@@pigeonpoo1823 Eventually I am sure it will be, but not during release. It's very cost inefficient for In2Detailing to just ship over one product, it will most likely when they reorder another skid.
I've had the Ultra Black Sponge for a couple years and I've never had an issue with it scratching the paint or anything else related to safe washing. I would rather have the UBS over the USS because I like a firmer sponge for the best cleaning capability. I now use the DIY Detail Legacy Sponge, which I prefer over the UBS. Thanks for the video Jamie.
I've got both, and agree with you on your comparison points. The USS glides and conforms quite well over large surfaces feeling really safe and soft and gets into door hande areas easier and behind mirrors, then the UBS does a better job with the areas that require a little more scrubbing power. Great video Jamie. Love that detail keg you've got there.
I’ve been back on the big red these days. I shredded 2 UBS’s believe it or not lol. And my issue with them is also how dense they are, don’t conform to curved panels like the big red. That USS does look more promising
By shredding I should have been more clear lol. They fell apart within a few months 😆. Never had that with a sponge before. It was wild. Just ordered the USS to accompany my BRS and legacy sponge. Can’t wait!
Probably will still use the UBS. I will definitely pick up that hero rinseless wash once I'm done with the ONR I have. I like that keg! I need to get one!
Other than me dropping my Ultra Black sponge (🤦♂️) I’ve been a big fan of it. Haven’t used it on the paint since, so I’m in need of another one, for paint. Now that pressurized Rinseless 😍 - next level!
Glad I found this, last night I ordered Hero, USS, and Rag Company clay sponge. Hoping to do my first rinseless wash this weekend! Looks like you did 2 capfuls of Hero to 4 gallons of water?
Jamie I believe Scott only ships with the shorty pressure washer wand now instead of wand sprayer. I believe I read he can't get the wand sprayers anymore. Great review. All you guys have Hero already. 4 more days....
Great review. I use UBS never had issues and it’s still holding up great. That keg as he interested just curious how heavy that thing is looks like a beast
Did a wash yesterday with the USS. Was working my way around the car and found a spot that I wanted to hit with APC. Once the sponge absorbed the APC it became useless. It stopped absorbing water and felt like a big piece of useless foam. I was using DIY rinseless and Koch Chemie Green Star 15:1
@@JamieTheCleaneryeah, it blew my mind. The sponge got really stiff and would absorb water anymore. It felt like a piece of solid foam. I had to give it a good long rinse after the wash.
Does Optimum Big Red Sponge still hold its own against these two? It has been a long while since I did a rinseless wash. Saw all the praises on Hero so I picked some up. Should I setup to one of the these sponges? Price isn't too bad for either considering how long they last.
Great Video ! I’m about to start with rinseless wash and also want to invest in a Clay Towel but don’t know which to go with the P&S or DIY I’ve been looking the UA-cam and no one has done a video comparing the two…. Which do you recommend Jamie ??? Thank You 🙏🏼
When I saw the nice and fancy container the Ultra Safe Sponge comes in plus the lower price I knew the were cutting corners somewhere…..The Ultra Black Sponge is/was made in USA by Lake Country iirc while the new one says right there on the package Made in China. Even though I love the Rag Company is a little bit disappointing….these companies never give us an “upgrade” in a nicer package and at a lower price.
I went from the UBS to the Legacy Sponge. USS is made in china crap. Yes it might cost less to buy, but it’s not going to last as long . Looking forward to trying Hero.
@@JamieTheCleaner I did- exactly how everybody recommends, I’m coated in cquartz UK 3.0 and it still scratched. I just went back to regular presoak foam, then foam with all Carpro products.
Esoteric black sponge is the best sponge on the market and it's really not close. Never really understood the square cuts style I understand it releases well it the water but on the panel it's acting as a flat surface most of the time which is not ideal.
@@kamikazefireball it is the same. I don't have a specific RW sponge so use this. It is insanely soft, but fragile. Soft but fragile. Try it, love the user experience, look in disappointment as it begins to lose bits.
I know you and others confirm that it’s safe on a car’s paint however I’m absolutely terrified of sponges 🧽 touching my cars paint the first thing that comes to my mind is swirls and scratches 😂
Been loving the combination of USS and then double flips for the higher traffic areas myself!
sorry this isn't strictly relevant, to this video, but is Hero coming to the UK?

Would be nice to get this stuff around EU areas, any plans?
Yes I agree, bring it to Europe!

Thanks for showing both of TRC sponges! I’ve been wondering about the differences. I can’t wait to try HERO

Can’t wait to try out hero. I got to use Koch chemie rrw this weekend, and I’m pretty impressed with it so far.
Great review, Jamie. The keg looks like a winner and puts down some product!
Need to try a rinseless sponge now that I’ve gotten into it!
Love to see a good comparison!
I like the comparison, and the new rinseless looks very slick.
Always fantastic! JTC bringing the 🔥🔥

I haven't tried the UBS or USS, I use a microfiber towrl for rinseless washes.
Can we see a video of your favorite chems. You’re one of the only YTs I trust on reviews. Would love to see what you use in 2024.
For Bugs, I just sit a microfiber towel sittin in the bucket and use that on the bugs

That’s what happens when you use Chinese foam, it looks ok, but doesn’t work.

Legacy sponge
May as well just wash the damn car conventionally. $26 for a sponge is fucking insane
