On a more serious note, I’m really happy to see powerstancing become a thing in Elden Ring, and I plan on doing it when I finally do my own first playthrough of the game sometimes in the next couple of months, hopefully. It’s was a great concept in DS2, but it seemed held back by the fact that there weren’t a lot of particularly interesting enemies to use it on. Plus it was on the old, slower combat system, and I imagine dual wielding feels much better with the newer DS3 / BB style of combat.

one thing i do wanna say is that i just love how earnest lenny is. like obviously there's all the jokes and memes and shit but he's someone that genuinely cares and loves dark souls and these games. just great to see in an industry that can be quite negative sometimes.
I've played through ER convergence 3 times now and it's been a drastically different experience each time. My most recent build (solo) so far has been dex archer with quality lordsworn greatsword as backup. Late game it fell off, but it was fun being a sniper for the first 3/4 of the game. Also if you like DS3, highly recommend the convergence mod for that as well. It's also incredible.
I beat the games with melee no summons, and some with ashes in elden ring, the main reason I don't coop on reruns is actually just cos i forget. Secondarily, I don't want either of us to beat it too quickly and turn what could be a fun bonding experience fighting a boss together into a meltfest that makes the loading screen they sat through worthless, and removes the opportunity to fight the boss for me. Or vice versa. And here and now do I think "oh yeah, feel like bonfire ascetics would fix that." Yeah, i should play DS2 co-op!

The madness and rot bosses weren't there, and lake of rot was mostly still lake of rot just with a mini area with the rising platforms. The tree teleporting is funny though, I just stacked mines and murdered all the tree bosses at like level 40.

In case you’ve not played it before: Lords of the Fallen is now on a pretty good discount, played it myself and even though it’s not as good as Dark Souls II, I think it has potential for the following reasons: A) Barrel Content 2) Kick enemies off ledges, causing them to levitate on the negative Z axis D) There’s a Broken Sword I’m aware the reviews are pretty mixed, but I honestly think you could have fun and make awesome content with it, should you decide to give it a go! Here's a fun way to play Elden Ring if its getting a little boring. Choose a weapon you like and put quickstep ash of war on it and use that instead of dodging. The combat feels really smooth, especially against bosses. Just level up mind a little so you dont run out of fp
What timing. I'd just started playing this like a week ago. I felt like my playthrough has been barely different from vanilla except now I have several cool overpowered weapons (like the celestial blade and star shadow and staff of rot). I do very much appreciate being able to farm melania for souls with the boss revival thing instead of having to kill the dudes in mohgs palace. Also, the mod feels surprisingly easy. Maybe having like 20 levels worth of stats from armor is to blame. Still a good time but I was kinda hoping for more reworked (and more difficult) enemy placements all around. Maybe in a later version.
i loved the sprt ash system. it felt like a nice collectible, and trying them out was always great. trying to find the mostfun or broken or most resilient. who helped more by doing what. it was alot of fun.
Dark Souls 2 is so good as a game, that not only it was amazing, but it was literally so good that some goodness spilled on ER and made it at least a bit good. All hail to DS 2.
In relation to the rant about gatekeeping. I played through all of DS3 without summons, melee with a couple of prayers for extra healing and it was a lot of fun. I played Bloodborne with Saw Cleaver and blunderbuss so help. But you bet I played a dirty dirty mage in Elden Ring because the magic just looked so much fun and so varied compared to DS3 and you get I brought it spirit summons to tank bosses. Was it easy mode? Maybe. Did I fight the Godskin Apostle in the basement of the Calid Tower at level 35. Yes. Did magic help me here? Probably not.
On one hand, I really do like the robo voice stuff a lot and hope to see some of it again some day. On the other hand, I always figured it was something you didn't like anymore which is why you quit using it. So even if I never see it again, I'm still glad you made the videos you did to begin with with it and will keep watching you regardless.

Hey Lenny, I've been thinking about this, and I don't think it's the robo voice itself that people miss - I think it's your writing that people miss. Most of your current Dark Souls content is stream based, which means that the comedy is improv. You're quite skilled at improv comedy - it's one of the reasons I subscribed and watch basically all of your content - but your old robo-voice videos couldn't be improv because you had to type out the script for the robo voice to read. Instead, robo-voice relied on your written comedy, and I think you're equally skilled there. However, your written comedy has a different tone from your improv - because you know what's coming in the gameplay, you would create irony and juxtaposition that contrasted with the "robo Lenny" character to comedic effect. My point is this: You've moved beyond the robo voice - you don't need it. However, what you might want to try is some more scripted content. Create a new character that uses your real voice but isn't 'you' and write for that character. Maybe even try reaching out to some animators for a colab instead of using raw footage. See what happens. If you end up making something you like, I'm sure we'll like it too - and I'm betting so will the "bring back the robo voice" crowd because what they really miss isn't the voice but the writing.
at 20:01 i feel you on the 1 v 1 on bosses thing ima very gimmicky player. but when i see my shield goons all punching their shields theres something endearing about that. some of the summons trivialize the game but some are just nice additions like jelly fish for poison as a poison player i love that and the rats and the dogs that can bleed those summons are fun to use and feels like it sstill you and like a pet and not you and the legendary warrior from legend.

My point is this: You've moved beyond the robo voice - you don't need it. However, what you might want to try is some more scripted content. Create a new character that uses your real voice but isn't 'you' and write for that character. Maybe even try reaching out to some animators for a colab instead of using raw footage. See what happens. If you end up making something you like, I'm sure we'll like it too - and I'm betting so will the "bring back the robo voice" crowd because what they really miss isn't the voice but the writing.
at 20:01 i feel you on the 1 v 1 on bosses thing ima very gimmicky player. but when i see my shield goons all punching their shields theres something endearing about that. some of the summons trivialize the game but some are just nice additions like jelly fish for poison as a poison player i love that and the rats and the dogs that can bleed those summons are fun to use and feels like it sstill you and like a pet and not you and the legendary warrior from legend.
