- replacing evap leak detection pump after confirming purge solenoid was good and gas cap was well sealed.
for diagnosing purge valve,
• Dodge caravan & Chrysl...
but in most cases when you have small leak and/or gas cap in dodge vehicles, it's mostly the evap leak detection pump
bought mine here: partsavatar.ca
their shipping can be a little slow., but I have experienced good quality from them so far
Thank you
Finally someone who points out in details where this pump is located !!!
Yes awesome indeed, thanks for your time n effort to educate all of us n not make it so technical n video fantastic,ps please and part info if you can in future projects 😁👍
Good video a lot of the other videos say get a new gas cap and of course that never fixes the problem in my opinion I would replace this thing first
Um if you can't Identify the gas tank correctly, then people shouldn't follow your video. Because what you identifyed as the gas tank, is actually the storage compartment of the back of the van. fun fact when you first start your video that BIG BLACK SHINY thing with straps holding it up is the gas tank. Another fun fact. No need for grease, or the excesive amout you used. The O-ring goes into the canister first then install the pump.
Can you tell me if the new one isn't supposed to make a noise? Not trusting this guy's experience. I got a new one and it rattles, they say it's the floater, he made a big deal pointing that out.
I believe the grease is necessary to keep the the o'ring from drying out and cracking, which in some cases could be the cause of the "leak".

I got a new one and it makes a rattle. No one knows if it's normal at the store, they say it's the floater. Not sure if this guy knows for sure if that's normal or not
I have changed three times on three different vehicles (a dart, grand caravan and a town and country) and the new ones didn't rattle... but like you said, that probably does not count for enough experience.
You could try the rattling new one and see if it works.
@@adenijiisaiah9582 I've been to 3 stores. They all rattle.
@@adenijiisaiah9582 you also thought the seat storage was the gas tank.
You have a point. Can only share what I've experienced.
You could just try the new one with the rattle and see if it works.
I saw a video where a guy actually said it SHOULD rattle. And he did a tear down of the leak detection pump.
