offer two options: Rematch and Character Select.
We got some good fights out of it, but I didn't want them to suffer through my
connection.
If I was a poker player and I let a clearly superior player drain me to “learn” then I am a bad poker player
Most of the time for me… something comes up.
If i dont like that match-up or person, I'll one and done win or lose. If I want to learn, I'll do that in casual or bh.
Be grateful for the GGs and become better" - if youre in a shit mood none of that is likely 😅
i just queue for both at the same time because i just want to play the game

I definitely don't know how to get better. But even if im at a plateau, i still have fun playing SF6. People out here acting like Frieza lol
I really think people should play more casuals if they don't want to play certain matchups or certain people. Sometimes I just wanna play for fun, so i quit certain mus, but I don't go to ranked for that.
>matched up against a Guile who plays super aggressive; EX flashkick everywhere
>he wins one game and leaves
>i get matched against him again five minutes later
>i bait EX flashkick and let him die

Some people truly don't care about anything, including themselves.
I do it after a victory to annoy the opponent when I sense they're trying too hard. Judging by these comments, it works.
Before i watch, imo, if they leave after I win once, then idc. It's when they leave when the score becomes 1-1 that pisses me off.
They one and done because they’re trying to farm MR is all. People do the same at lower level too, even worse as a matter of fact. I’m stuck in plat because I stopped playing rank because of this alone. They are playing in the most horrid way just to win, and then they quit immediately.
If you lose : you prevent losing more points
If you won : you prevent losing them to the player you just won against
I kinda gave up on ever hitting master.
Fighting games are a huge ego check and most people just can't handle it.
The amount of cope i've read in twitch chats from people who don't finish sets because "i'm better than them, there's nothing to learn" is fucking insane
I always did "perma rematch" until I started bumping into people who "didn't run the set."
Now I one and done whenever I feel like it, but I still usually run the sets.
If I feel my opponent is playing on a cheatbox, aka, hitbox, it’s definitely one and done. Or, if I get matched against a modern player.
I don't see the problem really. And not, i don't do it bc, again, i don't see why should i care to that point either.
It takes 5 minutes in highish mr.
Man i never one in done unless its some wifi warrior with bad connection. i have a 5 year old daughter and if something comes up i still dont one and done. Its to the point that ill just put the controller down mid match if something comes up because its just not fair to win one and leave the set and if you was good enough youll get the points back. Personally at the end of the i wanna get better so i need all the matches i can get
Yea, people can leave for whatever reason they want. As long as they don't rage quit, who cares?
Consistently one and done against bad connections. I'll also do it if I'm already salty and they're being especially BM. If I'm not already salty I just finish the set and blacklist them. Can't think of any other times (other than the obvious have to step away from the game reasons) that I've one and doned.
Ah yea, sometimes I do that too if people are teabagging or intentionally playing like a troll to get a rise.
Ironically enough the one fighting game out of the "big 3" to have forced sets is mk1 yet it had to be trash in most other aspects
They know they got lucky and cant win again
Maybe he just doesn't want to be on someone's stream. I can relate to that.
I tend to blacklist people who don’t run it back. As it pisses me off, and I don’t want to start headhunting like I did in SFV.
I think some people just dont know theyre expected to
Some people just honestly don't care.
I don’t do mirrors other than that run the set
What makes me laugh the most when I get one and doned, is when I go and check they're profile, and it says 'Looking to Improve' lmao. No, no you're not looking to improve. It's taking me a little while to get Akuma to Master because a lot of Diamond 5 players will 1 and done after I win, and the high MR players playing Bison are smoking me lmao.
After playing 12 Bisons in a row, yes, I do one and quit at the 13th Bison (even if a lose or win). It's tiring and boring.
Or if they were toxic doing teebag or anything like that, then I don't rematch and I block them.

Bro, thats so true.
adding to the list:
You just got denied your promotion and I'm not letting you get a rematch
I'll one and done if the other person is disrespectful as in, they tea-bag.
People will not care. Why I say this? Because when folk know the game is laggy they will still ready up. Or refuse to vote out. Yeah Fighting games are fun. But i have learned to have other games to play.
People will always cry about how they have the right to 1 and done, what if I have a life bro etc
No one says you don't but to me, it's like littering.
There are 2 legit reasons not to run it back:
1) if it is a bad connection, why do you want the points anyway, you want to get out asap and play a real game
2) real life stuff - take the hit, if irl shit is interrupting you EVERY time you play, you need better time management, FGC dads out here not one and donning all the time.
If every time you play there are connection issues and an emergency at home, i suspect YOU might be the problem. People should only get points if they win the FT2, like a bracket, 1 game is nothing out of the potential 3.
This is why I think mk did alot right because it forces you into a ft2
allow an option to do one match or a ft2 match.
sf6 should force you to play the ft2. is just like winning a game in a tornament and leaving before the set is done.
I personally wouldn’t one and done, but you’re playing bison and i kinda see it.
From what I saw of the match, why would that Cammy rematch? They were totally outclassed. Why waste their time on a match they were destined to lose? That's no fun. Much better to go back to the queue and hope to get a more competitive and fun match.
Cammy?
one and dones make online lame as fuck.
i wish more games would let people deathmatch as long as they want.
hell, i wish tekken 8 let us deathmatch.
