Sadly was "extremely" disappointed with this story, but I thank you for uploading it so I could save myself some money. Not because it was a bad game, but because I'm not too into fighting games and was only going to get this because the launch trailer made it seem as if it'd have a superb story, which in my honest opinion, it didn't. :P I didn't really enjoy the fact that no good guys really died in this one. Well, besides the filler nameless soldiers who are apparently just there to give us some fatality style action. But it was just pretty much your cliche good guys beat bad guys despite the overwhelming circumstances. I thought it was plain out insulting to have Liu Kang defeated so many times like he was nothing. Especially struggling to take on Brigg's and Kenshi's kids. Seriously? And do they even remember who Sindel is? She killed like 9 people on her own in Mortal Kombat 9, yet with the support of Liu Kang and Kung Lao, legendary heroes from past games, these 3 can't even beat up two kids or Raiden by himself? What? Hell, the two were even wounded already and they still couldn't beat them, didn't know Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and Sindel were that pathetic. But to be honest, the ending fight was the worst part for me. Shinnox in his empowered form can't even defeat one young girl, he's a freaking Elder God and he gets his butt handed to him by Johnny Cage's daughter? How did this guy even expect he could ever take over earth realm? Cassie was by herself when she defeated him, imagine if it was her whole team. Quan'chi sacrificed himself for this loser? Even empowered this guy can't take on one mortal fighter haha. And I'm sad Mileena and Baraka had to die when that stupid bug chick was allowed to live. I miss Shao-Khan already, he was actually brutal, dangerous, menacing and scary, and also looked completely badass. Oh well.....
Mich RoyalYeah, Kotal Kahn disappointed me. Doesn't seem like he can hold a candle to Shao Kahn. I mean being beat by Kung Jin? Really? (Though, I guess Liu Kang beat Shao Kahn after beating Goro in the original timeline... but he's a dragon!) But like ***** said, Sindel had that soul buff in 9. And apparently Johnny is decendent from a warrior race created to kill gods (with green energy armor ...dubbed 'halo's? wtf?), so that's why Cassie stood a chance. I think it's safe to go under the assumption that Cassie's team was trained (more or less) on the other kombatants fighting styles. Only reason I can come up with for why Ermac didn't destroy any of them a long time ago.

Yeah, that's my exact thoughts on Kotal. Also, why Kahn? I don't think they were related and considering most of outworld secretly wanted Shao Kahn dead and Onaga wasn't a Kahn, I doubt it means emperor. I still think it was the 'halo' because at the beginning Johnny was the only one that fought Shinnok after he beat Raiden, Fujin, & Sonya to the floor. That being said... There's no excuse why two wounded kombatant children were toe to toe with four elites. Honestly I'm most upset that Shang Tsung didn't have a role in the story. Shao Kahn was always the big bad, but Shang Tsung always felt like the main villian.

But then there's some downsides, like, I expected a lot more ass-kicking from Liu Kang and Kung Lao, now apparently taking over Scorpion's role as cursed revenants, but....meh, that fell flat too. I guess no one can be as badass as a tormented soul as Scorpion. All the build up in the storyline suddenly just fell flat at the ending, like they just ran out on ideas on how to end the story. It totally could not be compared to the holy-shit-mindblown ending of MK9. Disappointing indeed.
There's something I hate about MK9 and MKX, and that is Xrays. They are basically the Ultras from street fighter which is fine, but the actual thought behind them makes the rest of the game's violence impact-less. This is only accentuated when you see the same Xray time and time again because the player becomes reliant on it. If arrows to the eyes don't blind them, or a frozen and crushed liver doesn't make them drop dead shortly after the fight, then what's the point with slicing their head off. when they could just flip back up.
saif Zaki My god, I hope your education was as torturous as it was to read that. The fatalities in MK are shock value, that's it. An animation to rub your victory in the face of your opponent by doing something grusome to them (I.E decaptiation, mass mutilation etc.) There are no variations to the X-ray moves, and more often than not you will see a minimum of 3 xray moves in a common online battle, meaning the same X-ray moves get dull really quickly. By that point, it's just a case of being bored until the animation ends and you can start the fight again. If you can't see the continuity error between the opponent getting up after being stabbed through the throat or eyes, then falling to something of a similar fashion it's just....stupid... you know, like you. If the X-rays weren't ALL a case of hit confirm -> animation, that'd be better.

Yes I usually play the games for the plot. And in the last few games, Raiden just spends the entire time trying to be a hero and getting beat the fuck up/killed. Then someone else comes in and saves the day. Go back and try to disprove it if you want, but that's the story. Raiden's a total bitch.

I am not much into the MK universe, but i got it right that a former elder god, an immortal deity, boosted with some kind of amulet which was undestroyable by the elder gods themselfs, absorbed the earth reals powers, got evolved into some even more powerfull being, was defeated by an 18 years old "glowing" girl in hand to hand combat? Thats just feels wrong. Can someone explain me this?
It's pretty funny how so many are complaining about old characters coming back from the dead when people are having organs pulled out, bones shattered and basically receiving all manner death-blows yet are seemingly able to fight with little to no problem at all. Mortal Kombat is unrealistic as fuck; deal with it. If Sub-Zero can pull out your guts, turn them into an ice spear and stab you in the eye with it and you can get up from that and keep fighting, I don't see why it's such a stretch for dead characters to come back. Just hush and enjoy the violence.
WAITAMINUTE!! Hold up!! Hold Up!! I just finished watching this walkthrough storyline last night and it’s telling me that a little blond girl with what looks like two modern deringer pistols, some body armor and a STICK was able to defeat Shinnock (an Elder God) - something that not even RAIDEN could do? BS! COMPLETE AND UTTER BS!! I don’t care if she does possess the powers of her parents there is NO WAY you can convince me of that. I could accept someone like TAKEDA (who’s becoming one of my favorite new characters) if his telepathic/telekinetic powers were amped up to almost god-like levels or if all the new characters powers and abilities were combined - I would accept that option too. But not this! This storyline ended on a weak and stupid note. MKX is a great game with interesting characters but a stupid storyline ending.
T Thundermax After Johnny beat him in the beginning, I wasn't surprised at all that they'd have her be the one to beat him later too. If we're gonna be surprised about the outcome of a battle we should probably start from Shinnok's first defeat. Otherwise it's seems kinda sexist.

Although as far as the story goes, I would have liked it better if they had put more of a spin on the team defeating Shinnok *together* (in cutscene form, maybe a nice suspenseful group combo scene or something) rather than mostly Cassie just owning his face. Would have been a nicer lesson to the story, and a better culmination of their whole teamwork drama, instead of Sub-Zero just coming up and saying they did okay.
***** Cassie couldnt even take on Tanya. Yet she beats Shinnok....Doesnt really add up if you ask me. Just some lame excuse to say "hey this is the NEW GENERATION YEAHHH". When it could have gone the MK legacy/Deception route and continued from MK 9 and developing the core characters more. Not rebooting it, killing them off, then throwing them away. I didnt truly feel like I knew Johnny until MK 9 and the old Mortal Kombat movies. Now he doesnt play a huge role anymore and its bullshit.
RaginDXDemon Dude, fights haven't been adding up since MK9. It's the problem with how they lay out the story mode fights. But weird outcome or not, the new generation was a refreshing change that I loved, and I loved the aging old cast even more. Despite his low impact, this is my favorite version of Johnny's character so far.

Compared to the first one, this story is lacking. When it ended, I thought, "Wait that's the end?! No! There's got to be more to the story than that... It doesn't have any closure!" Not to mention the fact that there are several plot holes such as how did Sub Zero get back to being human after he was turned into a cyborg?
It had its good parts but overall a lacking story. MK 9's was better imo. What I really don't understand why's it all so serious. Not much use of that humor or charm for what MK series is known for, on top of its gore of course. As I watched it I thought up like a hundred scenes that would make the story and characters more interesting and entertaining than what I saw. I don't know, I just don't think it should all be so generic-looking. Screw it, I'll write some Mortal Kombat fanfiction and show the writers how its done :s
Johnny wasn't funny at all. The best reaction I got out of his "jokes" was a smirk and I disagree, there is no such thing as pointless humor. Humor is humor. If it has a point, its funny, if it doesn't, it still funny - if done right of course :s
Humor can also develop character. Its good in ANY situation, again - if done right. But I see your point, you like the story how it is and I respect that. Personally, I expected more.

I guess the purpose of this story is to show us that it's time to let the new generation of MK characters step up and take matters into their own hands. But still... It's kind of disappointing to see how great experienced fighters are defeated by rookies. MK fans (myself included) wanna see the original characters from the 90's kicking ass and that's never gonna change. Leaving the story aside, this game is amazing.

Sub-Zero sure had aged in 25 years into the future. The beard adds to his years of Mortal Kombat. The game play with Sub-Zero was too short they could have had him do more in the storyline rather then training the new generation of combatants.It was too funny with the fight with Cassie Cage when she said " get or get get down" the funniest words for her in this game lol. Thanks for the upload and game play IZUNIY. I can not wait to see more of your awesome videos. Keep up the good work. This video sure inspired me to get back playing MK again. Sure going to be looking for MKX to play on the PS3 and to do my very first lets play on in the near future.
Fantastic story - reminds me of the very first MK movie which is great!! You can feel that 90s atmosphere. New characters are decent and I'm so glad to see the classic ones. The whole gameplay became faster than in MK9. I really felt that chaos around me. The arenas are brilliant! Even the Krypt mode is great. My favorite fighters are: Mileena, Johnny Cage, Ermac, Scorpion, Liu Kang, Kitana, Sonya Blade, D'Vorah, Kung Jin and Kenshi.
A thought comes to mind... In MK9 Raiden makes an offer to Scorpion... Spare Sub-Zero and I'll ask the Elder Gods to restore your family and clan. So if Raiden has that kind of pull with the Elder Gods, especially taking into account his taking down Shao Kahn and capturing Shinnok, why couldn't he have the Elder Gods restore the revenants?

yayeeee!!! the white family saved the whole universe. this story is absolutely ridiculous. to think that cassie cage beat demon shinnok and the thunder "god" raiden got his ass handed to him goes to show you how bias the writers of the mortal kombat series is. this secret power that the cage family "has" came out of nowhere. the cocky, balls crushing, bad acting johnny cage bloodline has the hidden god-like power to rid the world of the evils that plague the mortal kombat universe for ages. there was no ancestry to back this abrupt sudden surge of hidden green whatever power that Johnny cage showcased earlier then miraculously his daughter tapped into with no idea that she was even capable of it was a result of the horendous writing of this desparate franchise. not that my point matters, the mortal kombat story has always been forced and hit or miss, but this rendition has got to be by far the worst storyline ever. not to mention the horrid fighting mechanics of the mortal kombat series thus far, the story doesn't rectify the terrible martial arts display and jerky animations all of the characters have. very disappointed. but hey, just my opinion. to each his own.

Also, I like how Jax's story is all aboout him being haunted by what he did as a servant of a bad guy, I wonder if it's an intentional throw back to his MK Unchained storyline. mgonepro87 got the game at midnight...played until chapter 6 and i just beat the game....way too short....way too fucking confusing....just i don't know i mean i guess playing a fighting game for the story is like watching porn for the story right?
Let me sum it up as politely as I can. After the events of MK9 Johnny and Sonya set out to capture Quan Chi so they could rescue their zombie friends. But Quan Chu released the evil god, Shinnok and ran away. After Johnny beat up Shinnok and imprisoned him in his amulet he married and had a daughter with Sonya while Raiden brokered a deal with Outworld. Earthrealm and Out world would leave each other alone and Earthrealm would guard Shinnok's amulet. Fast forward to present day Mileena, former empress of Outworld has stolen Shinnok's amulet from Earthrealm and attempted to use it to retake Outworld from the new Emperor Kotal Khan. Cassie and her team are sent to get it back and works with Kotal to do so. And after a bunch of shenanigans Kotal, crushes Mileena's rebellion and out of distrust for Earthrealm keeps Shinnok's amulet. Unknown to him his servant D'Vorah works for Shinnok and double crosses Kotal. Kotal unknowingly believes Earthrealm broke the peace agreement between them and Outworld and decides to attack Earthrealm. Meanwhile after Quan Chi is finally captured, Scorpion in his infinite stupidity lets Quan Chi loose and kills him. Which of course allows D'Vorah to deliver the amulet and ruins the only means of freeing Quan Chi's remaining servants including Liu Kang and Kung Lao. With Shinnok free he goes to corrupt Earthrealm source of life. But Cassie shows up and kicks his ass because apparently Johnny has some super powered bloodline and now Cassie does too. So Earth is saved, Out world is the enemy again, and Liu Kang is still evil. The end.
***** well, put them aside, other fight seem to be just "fight until one's faint" and later for comeback for story purpose. I thought that with a game which is infamous with the fatality like MK, there would be more people die though.

Really enjoyed the ending. Sets up another chapter in the story nicely. I hope Liu Kang/Kung Lao turns out to really be fighting against Raiden, and not just part of Shinnok's mind control shenanigans.
+therealestmc85 Do you know anything about the story... I can see why you grew out of this game if you stopped before Deadly Alliance... but Deadly Alliance, Deception, MK9 and MKX definitely help with the characterization of the characters a lot.

It's pretty funny how so many are complaining about old characters coming back from the dead when people are having organs pulled out, bones shattered and basically receiving all manner death-blows yet are seemingly able to fight with little to no problem at all. Mortal Kombat is unrealistic as fuck; deal with it. If Sub-Zero can pull out your guts, turn them into an ice spear and stab you in the eye with it and you can get up from that and keep fighting, I don't see why it's such a stretch for dead characters to come back. Just hush and enjoy the violence.

WAITAMINUTE!! Hold up!! Hold Up!! I just finished watching this walkthrough storyline last night and it’s telling me that a little blond girl with what looks like two modern deringer pistols, some body armor and a STICK was able to defeat Shinnock (an Elder God) - something that not even RAIDEN could do? BS! COMPLETE AND UTTER BS!! I don’t care if she does possess the powers of her parents there is NO WAY you can convince me of that. I could accept someone like TAKEDA (who’s becoming one of my favorite new characters) if his telepathic/telekinetic powers were amped up to almost god-like levels or if all the new characters powers and abilities were combined - I would accept that option too. But not this! This storyline ended on a weak and stupid note. MKX is a great game with interesting characters but a stupid storyline ending.
T Thundermax After Johnny beat him in the beginning, I wasn't surprised at all that they'd have her be the one to beat him later too. If we're gonna be surprised about the outcome of a battle we should probably start from Shinnok's first defeat. Otherwise it's seems kinda sexist.

Although as far as the story goes, I would have liked it better if they had put more of a spin on the team defeating Shinnok *together* (in cutscene form, maybe a nice suspenseful group combo scene or something) rather than mostly Cassie just owning his face. Would have been a nicer lesson to the story, and a better culmination of their whole teamwork drama, instead of Sub-Zero just coming up and saying they did okay.

I didnt truly feel like I knew Johnny until MK 9 and the old Mortal Kombat movies. Now he doesnt play a huge role anymore and its bullshit.

But weird outcome or not, the new generation was a refreshing change that I loved, and I loved the aging old cast even more. Despite his low impact, this is my favorite version of Johnny's character so far.

Compared to the first one, this story is lacking. When it ended, I thought, "Wait that's the end?! No! There's got to be more to the story than that... It doesn't have any closure!" Not to mention the fact that there are several plot holes such as how did Sub Zero get back to being human after he was turned into a cyborg?

It had its good parts but overall a lacking story. MK 9's was better imo. What I really don't understand why's it all so serious. Not much use of that humor or charm for what MK series is known for, on top of its gore of course. As I watched it I thought up like a hundred scenes that would make the story and characters more interesting and entertaining than what I saw. I don't know, I just don't think it should all be so generic-looking. Screw it, I'll write some Mortal Kombat fanfiction and show the writers how its done :s

I guess the purpose of this story is to show us that it's time to let the new generation of MK characters step up and take matters into their own hands. But still... It's kind of disappointing to see how great experienced fighters are defeated by rookies. MK fans (myself included) wanna see the original characters from the 90's kicking ass and that's never gonna change.

Sub-Zero sure had aged in 25 years into the future. The beard adds to his years of Mortal Kombat. The game play with Sub-Zero was too short they could have had him do more in the storyline rather then training the new generation of combatants.It was too funny with the fight with Cassie Cage when she said " get or get get down" the funniest words for her in this game lol. Thanks for the upload and game play IZUNIY. I can not wait to see more of your awesome videos. Keep up the good work. This video sure inspired me to get back playing MK again. Sure going to be looking for MKX to play on the PS3 and to do my very first lets play on in the near future.

Fantastic story - reminds me of the very first MK movie which is great!! You can feel that 90s atmosphere. New characters are decent and I'm so glad to see the classic ones. The whole gameplay became faster than in MK9. I really felt that chaos around me. The arenas are brilliant! Even the Krypt mode is great. My favorite fighters are: Mileena, Johnny Cage, Ermac, Scorpion, Liu Kang, Kitana, Sonya Blade, D'Vorah, Kung Jin and Kenshi.

A thought comes to mind... In MK9 Raiden makes an offer to Scorpion... Spare Sub-Zero and I'll ask the Elder Gods to restore your family and clan. So if Raiden has that kind of pull with the Elder Gods, especially taking into account his taking down Shao Kahn and capturing Shinnok, why couldn't he have the Elder Gods restore the revenants?

yayeeee!!! the white family saved the whole universe. this story is absolutely ridiculous. to think that cassie cage beat demon shinnok and the thunder "god" raiden got his ass handed to him goes to show you how bias the writers of the mortal kombat series is. this secret power that the cage family "has" came out of nowhere. the cocky, balls crushing, bad acting johnny cage bloodline has the hidden god-like power to rid the world of the evils that plague the mortal kombat universe for ages. there was no ancestry to back this abrupt sudden surge of hidden green whatever power that Johnny cage showcased earlier then miraculously his daughter tapped into with no idea that she was even capable of it was a result of the horendous writing of this desparate franchise. not that my point matters, the mortal kombat story has always been forced and hit or miss, but this rendition has got to be by far the worst storyline ever. not to mention the horrid fighting mechanics of the mortal kombat series thus far, the story doesn't rectify the terrible martial arts display and jerky animations all of the characters have. very disappointed. but hey, just my opinion. to each his own.

Confused? It was pretty self-expleanatory.
Let me sum it up as politely as I can. After the events of MK9 Johnny and Sonya set out to capture Quan Chi so they could rescue their zombie friends. But Quan Chu released the evil god, Shinnok and ran away. After Johnny beat up Shinnok and imprisoned him in his amulet he married and had a daughter with Sonya while Raiden brokered a deal with Outworld. Earthrealm and Out world would leave each other alone and Earthrealm would guard Shinnok's amulet.
Fast forward to present day Mileena, former empress of Outworld has stolen Shinnok's amulet from Earthrealm and attempted to use it to retake Outworld from the new Emperor Kotal Khan. Cassie and her team are sent to get it back and works with Kotal to do so. And after a bunch of shenanigans Kotal, crushes Mileena's rebellion and out of distrust for Earthrealm keeps Shinnok's amulet. Unknown to him his servant D'Vorah works for Shinnok and double crosses Kotal. Kotal unknowingly believes Earthrealm broke the peace agreement between them and Outworld and decides to attack Earthrealm. Meanwhile after Quan Chi is finally captured, Scorpion in his infinite stupidity lets Quan Chi loose and kills him. Which of course allows D'Vorah to deliver the amulet and ruins the only means of freeing Quan Chi's remaining servants including Liu Kang and Kung Lao. With Shinnok free he goes to corrupt Earthrealm source of life. But Cassie shows up and kicks his ass because apparently Johnny has some super powered bloodline and now Cassie does too. So Earth is saved, Out world is the enemy again, and Liu Kang is still evil.
The end.
