    Your lessons are always to the point and somehow comfy to listen, even enjoyable. Yes, that's right! Quite a lot situations I get in I try to describe them for myself in English. Unfortunately, very often I can find the appropriate expressions for my emotions or even how to swear in modest way. Therefore my thougts are some way sounding for me as not tipical mine, artificial. I'll try to find a model suitable for me to dub.

    I started learning English in 1993. Then in two months my teacher all of a sudden fell down on his way to the University he worked and got injured. As a result of that accident he lost most of his memory and could not even recognize most of his relatives. So I gave it up for a while. Then I got back and started learning the languace in1995. A friend of mine recomended me a teacher who lived near by. What I want to say that I just did exactly the same what you say about the ways of thinking in English. Sometimes I would lose control and would talk as if I was talking to someone and all of a sudden I would catch someone's eyes on me and probably thinking what a mentally insane human being I was))) But it helped me a lot to improve my ability to start being able to express myself fluently. So this is a very nice Idea about how to poductively learn a foreign language, in particular English.
    Just keep on and be the way you are.

What would you advice when someone's aim would be increasing level of English from B1/2 to C1/2: is it better to be completely focused on English or is it not a bad idea to study English and another foreign laguage from scratch? How much slower would someone notice progess in the second case? Nice and helpful video! 😉

    • @EnglishwithMax
      @EnglishwithMax  4 роки тому

      Thanks!
      Well, it depends on how much time you have and what your priorities are. If your main aim is to improve your English and you don't have a lot of spare time, I'd probably just focus on English for the moment. But if that's not the case, I don't think there's anything wrong with starting a new language.

    Hi,Max.How`s it goin`?
    A couple of mins I couldn`t get that something is different about you. But what?
    Oh, it was a new hairstyle. I got it! :)
    BTW, that new one really flatters you.
    Could you clear up using of two expressions of 'to be used to doing sth ' and 'to get used to doing sth'?
    For instance, if we consider that one 'I am used to drinking a lot of black coffee every day'.
    Does it mean that I used to drink a lot of cups of Joe but for now it isn`t known exactly I do or not?
    Otherwise 'I get used to drinking a lot of black coffee every day' means that I am doing it nowadays?
    Thank you.

    • @EnglishwithMax
      @EnglishwithMax  5 років тому

      Thanks :).
      Good question. They mean very similar things.
      "To be used to doing sth" is for a current, static situation.
      E.g. I'm used to drinking black coffee.
      That means that at the moment I am in the habit of drinking black coffee. It's normal for me.
      "To get used to doing sth" is like "to become used to doing sth".
      E.g. There won't be any milk where I'm travelling to, so I need to get used to drinking black coffee. (It needs become normal for me, or I need to make it a habit.)
      If you want to use the second construction in the past, you could say something like:
      I didn't like black coffee in the beginning, but I got used to it. (It became normal for me.)
      I hope that helps!

    • @EnglishwithMax
      @EnglishwithMax  5 років тому

      Be careful not to confuse it with the structure "I used to do something" (without "to be"). That's about past activities and habits.

    I have my phone on English. Now writing in Spanish to my friends through WhatsApp is a nightmare. It tries to correct my words from Spanish to English all the time!!! 😂

      @@EnglishwithMax Yes, you can do that and then install two plug-in dictionaries, one per language. The problem is that you have to select them manually before start typing in, and that's the last thing you remember to do, usually. I'm old and not a Cel phone fan anyway. Cheers !
