yeah they still had to add 20 characters. That sounds insane now, but they added 24 characters including echo fighters.

I think he's been reading leaks, and sometimes the trailer is obvious.
He didn't get Byleth, Pyra, Piranha Plant, Joker, Sephiroth, and probably more. Some didn't give him the chance, to be fair.
The King K Rool one was ridiculous
I also love how literally no one in the history of reaction videos got Piranha Plant even 10 seconds after seeing the actual plant.

It's so weird how everyone was so hype about just the base roster in the start, and as the time moved on, so many people are complaining about a particular character not being a DLC
It's called acclimatising. Some might call it greed; but I think people deserve the right to want their (reasonable) favourites in. It may be a lot of effort for Sakurai but in the end, taking his series to a roster over 100 really would be the 'Ultimate' thing in fighting games. Which they honestly cold have with this version

@@isauldron4337 We're Nintendo's loyal consumers and pay good money enough for their 're-make' and 'port' antics as it is. I'm sure pushing Sakurai for about 10 - 15 more characters shouldn't cost him or Nintendo the World, they aren't some random indie developer.

To me I felt like sora was the perfect ending to smash ultimate, not an intense fight scene in the trailer, just him appearing and looking at all the characters with the music and then shaking Mario's hand to finally end it.

I kinda feel what you’re saying. Like this series has always been a fighting game. The end of the game having Mario and Sora shake hands is beautiful and an amazing fighting game ending.

Steve will always be my favorite reveal in Smash.

It was all planned so that he could show the passing of time in the reaction compilation
This isn't a compilation of all of Aaron's smash reactions this is the beard timeline
I don't care who didn't end up in Smash, all I have to say is that I'm glad I got to experience all the surprises, plus some stuff I actually wanted ended up in the game, like Banjo and Sans, this was a wild ride.
Really good to see people like you as positive to see everyone in Smash!!!

I love the Reveals more than anything but honestly, for a game called ''Ultimate'', I still am a bit saddened they stopped short of 100 characters. But maybe the naming is more symbolic; Sakurai honestly worked both his arms clean off for some of the insane deals and collaborations to make Smash so big it would possibly be forever self-sustaining in the gaming industry. Now Smash 6 will be a far easier ride as almost everyone else will really want in on a piece of the action!

When you see all the returning characters, all the new characters and all the DLC characters being revealed.. you really understand what a phenomenal roster this game has. And what a phenomenal game it is period.
That ultimate reveal trailer is legit my second favorite trailer of all time. They knew how hype that shit was the way that they slowly revealed every fucking character from the franchise returning.

While I love these reactions, I feel like the fact that he's seen all the leaks for these characters takes away from the hype and surprise a bit...

1. Square enix is Generous with their characters
2. They love killing/hurting Mario
3. They love Mii Gunner

I still think it's funny everyone including Sakurai thought Ridley was too big to put in smash.
Sakurai was the only person who remembered Ridley is relatively small in the original Metroid
SEPHIROTH and sora are hands down the best reveals in my opinion
I think what bothers me the most is everyone thought Chrom would be Ike or Marth echo and didn't consider Roy.
Roy used to be Marth's Echo/Clone in Melee until he received some slight changes in 3DS/Wii U.
Even though the game has been out for almost 3 years I love coming back to see the reveal trailer for Ultimate as well as the character reveal trailers just to see the reactions. Even though I already know who’s in the game it’s nice to relive that nostalgia and emotion.

When I first saw Sora's reveal trailer I legit shed a tear at one point.

So many memories, so many experiences. I will always treasure the work of Masahiro Sakurai and his team for the effort, passion, and determination put into a single game. Whatever Sakurai does next, I think we should all support him 100%. He gave us Banjo, Sephiroth, and above all odds, Sora! He has proven himself to be a gaming legend. Thank you Sakurai for everything you've done.

I kinda wish every reaction wasn't "omg the leak was right". I know some people like to look into the leaks of things, but I found it so much more fun to not look at any rumours and just watch the trailers when they come out. Sephiroth especially was a huge surprise to me, cuz I hear the music and I just jumped up in shock.

@@connorbruhmoment that's not what I meant, it all felt real, I'm guessing in the first few reactions between the vergeben leaks and initial speculation he had a better grasp on some of the early on fighters. The further we got into the dlc passes, the more the credible leaks seemed to dry up (or, to me, at least).
@@1tylerq127 Yeah this is pretty much it, though I will say Simon and K. Rool were just hard guesses that I got right.
Coming back to the beginning, memories were made in the development of smash bros. Characters that were cut returned, and we got surprises along the way. We got joker, we got banjo Kazooie, and we even got sans. Thank you Sakurai for a great fighting game

The character is interesting. The MARKETING, though? A total shitshow and PR nightmare that's mostly the fault of Nintendo's arrogance. You KNOW something goes wrong when at Nintendo's New York store, the crowd is mostly quiet; The crowd there is NEVER quiet.

Unfortunately, I didn't end up having the killer reactions I should have for Simon and Terry, since I wasn't properly acquainted with them before Smash. I'm a huge fan of them both now, but back then, it was more a "...Okay." Sora and Sephiroth got the biggest reactions out of me. Sephiroth was because I legit did not think they could do him justice, and thus not able to be added. And Sora? He was the character I wanted most in the game, but also had more licensing issues, so he wasn't very likely.

Just simply looking back from the final dlc character to the first trailer really reminds me of the journey it has been
That first trailer was unbelievably hype
Always felt a bit peeved when people just knew who it was before.
Sora's trailer had me thinking so many different things before he was revealed. When DoomGuy was revealed as a Mii Outfit I thought it was gonna be Master Chief, then when it showed that they were all trophies I thought it was gonna Waluigi since he's an assist trophy and when it focused on Zelda for a second I thought it was gonna be BOTW Zelda and when it focused on Shulk I thought it was gonna be Rex and when it was the flame i thought Cinderace because he's a fire type or dark souls cause it looked like a bonfire from dark souls
It's a testament to the popularity of Banjo and Kazooie that Nintendo took the time to animate the other characters being ecstatic at their arrival.
Watching these again is making me tear up. I'm gonna miss these reveal trailers, they were all so high quality and so hype! Each one felt like a big event

This game has been a part of my life for so long it feels so sad and surreal that everything is finally coming to an end. I was a junior in highschool when this was announced and now I’m living in my own apartment. It’s just so crazy how it feels like such little time has passed yet so much has happened at the same time too
