It surprises me that this is even possible, considering both Thunderbolt and USB are specifically designed _not_ to allow doing this. The connectors are designed to require _consistent_ force over a brief moment to seat or unseat the connection, rather than the momentary forces shown (you can't just give it a single push or pull, you have to _keep_ pushing/pulling for a moment), in order to prevent the cable coming out without deliberate effort. That said, really cool trick shots either way, and I hope AppleCare sponsored this because you're gonna need to replace those damaged charging ports!

Probably none, it's a phone. If you can't drop it without it breaking then you wasted money on something designed to break so you will replace it.
