This was one of my first games on my Mega Drive. Dad used to play it a lot and found a lot of cheap tricks. This was one game that he didn't allow us to exchange with our friends who had Sega. The cartridge we had was unlicensed, there was no starting logo and what made things worse - no save battery. So you had to beat the entire championship game in one sitting, which took over an hour. Eventually with lots of time and practice, dad managed to beat Senna with such a score difference that he could skip several final races and even if Senna would keep coming 1st he still wouldn't catch up.
I was watching the race and couldn't get off at front the TV since the crash until my parents send me to go sleep. After this the weekends loose that magical aura due F1
Ive played this game most of my life 1 and 2 i cant get enough of it im 38 years old now and still play it. Id like to say great driving, almost as good as me 😀😀 good job tho 👍👍

Tenho 41 anos e jogo até hoje no celular. Acredito qie o Senna, sendo supervisor, tenha melhorado bastante do 1 para o SM GP 2. Talvez o criador desse conteudo não jogue tão bem wuanto você. Mas eu sim 👍👊. Até criei modalidades pra chegar o mais perto possível da realidade.

O Easter Egg que aparece no lago não é um dinossauro é sim o monstro do Loch Ness! Um dos meus primos tinha o original para a Mega Drive há mais de 30 anos e joguei muito esse jogo na altura, mas infelizmente eu não era bom nesse jogo. Contudo, sempre foi um dos meus preferidos! No domingo passado encontrei o original à venda numa loja de artigos retro e obviamente comprei o jogo. A minha Mega Drive ainda funciona e ainda costumo jogar e por incrível que pareça passados mais de 30 anos ontem mesmo consegui melhorar os meus skills de tal maneira que pela primeira vez na vida consegui desbloquear os dois Easter Eggs! 😅

Respondiendo a tu pregunta, que fue excelente e incluso una idea para un video futuro, en parte por lo que tengo entendido, el juego estudia tu desempeño en función de tu puntaje en comparación con otros conductores (razón por la cual a veces otro conductor te reta aleatoriamente, porque en de alguna manera está cerca de ti). Esto es lo que entiendo sobre las "mecánicas" del juego, pero para responder la pregunta específicamente, para ser honesto, ha pasado mucho tiempo desde que esto me pasó, así que tuve que probarlo manualmente y ver qué pasa. Reté a Lambo (Moon en el juego original) y perdí la primera carrera, automáticamente antes de comenzar la segunda carrera fui desafiado por el mismo auto y perdí a propósito nuevamente, entonces el conductor fue a mi auto y yo me quedé con su auto, exactamente como predijiste. Creo que esto es parte de la mecánica de juego que mencioné anteriormente, porque el juego estudió mi desempeño y vio que al desafiar y perder existía la posibilidad de que Lambo me ganara y por eso me retó, de todos modos... muy agradecido por la pregunta y por su participación!

Sei que no SMGP1 vc tinha que correr duas ou três temporadas pra fazer o final real (que na segunda, acho, já aparecia o G. Ceará apelão... ou ele já tava lá e ficava apelão do nada)... não tem alguma parada como essa no 2 tb? Tenho esse jogo da época mesmo, mas nunca tive paciência pra fazer mais do que uma temporada. Eu que agradeço pela participação! Sim, é mais ou menos isso, em SMGP1 o desafio é ser campeão e em seguida defender o título (daí então aparece/surge o G. Ceara no lugar de um outro piloto, ele te desafia e te "tira" da equipe Madonna, com isso você volta pra um carro similar ao do começo, tendo que refazer todo o caminho e ser campeão novamente). Assim você tem o final original... Aliás, caso queira conferir, eu tenho um vídeo vencendo o primeiro campeonato de Zeroforce e vencendo Ceara em San Marino na segunda temporada (não perdendo o carro). Em SMGP2 o desafio está em vencer Senna simplesmente (sendo campeão). Diferentemente de SMGP1, não basta vencê-lo duas vezes para ter seu carro, é preciso mais de 5 vitórias sobre ele (as vezes), por outro lado ele não é tão "apelão" como G. Ceara é na segunda temporada de SMGP1, o difícil é conseguir as vitórias (especialmente em sequência), é preciso ter um bom carro nesse caso. Vencendo o campeonato, já aparece o final do Senna cumprimentando você ao sair do carro na última corrida, do contrário ele te estimula a continuar tentando na próxima temporada. There are a series of variables involving your current car in relation to what you are challenging... qualifying, finishing position, etc. For example, in other situation, I managed to get Benetton on just 3 occasions challenging with Serga, so it all depends on these variables. Basically, the fact is that the stronger the opponent, the more he will resist giving you the car. This is something a little more complex, since in the predecessor (Super Monaco GP), you just had to beat your opponent twice and the car was yours.
Cool. Congrats on beating season mode on 1st attempt, I could barely manage 3rd in WDC. I just tried revisiting this game and the Master difficulty seems ridiculous compared to the first game(which was admittedly a little too easy). Currently on 2nd season with Williams car and the mexico GP seems impossible to win. CPU sets a ridiculous time for pole position and any attempts to overtake end with a collision. Edit: Enough restarts did the trick. Once I could get a lead and avoid being rear ended it was plain sailing
Haha this may complicate things, but... as I said in another comment, from what I understand it is not enough to simply beat your rival, everything depends on variables such as the car you are in, your performance, your finishing position, the rival's position, how expressive your result is compared to your rival, etc. Based on this the AI studies and sees if you really deserve that car, that is why sometimes it takes 2, 3, 4 victories (or more), because everything ends up influencing (including losing), it is an interesting feature, because in the first SMGP it was enough to just win twice, but in SMGP 2 there are all these variables that make the game more interesting and challenging. 😊
@@AlternativeFrame_ Are you sure it's that complicated? I thought it was 2 wins for Class C, 3 for B and 4 for A, but my memory may be failing me. But I came in expecting you'd need 4 wins when you challenged a Class A. I think it's 4 for S too, but not sure.

For example, just like I said in another comment, recording this video I followed the same "path" and challenged Benetton. I won in the USA and a great P2 in Brazil (with Benetton P5), and got Benetton after this. But unfortunately I had a shutdown and had to start all over again and on the second occasion, I didn't do so well in Brazil (like in this video) and things took a little longer to happen. If you have significant victories over your rivals, getting the car may happen sooner than expected, so it's not exactly a certain calculation of 2, 3, 4 victories, it depends a lot on these variables too... of course, the victory weighs a lot, I would say more than half of the "equation", but these other variables can also influence. That's why this game is so interesting. 😁

Hello! This was one of the changes from one game to the next. In SMGP 2, there are situations where only two wins are enough, sometimes three, four, etc. It's a bit random, but it all depends a lot on how expressive your result is compared to your rival, also considering your car. What is the rival system in this game? I remember beating Minardi's driver 3 times in a row and still being stuck with the awful starter car.

Não sei se isso é por uma questão de limitação ou simplesmente pra destacar o oponente que você selecionou, mas geralmente os jogos dessa época tem suas particularidades... Por falar em Nigel Mansell's World Championship, em breve pretendo lançar um conteúdo especial dele aqui no canal. 😉

Es posible jugar a este juego y a otros de Sega Genesis tanto en Android como en iOS, para Android sé que existe la App "GENPlusDroid", para iOS conozco algunas como "GENESIS A.D.X. Plus, WebRcade y genesis4iphone". Necesitas comprobar cómo se juega, porque si no me equivoco WebRcade necesitas controles externos, pero aparte de eso, solo ten la rom del juego (que puedes encontrar fácilmente en Google) y diviértete.

In SMGP 2, there are situations where only two wins are enough, sometimes three, four, etc. It's a bit random, but it all depends a lot on how expressive your result is compared to your rival, also considering your car. Based on this, the AI decides whether or not you deserve the car.
I believe this is to make it harder for you to prove that you are really good and deserve that car, because sometimes it may have been a bit of luck or maybe because you kept "holding and blocking" your rival at all costs, so you have to do it all over again in the next race and you may not make it. It's a very interesting feature that I really liked. If you challenge Senna, you may have to win 5 or 6 times 😂. To give you an idea, while recording this video, if I remember correctly, I managed to get the Benetton after two races, because I managed to win in the USA and a great P2 in Brazil (with my rival in P5), but unfortunately I had an unexpected shutdown and had to start all over again 🤦♂️. And in this recording, I won in the USA, but I didn't do as well in Brazil as I did last time and things were more difficult from then on, anyway...that's the reason. 😉

The gameplay was slightly changed to something a little more realistic following Senna's guidelines (who helped develop the game), in SMGP the speeds were very high (over 400 km/h) and we lost a lot of speed on the curbs and even caused damage to the car, whereas in SMGP II the speeds have been reduced (as we can see during this gameplay) and you lose very little speed when passing the kerbs, using it as part of the track, just like we see in real life.
